Chapter 127 Meeting The King

Chapter 127 Meeting The King

A carriage rolled in the street of the Capital City, heading towards a tall building in the distance.

People walking in the street and even the ones selling items all stopped just to stare at the carriage.

Well, it was to be expected, because with a glance, they could all tell that it was the type of carriage that could levitate, even though it was moving on the ground now.

This was the Capital City of Ainsley Kingdom, so of course, it wasn't like this was the first time they were seeing a carriage that can levitate.

The thing drawing their attention the most was the insignia on the carriage.

A man paused, staring at the carriage as it moved. "Isn't that the insignia of the well-known Greenfield Academy?"

"Exactly! I thought I was seeing things for a while."

"I'm very sure the students aren't on holiday yet, so maybe it's a teacher?"

"But still... What business would a teacher of the Academy have here? And moreover, if they took an Academy carriage, it must be serious."

What even made the people of the Capital City more concerned was the fact that the carriage was moving towards the Castle. They had never seen an Academy carriage going to the Castle before.

Though, since it didn't look like there was any threat or emergency, they carried on with their activities.

The carriage finally reached the Castle, stopping in front of the large gate.

There were four guards stationed in front of the gate, two each on the right and left side.

Immediately after the carriage stopped, a handsome boy with blue hair stepped out with a small smile on his face. He was wearing the Greenfield Academy's uniform.

He exchanged some words with the man who rode the carriage before walking towards the gate where the guards were present.

Immediately as he reached the gate, one of the guards opened it before speaking, "The King is waiting for you in the throne room."

Alex nodded his head as he glanced at the other guards before walking inside.

The compound was large, as expected of a Castle. From where he stood, he could see the training grounds and some other smaller buildings that weren't too far from the main Castle itself.

His eyes darted towards the door of the main Castle, but before he could walk towards it, the door suddenly opened, and a maid walked out.

She stopped a few distances away from Alex and lowered her head. "Please, come with me, Sir Alex."

Alex nodded his head. He knew that she was sent by the King to lead him to the throne room.

The maid turned back and began walking, with Alex following behind her.

They both entered the Castle and took the stairs. Alex didn't bother glancing at the luxurious things; it wasn't like this was the first time he was seeing things like that.

Finally, they reached a door, and without wasting time, the maid knocked on it.

Just as quickly as she knocked, a man's voice was heard from inside.

"Come in."

The maid opened the door and lowered her head again. "Sir Alex has arrived."

Immediately after she said this, she turned back and left, leaving way for Alex to enter the throne room.

The room was large, and just like the Vampire Kingdom, there were two thrones present.

At the left and right sides of the room, there were luxurious chairs, and most of them were occupied by individuals who wore luxurious clothes.

From their dressing, one could guess that they were dukes or barons.

Immediately after Alex entered the room, they all looked at him. Some had smiles on their faces, while the expressions of others were unreadable.

"Welcome, Alex!"

A voice boomed in the throne room. It came from the man who was seated on one of the thrones. He wore royal attire, and a crown was seated on his head.

He had short blonde hair and sharp blue eyes. From the look in his eyes and his posture, he radiated the authority of a King as he stared at Alex.

Alex instantly lowered his head. "Greetings, Your Majesty."

He paused for a second before he continued, "Greetings, great nobles."

The nobles were yet to say anything ever since Alex entered the room. Some of them just nodded their heads in response to his greeting.

A grin formed on the King's face as he glanced at the nobles. "We'll continue this discussion later."

His eyes darted back to Alex, whose head was still lowered, as he squinted his eyes. "For now, I have something to discuss with Alex..... In private."

"Understood, My King," they all said in unison as they stood up and began leaving the throne room.

Some of them glanced at Alex as they walked past him. It was clear that there were a few of them who didn't like him..... It was quite obvious.

'Ugh..... Damn nobles,' Alex thought as he waited for all of them to completely leave the room.

Finally, it was just him and the King.

"Hahaha!" Rowan Ainsley, the King, laughed as he stared at Alex. "When Orion told me about the meeting, I was slightly surprised, but then, I realized that there are really things we need to talk about."

Alex smiled. "Yes, and some of them are serious issues."

"Hmm, I know," Rowan said, his expression slowly turning serious. "Just know that the time is coming when this Kingdom will really need you more than ever."

"Of course," Alex said. "I know that. And I'll be more than ready to defend this Kingdom with my life."

Rowan smiled. "I believe you."

Alex glanced at the second throne that was empty. 'She's not around, huh? That's even better. She doesn't seem to like me around, and I don't like her either. She annoys me.'

He diverted his attention back to the King.

"So, what is the issue, Alex?" Rowan asked.

Alex's expression turned serious as he stared at the King. "Like you already know, it's about the Vampires."

"After the last war, they disappeared for two years, but now, I've come in contact with three of them in such a short timeframe."

Alex furrowed his brows. "I can feel it... Another war is coming..."
