Transmigrated As A Villain, The Heroines Are Also Regressors?

Chapter 142 Interrogation (2)

Chapter 142 Interrogation (2)

After coughing violently for a brief second, Lai Ho, who felt an extremely sharp pain in his head, slowly opened his eyes and scanned around the dimly lit room while still bounded to the metal chair.

From there, he could see two blurred figures standing just a couple of meters way from him.

Although he couldn't see exactly who the two blurred figures were since the room was too dim and the sharp pain in his head was heavily affecting his vision, he could distinctively make out a fully iced out diamond watch that the figure closest to him was wearing.

And considering that he has also seen a fully iced out diamond watch back at the hospital, he knew that there was only one person this could be...

'Master Kuangge... so he's finally unvailed his mask.'

Even though the dark-hooded men that seemed like they were from a different organizations were the ones that had abducted him back at the hospital, he had long deduced that Ronald was the one that had secretly orchestrated his kidnapping and used those men as a cover up.

After all, he was certain that the Lai family hasn't offended someone that powerful in awhile now, and the only time he has ever intertwined with such an incredibly strong opponent was when he tried to rescue Ling Feng, therefore indirectly involving the family in a feud between two extremely strong forces.

Still, he doesn't regret it though.

As long as his family can help Ling Feng get rid of Ronald and perhaps even the tyrannical Kuangge family, which he felt like was definitely possible albeit he couldn't explain why, then not only will the Lai family benefit from this, but so will the entirety of China.

Upon hearing Lai Ho's sudden coughing, Ronald couldn't help but discreetly shake his head.

Quite frankly, he wasn't even surprised at this point.

Even though it had been 3 days since Kedron had last interrogated Lai Ho and he fell unconscious, it definitely wasn't a mere coincidence that Lai Ho had randomly decided to regain consciousness again just when Ronald and Iris were also present in the basement.

No, this was actually his villain aura coming into fruition once again.

And to be honest, it had activated at a very bad time this time.

After all, he didn't want Lai Ho to get the impression that he was the one who had actually kidnapped him, which was mostly why he never went down to the basement until now.

But oh well, since Lai Ho is fully awake and is staring at him disdainfully now, he might as well try to make the most out of it and try to learn some more cool things about China before he sends him back to the Lai family.

"Sup, old man." Ronald took a few more steps forward until he was a few inches away from Lai Ho and smiled arrogantly, "You know who I am, don't you?"

"..." Keeping up with the same attitude he had back when the dark-hooded mens were the ones interrogating him, Lai Ho looked at the still blurry Ronald stoically and didn't answer back.

"Haha, of course you've heard of my greatness before, I don't even know why I'm asking. Old man, you know why you're here, right?" Ronald boasted.

Still no response.

"Are you going to answer me? Or has your senile old brain stopped functioning properly." Ronald lifted up his foot onto the corner of the metal chair and slightly leaned forward, resting one of his arms on his thighs.

"..."

"Hey! Fucking answer me!" Maintaining his original personality, Ronald pretended to go in a fit of rage and kicked the chair, causing it to tip onto the floor and vibrate for a few seconds.

But even after Lai Ho had banged his head onto the back of the chair, forcing his pupils to dilate, he still showed no signs of talking whatsoever.

"Alright you stubborn old man, if you don't answer me in the next 5 seconds then I'm going to-" Before Ronald could finish threatening Lai Ho however...

"Young Master, may I try interrogating him alone?"

Upon hearing the question whispered into his ears, Ronald tilted his head slightly to the side and glanced at Iris dumbfoundedly.

"Why alone? What's wrong with me being here?" Assuming that Iris was still thinking about trying to straight up murder Lai Ho in cold blood, Ronald whispered back.

"Young Master, even if you threaten to kill him, it's obvious that he has no intentions of ever talking to you, but if you leave me alone with him however, perhaps I can get him to talk." Iris whispered with certainty.

Since she had a keen eye at reading human emotions, she was able to notice that Lai Ho was staring at Ronald in a certain way despite his pupils being dilated.

And the way that he is looking at Ronald, she was all too familiar with it.

It was the same look that literally almost woman Ronald has interacted with in the previous life gave to him...

Looks of pure disgust and hatred.

Plus, considering that she had also worked with Lai Ho and the Lai family back in the past when she was still on Ye Fan's side, she knew that Ronald's threats wouldn't work on them and would just anger him more.

"Hmm... you know what, sure. You know what questions to ask, right?" Even though Ronald had no idea what Iris wanted to interrogate Lai Ho about, since she insisted, he couldn't possibly refuse.

After all, considering that the system has granted him exceptional hearing, coupled with the fact that he could easily mute Lai Ho from afar if he needs to, this is a good chance to get to know this current Iris a little bit better.

"Yes, Young Master." Iris responded indifferently.

