Chapter 1134: Reason
"I supposed it is because out of all the people I have met in my life, Victoria…
…you are the only one who has responded normally – I suppose that is why I like you so much."
"That is because the people in your life are too scared to do anything about you! And shut your fucking mouth!"
"What… what is happening!? Why is the Messiah acting like that!?"
"The Messiah has taught us Calmness Despite Destruction, why is she suddenly acting like that!?"
All the people who were previously praying to V had all rushed out of the peristyle – and it wasn't only her – the entire population of the Sphere World all stepped out of their homes as soon as they heard V's voice thundering throughout the entire planet.
And from the shock on their faces, it would seem they had never really seen or heard V act like this at all – and Riley, of course, even though he was in the sky hundreds of kilometers away from the people, noticed this almost instantly.
"It would seem you have become some sort of guru to these people, Victor – perhaps you should stop this while you still have the chance to salvage your image."
"Fuck my image!" V did not care at all as she just once again disappeared from her spot – and before Riley could even blink, he already found himself in the middle of the colorful expanse of the Grand Triangle.
"Hm…" Riley just looked around for the planet filled with clouds, but as soon as his eyes landed on it, he once again found himself in a completely different location – it was easy to tell that he was no longer anywhere near the Sphere World since unlike the dark expanse of space, the Grand Triangle had easily identifiable colors.
"Are you sure about bringing us here, Victoria?" Riley then let out a small sigh as he turned around, and there, Victoria was glaring at him; the intensity, reflecting from the electricity that was covering her body – her silhouette, almost becoming transparent with each spark,
"I was under the impression that going off the designated path in the Grand Triangle is extremely dangerous – so much so that no one has traveled without a map in the last hundreds of years."
"Exactly," an almost mischievous smirk escaped V's face as she tilted her head to the side, "This is the place where you die, Riley Ross. This is the place… that we die."
"Hm. Are you—"
Both V and Riley looked around as a sort of hum echoed throughout the expanse – the sound was… harrowing, so to say the least. One did not even need to see what it is to know that it was colossal in nature – and not just in size.
But V did not care at all as she just rushed toward Riley – an almost sinister smile crawling on her face as her body just blinked from side to side — teleportation. But it wasn't just teleportation, she was also moving at the speed of light while teleporting, making her almost impossible to actually track.
"Heaven's Bullet!" V then let out a roar — and as she did so, her speed started creating after images, and her after images also started creating their own after image — all of them pointing at Riley.
And then, in an instant, a flash of light shot out toward Riley – a beam was faster than the speed of light itself. And since it still had the elements of lightning in nature, the beam was completely unpredictable as it shot out into a web — moving toward Riley all at the same time almost in a spherical path.
It almost seemed as if the very expanse of space itself was cracking – and from the way the colors of the Grand Triangle were reacting, it might actually truly be so.
All the cracks entered through Riley, bombarding him like an armalite from the heavens as they tore through his body without even any resistance at all.
"You truly have become a lot stronger, Victoria."
But alas, even with his body completely mangled, torn, burnt… Riley's mouth which was already completely separated from the rest of his body still moved and talked. This did not faze V at all, however – and from the smirk still planted on her face, she even expected it.
Her after images all soon completely disappeared – leaving only herself floating right in front of Riley. But before Riley could even move or do anything, V stomped her foot right on his chest, causing a wobbling shockwave to resound across the expanse as Riley's already shredded body was thrown away.
Riley's body was regenerating, but it was completely dampened and slowed down due to the trickles of lightning eating away at him without mercy – it was as if V's powers had completely evolved just for the sole reason of obliterating Riley.
V did not follow up with another attack as she just lifted both of her hands into the air and let out an almost crying roar,
"Desolate Nova!" V screamed as a ball the size of Earth's moon instantly appeared above her – the ball, however, was trickling wildly as it almost erased, or perhaps even absorbed the colors of the Grand Triangle. V then took in a deep breath, and as soon as she did so, the gigantic trickling orb disappeared and was seemingly absorbed back right into her body.
She stretched both her hands to the side before just sticking her wrists together and pointing her palms at Riley, and as she released her breath…
…she suddenly teleported behind the still regenerating Riley; the colors around her instantly died as it drowned from the blinding light that released from the palm of her hands – it wasn't a beam at all, but rather almost an attack directly from the heavens as it just completely obliterated even the concept of space as it shot toward Riley's back instantly.
"Die!" V once again let out a roar as Riley's entire silhouette almost turned spiral along with the space around him; his flesh being torn from the inside out; his bones shredding down to the atoms – but of course, his body was already healing at the same time too.
And very soon, Riley's entire body just became whole as he fully healed. V did not seem to care at all about this, however, as a smirk even crawled on her face.
"Pavoom," she then whispered – and as she did so, Riley's entire body ballooned up, with his eyes even popping out of his sockets before a wild explosion just thundered across the Grand Triangle, completely deleting anything that was unfortunately in its path.
The explosion, as strong as a million supernovas – enough to destroy several galaxies, enough to destroy the Grand Triangle itself…
…but it didn't.
It was not able to since V contained the explosion so that no one innocent would actually be affected by her powers and rage anymore… not anymore.
Instead, the explosion just started flowing through Riley's body like they had a life of their own – eating away at his very existence; supernovas, acting like they were just whispers as they completely obliterated Riley.
How that was even possible, well… who knows? Logic does not apply to gods.
Very soon, however, Riley caught those supernovas with his hands, collecting them one by one; millions of them in a single second and just clapped his hands to completely wither them away.
He did not stop clapping, however – as he started clapping for V afterward; the smile on his face, showed how impressed he was.
"As I said, you have grown stronger far more than I could have even imagined, Victoria," Riley's entire body just casually became whole again as he looked Victoria in the eyes, "Perhaps if the Domain of the Gods still served its purpose, you would be there right now. Sadly…
…I am afraid that I am still stronger."
"You…" V heard the almost sad tone seeping from Riley's voice. She then let out a small sigh as she closed her eyes – and as she opened them again, an even more violent trickle of electricity started rampaging out of them as she once again rushed toward Riley,
"...Infinite Volt."
V then let out a whisper as her entire body just turned into a clump of lightning – she was not even human anymore, but just the very concept of lightning itself… no, she was beyond that.
And very soon, she just started attacking Riley with kicks and punches – attacking a billion times in less than a second – each punch, capable of destroying an entire planet. But alas, none of them really connected as it all just went through Riley like he did not exist at all.
"Stop it, Victoria," Riley then just let out a small but very deep sigh as he caught both of V's punch; not her fists, but her wrists, "You are not able to kill me – you are strong, incredibly so. But you just can't. Why do you even want to kill me anymore? Just move on with–"
"Because I am in love with you, Riley," V's body once again materialized, "And it is disgusting – and the only way to kill that part of myself…
…is to kill you."
