Chapter 126 Arin vs Valtor

"Let's finish this quickly, shall we?"

Valtor gripped his sword tightly, his gaze fixated on Arin. He didn't even want to let him out of his sight.

Arin raised his right hand as Water Spikes and Blood Spikes formed above him. And with a flick of his fingers...

Seeing the attacks, Valtor squinted his eyes as dark spikes quickly formed behind him, just as many as Arin's spikes.

Valtor crouched, and with a burst of speed, he began closing the distance between him and Arin, a confident but cautious look in his eyes.

Arin smirked as he bent his knees slightly, taking a stance, and then...

The ground beneath him shattered as he dashed towards Valtor, who was also incoming.

Their eyes locked as they reached each other, ready to strike.

In that same moment, Arin's sword reached him.

Immediately as Arin's sword came in contact with the dark energy, a small explosion sound was heard.

The barrier seemed to be pushing Arin's sword back, and immediately Arin noticed this, he grinned.

Still mid-air, he activated his Aura Skill, and a red aura instantly enveloped him. He quickly spread that aura to his sword, adding force.

Because of this, the force trying to push his sword back was becoming less effective, and within seconds...

Valtor's barrier shattered, leaving him open again.

Though, immediately his barrier shattered, he leaped back, distancing himself.

Arin and Valtor both stared at each other, their eyes intense.

"I still have some tricks," Valtor said, his eyes still fixated on Arin.

Arin squinted his eyes. "You sure are confident...."

Suddenly...

WHOOSH!

Black portals, similar to the one behind Arin, began appearing around them, forming a circle around them. The only difference was that a small hum was coming from the portals.

Arin looked around, staring at the portals, and that was when Valtor flicked his fingers.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Dark spikes instantly began coming out from all the portals with intense speed, heading straight toward Arin.

Arin smiled slightly as he slammed his hand on the ground, forming a Water Bubble around himself. He was inside his own smaller Water Bubble inside the large Water Bubble he created to trap himself and Valtor.

Still able to see from inside the Water Bubble, Arin glanced around, observing all the spikes that were hitting the Water Bubble, trying to destroy it. 'I don't intend to stay inside this Water Bubble till the spikes stop. I trust the Aura Skill....'

Immediately after having that thought, Arin instantly deactivated the Water Bubble Spell, making it disappear.

Meanwhile, Valtor was already preparing another attack for Arin. In front of him, his dark energy was forming what looked to be a boulder, ready to attack Arin with it.

'I originally planned to use this to destroy that Water Barrier of his,' Valtor thought. 'But since he has come out, he'll just be the one to receive the attack instead.'

With that, Valtor poured more energy into the portals, increasing the spikes coming out from them.

WHOOSH!

Arin glanced at the attack Valtor was preparing before focusing back on the incoming spikes.

He raised his sword and exhaled lightly. 'I'll finish this in one go....'

Immediately after activating the Overheat Skill, red smoke began oozing out from Arin's body. He could feel his blood boiling, along with the rush of strength that felt... intoxicating.

But Arin controlled himself as he took his stance. Time seemed to slow down as he observed the spikes in front of him that weren't too far from him anymore.

Now, Arin had almost reached Valtor.

Immediately as Valtor realized this, he poured more energy into the energy boulder he was creating.

Meanwhile, Arin sped up, dashing towards Valtor.

But before he reached Valtor, he suddenly threw his sword with force upwards as it moved high, passing above Valtor.

Ignoring the fact that Arin threw his sword above him, Valtor instantly launched his attack.

"AGHHHH! DIE!"

In a swift motion, the huge energy boulder rushed towards Arin, who didn't stop for even a second.

With the momentum at which he was moving, it looked like the boulder would hit him, but Arin had other plans.

Before the energy boulder could hit him, he suddenly moved both hands backwards, and in an instant...

He activated his new Water Element Spell, Water Surge, as he moved his hands forward again with force, towards the incoming boulder.

A great mass of water instantly formed on his hands, and with a thrust, he moved it towards the energy boulder.

Both attacks reached each other, and then...

BOOM!

The force of the water was so strong that the energy boulder was destroyed instantly.

But Arin didn't stop moving.

In an instant, he pressed his feet on the ground, and strengthened by his Aura and Overheat Skills, he leaped up high into the sky, even passing above Valtor.

Immediately after passing Valtor, Arin increased his landing speed.

The ground cracked from the force of Arin's landing, and the moment he landed, he raised his right hand, instantly catching his sword that just came down.

This was why he made sure to land quickly—so he could reach the ground before his sword and catch it.

Valtor had already turned back, looking at Arin with fear evident in his eyes. Refusing to back down, he gripped his sword and was about to turn back fully to dash towards Arin, but then...

Valtor didn't wait for Arin to reply. He instantly swung his sword, sending slashes made of dark Energy rushing towards Arin.

Unfazed, Arin began walking forward. "There's something I was almost forgetting to try..."

Instantly, a wave of purple Energy erupted from Arin's body, spreading out in all directions.

The first set of slashes that had almost reached Arin suddenly began changing trajectory.

Some veered to the left, some to the right, while others even reversed their path—heading straight back towards Valtor himself.

"W... Wh.... What is the meaning of this.....?" Valtor stammered, his grip on his sword tightening. "I don't understand....."

A shiver ran down his spine, but he refused to stop attacking. He quickly conjured more spikes and slashes, launching them toward Arin with even greater intensity.

However, the result was the same.

Before they could reach him, they suddenly shifted in random directions, their paths twisting unnaturally. Some flew off into the distance, others circled around harmlessly, and many even rebounded back at him.

The few that managed to stay on course and reach Arin were effortlessly deflected with simple flicks of his sword.

Valtor's mind raced as panic set in. His heart pounded in his chest as his eyes burned with dark Energy. 'There's one more thing I can do...'

Instantly, the dark Energy surrounding his body surged, increasing in intensity. His entire frame trembled as if struggling to contain the sheer power gathering within him.

At the same time, the dark Energy around him began shifting unnaturally. Like living tendrils, it extended and expanded, stretching outward as though forming additional limbs.

A wicked grin crept onto Valtor's face as he burst into crazed laughter.

"Hahaha! This is it for you! You'll perish her—"

"Shut the hell up."

Valtor barely had time to process the words before—

Arin suddenly appeared in front of him, closing the distance in an instant.

Valtor's breath hitched as his mind struggled to comprehend the sheer speed at which Arin had moved. His eyes darted downward, and that's when he felt it—

Arin's right hand was pressed firmly against his face, his sharp claws digging lightly into Valtor's forehead, scraping against his skin.

A wave of terror crashed over Valtor as he met Arin's gaze.

Arin's eyes glowed a deep, menacing red as he leaned in, whispering coldly—

"I told you that you've lost already, right...?"

And in that instant...

Arin slammed Valtor's head on the ground with immense force, instantly spreading cracks across the ground.

Letting go of his head, he pointed his sword at Valtor, and without saying anything, he stabbed his forehead, killing him instantly.
