Chapter 199 Financial Epiphany.
[Part 9/12 of today's Mass release! Here you go fellas! Big Shout-out to Dirtydew!]
Hugo's brain was still spinning from the bet Lily had just made.
"Three commands. ANY three things you want."
Oh.
OH.
Hugo's brain short circuited. 'Three commands. THREE. Anything I say.'
The second those words were confirmed in his brain, his thoughts blasted off like a rocket.
'Wait. THREE? I get THREE things I can tell her to do? No questions asked?!'
His mind started going into overdrive. Immediately, the most lewd and intense thoughts popped into his head. He was tempted to make her do all kinds of crazy things.
Images of Lily in all sorts of situations—wearing a maid outfit, giving him a waterbed massage, feeding him grapes like a Roman emperor— flooded his imagination.
"No, no, no! Focus, Hugo!" he told himself, realizing he was spiraling into dangerous territory.
He was wearing sweatpants. He had to maintain control of his thoughts...
Still...
"I could make her call me 'Master' for a whole day… or have her act like my personal assistant and then take her on a desk… or—"
He shook his head violently, forcing himself to focus.
"Calm down, Hugo. Think with your head, not your hormones."
Still, this bet? It was absolutely legendary.
But now came the real question—should he use his Mastery Points to cheat and guarantee victory? After all, volleyball wasn't his thing—he wasn't about to let Lily make a fool of him.
He rubbed his chin, deep in serious contemplation.
Mastery Points were precious, allowing him to instantly gain skills without training. But was volleyball really the best thing to use them on?
The only reason he had spent all those mastery points during the game with Loli was simply because the punishment if he lost the dare was too disastrous!
Even just imagining it was enough to make him shudder!
This bet was different. The loss wasn't even a punishment. It simply meant more time with Lily. It wasn't bad at all.
The win though, was even better. It was simply too tempting!
But then, he had a moment of genius—a financial epiphany.
Something clicked in his mind.
'Hold up. I could use these Mastery Points for something way smarter. What if I used them to master a skill I can make money with? I mean, volleyball mastery is cool, but how is that gonna help me in the long run?'
Suddenly, he had an idea. He could use the points to master something that would actually make him rich!
Like learning stock trading, or high stakes gambling.
'Yeah! Mastering volleyball doesn't compare to making money!' he thought with a satisfied grin.
With his decision made, Hugo was ready for anything. But then, his mind went back to the game. Could he really lose? He had to win this.
But then, he remembered.
'No way. I'm not going to be that guy who's getting used by his girl. Nope. Not gonna happen.'
After a second of serious thinking, Hugo made his decision—he was not going to cheat. He didn't need to waste his precious Mastery Points on volleyball.
Instead, he focused.
'I've got this. I'm gonna win this fair and square!'
The stage was set. Hugo and Lily started planning out the game format. The rules were simple: First to 21 points wins.
They were about to start when Hugo took a deep breath.
"Alright, Hugo. Time to show her what you're made of."
They started the game.
---
The first serve was all Lily's.
Hugo barely had time to get ready before the ball was coming at him, spinning fast.
"Okay, no big deal. I can do this. Just like tennis, right?"
But then, Lily's serve was perfect. The ball zoomed across the court faster than Hugo could even blink.
BAM!
It slammed right into Hugo's face!
"What the hell!?" he yelled, stumbling backward, trying to regain his balance. He could feel the sting on his cheek where the ball hit.
Lily giggled. "Sorry, didn't mean to give you a free lesson."
Hugo wiped his face, trying to look cool, but on the inside, he was screaming.
3-0. Lily was winning.
The game went on, and Hugo was struggling. It felt like Lily was in another league compared to him.
She was so fast, her spikes were so accurate, and every time Hugo tried to return the ball, he messed up.
5-0.
7-0.
10-2.
Lily was destroying him. She was too good!
"Okay, no. This is not how I imagined this going."
At this point, Hugo was just trying to keep the score from being an absolute embarrassment to his lineage.
But Lily wasn't letting up—every time he missed, she just smiled and gave him that mocking look, making it clear she was in control.
But then, something happened. As they reached 18-3, Lily stopped. She turned to Hugo, a grin spreading across her face.
"Actually," she said with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "How about we change the format for the last point?"
Hugo's eyebrows shot up. "What? Change it now? After I've been losing like this?"
Lily nodded. "Yeah. I think you could use a better chance to win. And it'll make the final point more exciting."
Hugo's mind raced.
"Wait. She's trying to give me a chance to win? This is a trap, isn't it?"
But at the same time, he couldn't help but feel hopeful. Maybe this was his comeback moment.
"Okay," he said, smiling. "What's your proposal?"
Lily leaned in, lowering her voice, her eyes gleaming.
"I'll make it a tie-breaker. One final serve, but if I win, you still owe me the bet. If you win, you can get the three commands, and we'll forget the games."
Hugo was on the edge of his seat. This was it. The final deciding match.
He had to win. Experience tales at My Virtual Library Empire
