The tension in the air was thick as Hugo and Lily stood at opposite sides of the volleyball court.

It had been an intense game, with Hugo barely managing to stay afloat against Lily's overwhelming skill.

Actually, he didn't even manage to stay afloat. He was already thousands of metres underwater and he was still sinking. Heck, he had even passed submarine level!

But now, everything was about to come down to this.

Hugo wiped the sweat from his forehead and tried to get into the zone. This was it. This was his chance to redeem himself.

Lily was grinning from ear to ear, clearly enjoying the game far more than she should. "Ready, Hugo?" she asked, her eyes sparkling.

Hugo felt like he was on the verge of cracking under the pressure, but he couldn't let her see that. He needed to win.

Not just for his pride, but also because he couldn't let another bet slip away. He had already lost to Loli—he couldn't afford to lose again.

Lily served the ball.

It was a fast, curving spike straight toward Hugo's face. He barely managed to dodge it, jumping to the side at the last second. The ball sailed past him and landed out of bounds.

"What the hell? That was close!" Hugo thought, his heart racing.

But Lily wasn't backing down. She smirked.

"Your move, Hugo," she said. "This is gonna be a fun final round."

He clenched his fists. "Alright, Hugo, it's time to show her what you've got!"

Hugo served the ball with all his strength, sending it flying toward Lily. He could see her eyes narrow as she prepared for the return.

It was a hard hit, but she expertly bumped it up with precision.

Lily's spike came down like a thunderbolt, and Hugo barely had time to react. He jumped but missed. The ball smacked the ground.

0-2, Lily.

"She's too good!" Hugo cursed under his breath.

Lily looked at him and winked. "It's all in the wrist."

Hugo couldn't help but laugh, even though he was losing terribly. She was just too skilled. Besides, there were a lot more things she could do with a good wrist...

He had to get it together. This was his last chance to win. For wristy!

As the game progressed, Hugo tried his best to rally. His serves were getting better, and for a moment, he even thought he might have a chance at winning. But no.

Every time he started gaining a little ground, Lily crushed his hopes with one insane play after another. She was just on another level.

The scoreboard was starting to look embarrassing.

"C'mon, Hugo. You gotta do something!" he thought, his hands shaking. It wasn't going to happen.

Finally, Lily served the ball once again, and this time, it was the final point. Hugo leaped, stretching his arms as far as he could, but—

Lily sent the ball flying with perfect precision. The ball hit the ground before Hugo could even blink.

And that was it. The game was over.

Hugo stood frozen in place for a moment, just staring at the ground in disbelief. "I lost again?!" He couldn't believe it. He had lost for the second time in a row?

Was he such a bad player at everything?!

His mind immediately jumped to the two previous bets he had made with the girls—and lost both.

"What the hell is wrong with me?!" he thought. "What happened to my winning streak?"

Hugo tried to recover quickly, but his pride was already taking a hit. He wasn't about to let it show though.

"Okay, okay. You won. But don't think it was because you're just that good," he said, trying to hide his embarrassment. "I let you win. It was a mercy victory."

He would show her the peak of shamelessness.

Lily raised an eyebrow, her smile widening. "Sure, Hugo. Whatever you say."

"Yup. Totally a mercy victory," Hugo continued, laying down on the gym floor with his arms sprawled out. "I'm just too generous."

Surprisingly, the sport was actually quite tiring. Even his breathing was uneven.

Lily laid down beside him, her body pressed against his as she plopped down with a soft huff. For a second, there was silence between them.

Hugo glanced over at her, feeling the warmth of her presence beside him. He wanted to say something, but couldn't find the words.

Finally, he broke the silence. "So…" He paused, looking up at the ceiling, trying to find a random question. "What's the craziest thing you've ever done?"

Lily turned to face him, a small smirk playing on her lips. She leaned on one arm and said, "Make out with you?"

Hugo's jaw dropped. "Wait, what?!"

He blinked. "Wait… what?"

Lily nodded, her eyes dim with shyness. "Yup. That's the craziest thing I've done so far."

Hugo was shocked. His brain froze for a moment as he processed what she just said. "Wait a minute. Did she just say…?"

He suddenly had a very shocking premonition...

He cleared his throat awkwardly. "Are you—uh, are you a virgin?"

Lily didn't hesitate. "Yes, I am."

Hugo's brain practically exploded.

"Wait, she's a virgin?!"

He blinked, looking over at her as if his world had just shattered. She didn't look like it—she was too confident, too flirty. He couldn't believe it.

This was shocking.

Hugo rubbed his face, trying to make sense of everything. There was so much going on in his head that it felt like his thoughts were all tangled up in a crazy mess.