"Okay, make me proud then." Ronald smirked arrogantly at Iris, and then slowly walked upstairs back into the living room.

Once the door could be heard closing behind her, Iris went behind Lai Ho and stood up the chair to which he was bounded to.

Then while she was still behind the chair, she grabbed the back of his head with her right hand and began transferring some of her dagger's qi that was still in her right hand directly into both Lai Ho's brain and eyeballs, causing his vision to fully recover.

Afterwards, she stood in front of Lai Ho and untied the four black ropes that bounded him to the chair, both at the arms and the legs.

"Former Lieutenant General and War Hero, Lai Ho. You're free to leave." Iris spoke in her monotonic voice.

Lai Ho, who was still trying to process everything inside his head, couldn't help but look at the maid half-wrapped in bandages with utter shock in his eyes.

He just didn't understand it at all.

How did the maid in front of him manage to remove his headache and cure the terrible vision he had simply by touching the back of his head?

And why did the maid decided to unbind him from a chair and let him go just like that when not even a minute ago she had told that tyrannical brute that she wanted to interrogate him alone?

As much as he wanted to ask these questions however, since he still had his suspicions, he decided that it was better not to say anything for now.

So Lai Ho cautiously got up from the chair while still keeping his eyes on the motionless maid and began slowly walking towards the staircases.

As soon as he had walked right past her however, he felt a very light tap right on his neck, and before he knew it, excruciating pain coursed through his entire body, causing him to collapse onto the floor.

The pain was so intense in fact that it felt like his entire body was disintegrating.

It was honestly a miracle that he somehow hasn't somehow fallen unconscious or even died yet.

"War Hero, I don't care whether or not you have a grudge against Young Master Kuangge, but when he asks you a question, you answer him." Iris then kicked him to the side and grabbed him by the neck, "Now before I force your entire Lai family to go through this same pain, tell me everything you know about the person who kidnapped you."

"..." Hearing that his family was being threatened to go through the same exact pain that even he himself can't currently endure, Lai Ho tried his best to open his mouth and speak up, however since the maid was grabbing him by the neck, coupled with the fact that the pain was too overbearing, he couldn't talk whatsoever.

But just by judging from the extremely cold and ruthless eyes that the maid was now directing at him, he knew that if he doesn't talk whatsoever, she'll definitely go through with her word.

And his family meant everything to him.

Thus, after managing to muster whatever energy he had left, Lai Ho finally began speaking.

"I... I know that he's the Young Master of the Kuangge fam-" Before he could say anything else though, the grip around his neck tightened up slightly further, causing him to briefly lose his train of thought.

"I meant about the ones that brought you here, not Young Master Kuangge."

"I- I'm not sure, I only know that their leader wears a black cloak and a black leather face mask." Lai Ho couldn't help but groan multiple times in agony as he spoke.

"That's it? Not even their names?" Although Iris felt that Lai Ho was telling the truth as he would have no reason to lie, she still found it very hard to believe.

If Lai Ho truly didn't know who the masked assassin she had recently killed was and got randomly chosen to get kidnapped, then she should've heard about his kidnapping through public broadcasts, similarly to when Princess Sophia had been kidnapped.

After all, let alone the Lai Family, no family in their right mind would try to keep such an information hidden from the public unless if they were trying to hide something else.

"N-no, they just suddenly came out of nowhere and attacked us a few seconds right after we met Master Kuangge and his friends at the private hospital."

"Private hospital? What were you doing there?" Recalling that Lai Ho had never once stepped into a hospital and would get doctors to come visit his villa instead in her previous life, Iris responded suspiciously.

"I was trying to give a young man named Ling Feng a heart transplant." Feeling that the maid knew all of this information already and was testing whether he was telling the truth or not, Lai Ho responded truthfully.

"Why?"

Let alone be a person of importance, not once has Iris ever even heard of the name Ling Feng before.

No interactions with him, no mentions of him, nothing.

But the fact that Lai Ho was willing to visit him at the hospital and show him face meant that he held this person in a high regard.

"It's because I can't afford to let the young man die... not when he has a treatment for my illness."

After hearing what Lai Ho stated, Iris went silent.

She knew that Lai Ho definitely wasn't lying to her at all now since she knew about his illness from her past life despite his entire family trying to be very lowkey about it.

The thing though was that there is no modern medicine out there in the world that could currently cure Lai Ho.

So if this 'Ling Feng' has, or claims to have a remedy for Lai Ho's illness, that means that he's either a scam artist trying to make a quick buck...

Or he's a cultivator with some basic knowledge in alchemy.

"When and where did you first meet this Ling Feng?" Iris inquired further.

"I-I'll answer you, but please put me down first and get rid of this pain. It's hard to talk to you like this." Lai Ho requested.

