Hugo lay on the gym floor, his brain still short circuiting from Lily's unexpected confession.

'Wait… Lily? A virgin?'

Hugo sighed dramatically, already plotting his revenge.

'Fine. If I can't touch Lily tonight… I'll just have to settle the score.'

He had decided. The moment he got back to his dorm, he was calling Dirtydew.

"Take the boy down. I don't care how. Just do it."

But outwardly, Hugo simply smiled and said, "Alright, I'll take you home."

Lily's relieved expression quickly softened, and before he could react, she wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug.

Then, in a voice so soft it barely reached his ears, she whispered, "I love you."

Hugo froze.

His heart clenched.

Not because he didn't care. Not because he wasn't happy.

But because—just like the first time she had said it… he still couldn't say it back.

So instead, he cupped her face, tilted her chin up, and kissed her again.

"Mmmm—"

Softly. Slowly. Gently.

Maybe he couldn't say the words.

But at least, this way… he could show her.
