Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 712 Use me

Chapter 712 Use me

Rain still didn't know the situation on the other side and while Rain couldn't see smoke coming from the eastern side, they had more fire dragons there… even with the magic squads supporting them, Liss and Asche will need help eventually.

Rain's best option was to use the shield alongside his spear again, but he didn't want to take chances with the shield and make it grow more powerful or risk unsealing whatever the hell was there…

While Rain was thinking, the fire dragons kept trying to close in while using their fire breath, the earth dragons also stepped backward and then fired numerous earth spears at him… the spinning ice spear protected Rain, but it would break eventually at that rate, even if Rain used half of his mana to make that.

"Why are you so hesitant? Use me."

"I don't want to hear this from you… only from my wives, they would never say it though," Rain said while frowning. "They are shy kittens at night."

The fire dragons soon fired massive fireballs that exploded upon impact and that increased the temperature in the area, forcing Rain to put his head on the game again. Even without using the shield all the time, he had a few tricks up his sleeve.

Rain began to fly around the area and forced the dragons to raise their guard… their confusion only increased further when they soon saw the ice spear flying as well, but in the opposite direction. It was clear what Rain was planning… the enemies were unable to attack both of them while they were flying so fast and soon they tried to spread out to have more chances to attack.

The first ones to try to escape the encirclement had been the fire dragons, they flew upward with all their might, but they ended up exposing their backs. Rain didn't hesitate in hitting all of them with the spear… while he didn't cause enough damage to kill them since he focused on speed, Rain still made them fall.

When the fire dragons fell completely dizzy, they landed on others piles of mud, giant ones that covered them while. The dragons wondered why Rain could make those so fast, but that didn't matter. He immediately froze them there…

At first, Rain thought that the other dragons wouldn't try to free them, but the earth dragons still made the area tremble and made the ice crack and almost free the fire dragons. Still, Rain used that chance to smash the back of the earth dragons heads who were too busy helping their allies and they soon fell over the recently free fire dragons.

Rain wielded the giant ice spear, making it spin with the precision of a drill. With calculated accuracy, he thrust the formidable weapon forward, piercing through three pairs of fire and earth dragons simultaneously. The icy spear tore through their formidable scales and flesh, delivering a decisive blow that brought an end to the creatures.

The dragons roared in agony as their massive bodies crumpled to the ground, vanquished by Rain's relentless and strategic assault.

The skill Mana Manipulation received 30.000 experience points.

The skill Frozen Throne received 30.000 experience points.

While Rain was busy with that, the remaining dragons had the chance to create a cage in the area… much like the leviathan dragons, the earth dragons summoned some massive earth pillars to keep Rain locked and the fire dragons filled the gaps with flames that immediately made the area scorching hot… It didn't take long for Rain to feel an agonizing and annoying heat.

"I can understand now why I am so had with fire magic," Rain thought.

The dragons were inside the cage to keep Rain busy as well… it was their best environment to face him, after all. The power of Rain's attacks would decrease a lot and his giant ice spear will lose durability… even if they fail, as long as they keep him locked there enough, the others will be able to invade the capital.

"I don't have time for this…" Rain thought.

"Then it is time to use… my power,"

Rain felt like throwing that damn shield in the mouth of one of the fire dragons and make it melt there, but he also felt like that could be a recipe for disaster, so he shook those thoughts out of his mind.

The dragons kept their distance in order to make the spear lose durability and make Rain grow more tired. The heat inside the cage was so powerful that pretty much all the air was vibrating, after all.

"... It can't be helped, if it is only for a moment," Rain thought.

Rain felt the aura in the shield changing, and his guess was right… he almost could see someone inside that smirking. He couldn't trust whoever was in there… he wasn't planning to anyway. His plan wasn't to use the shield…

Rain unsealed the seals for a moment and then charged toward one of the earth dragons as fast as a Meteor. In the next moment, he pushed the creature backward with all his might and make it reach the walls filled with flames.

Rain pushed the earth dragon, forcing it to traverse the powerful walls of flames surrounding the giant prison. As the creature was forced to pass through the scorching barriers, the intense heat began to take its toll. The earth dragon, unable to withstand the searing flames, started to melt. Its once imposing form gradually disintegrated, succumbing to the relentless power of the fiery prison.

One of the earth pillars of the prison fell, but it was in the opposite direction and since Rain was busy, the other dragons used that chance to bombard him with massive fireballs that didn't leave any room for him to escape… the blocked them with his ice spear, though and much to the dragon's annoyance, the spear still looked pretty durable.