So Iris dropped him down on the floor and applied pressure to the back of his neck in order to alleviate the agonizing pain in his body.

Just before Lai Ho could even have time to do anything else however...

"AAGH!" Lai Ho reflectively shouted in agony as he could feel one of his legs being twisted backwards.

"Answer."

"I-I first met Mr. Ling back about a week ago while I was taking a walk at the nearby park with my granddaughter." Still fearful that the maid in front of him was going to torture his family if he doesn't talk fast enough, Lai Ho tried his best to ignore his broken legs and talked fast.

"The park that's in the Supreme Splendor's Garden?"

"C-correct." Lai Ho tightly held his broken legs as he said.

"And did you see him do anything out of the ordinary while he was there?"

"Y-yes, prior to being acquainted to him, I saw him sitting next to a Willow Tree in a lotus position." Lai Ho explained.

"..." Iris fell deep into thought.

The Supreme Splendor's Garden is considered one of the most prestigious high-end residential area in the capital city due to the fact that it contains multiple famous landmarks such as the Youhu Lake, Longxiu Peak, and Songxi Falls.

As such, even a single bungalow in this area would cost typically about 10 million yuan just to buy alone.

What's mainly important though is that since the Supreme Splendor's Garden was very well maintained, the air around the area is very clean and pure, thus allowing for an abundance of qi to naturally flow throughout its vicinity.

Essentially, it's an ideal place for people to cultivate.

Now of course, since it was a high-end residential area however, most of its areas were completely gated off.

However, some of the areas are completely open to the public, and the park is one of them.

So the fact that Lai Ho claims that he saw this Ling Feng at the park sitting in a lotus position means without a shadow of a doubt that this Ling Feng person is indeed a cultivator.

But since that's the case, then why does he need a heart transplant to begin with?

Every cultivator's hearts, no matter how weak it may be, can easily function much better than that of an average person because of the qi they have in their dantian.

And sure, while he might have been in a similar predicament to hers where he had to fight someone significantly much more stronger than him and got his heart completely decimated in the process, she was still positive that as long as Ling Feng didn't fight a golden core cultivator or someone who knew how attack a soul directly, then he would've been able to quickly make a pill that could reconstruct his heart back into its original state using alchemy without any outside help.

But if she can recall correctly, there should be no known golden core cultivators actually alive at this time.

Not to mention that even if he did actually fight someone like that, then let alone his heart, every golden core cultivator wouldn't hesitate to completely wipe his entire body off from the face of this world.

'Something's not adding up here.'

After pondering it over for a few more seconds however, she suddenly realized something.

"War hero. Tell me what caused Ling Feng to undergo a heart transplant." Iris's indifferent demeanor suddenly shifted into a more murderous one, and she asked in a more menacing tone.

"...It was due to Master Kuangge stomping on Mr. Ling's chest and causing his heart to disintegrate." Although Lai Ho wasn't afraid of the killing intent the maid was now releasing, he still hesitated for a second before speaking.

"And where did this take place?" Iris questioned.

"I-in the Hyatt Casino the day after I met him."

"..." Hearing this, Iris didn't ask any more questions and just stared at Lai Ho silently.

It was exactly as she had suspected.

Similar to the assassin she had killed recently, this Ling Feng guy is most likely another person conspiring against Ronald.

After all, a cultivator fabricating a story about needing a heart transplant after getting his heart stomped out by Ronald absolutely serves no purpose other than to ruin Ronald's already tarnished reputation even further.

But as for whether or not he was the mastermind pulling all the strings behind the scenes was something she knew she couldn't determine for now.

Nevertheless, since she now knows for a certain that a cultivator of an unknown realm is currently targetting Ronald, she couldn't afford to waste any more time with Lai Ho and needed to get stronger even faster than she already was...

No matter the consequences.

So with that in mind, Iris glared at Lai Ho one more time before suddenly vanishing from his vision.

"W-where did yo-" Just as Lai Ho could finish his sentence however...

BOOM!

Iris grabbed the back of his head once again, but instead of transferring qi directly to his head like last time, this time she smashed his skull down to the floor, causing him to immediately lose consciousness.

"War Hero, for inconveniencing Young Master Kuangge, I'll make you watch your whole family die infront of your eyes after I deal with Ling Feng." Iris left some final departing words to Lai Ho before quickly going back upstairs to the living room.

There, she could see that Ronald was casually sitting down on the couch with his legs ontop of the table.

"Young Master." Iris took a deep breath and then spoke in a respectful manner.

"Oh, uhh, what's up Iris?" Ronald, who had actually secretly saw Iris transferring qi to Lai Ho's head and has been pondering about how she did it when she wasn't even in the Qi Transformation Realm ever since, snapped out of his dazed state and replied back.

"There's something I need for you to do, Young Master."
