Chapter 713 Self destruction
Chapter 713 Self destruction
The dragons moved to cover the part of the cage that had fallen apart and Rain wondered why they just didn't summon some more earth pillars… that was weird if anything. Rain assumed that they wanted him to either try to pass through with all his might or they truly didn't have much more mana to use, but that would be insane.
Rain only used around seventy percent of his mana and all the dragons had at least ten times more mana than him…
"Something smells fishy…" Rain thought while squinting his eyes.
All of a sudden, a powerful tremor reverberated through the area, causing Rain to instinctively raise his guard. The sensation mirrored the unsettling vibrations typically associated with a dungeon break, though Rain couldn't ascertain whether the golem dragon was responsible for this quake or not.
The ground beneath him quivered with intensity, sparking a heightened sense of caution as he braced for potential dangers.
The dungeon that was the closest to break was the one close to Rain's territory… so he felt like he had to check it as soon as possible, but if compared to dragons, those beasts were almost cute in terms of danger offered.
"For how long are you going to play on their hands? Do you have so much potential, but how come are you so naive?"
Rain bit his lips in annoyance… he truly wanted to drop the shield and kick it on the ground, and stomp it with all his might. That wouldn't change a thing, though… However, Rain truly couldn't waste any more time.
Rain made his giant ice spear spin toward the enemies and the beasts used their fire breath to damage it. When the spear assumed the right position, Rain flew toward it and then punched its butt… the power of Rain's physical and magical prowess connected in that moment and then the attack made the spear impale three earth dragons. Rain wasn't done yet, though…
In the next moment, even while the spear had impaled three earth dragons, Rain made the spear spin and then collided with the other dragons. The first few dragons tried to get in the way and kept a wall to block their allies, who were agonizing, but soon they were pushed away since the dragons eventually died, and Rain used them without a care.
At the same time, Rain charged in the first moment of lack of focus of the dragons and immediately beheaded an ice dragon using his spear… after that, Rain crossed the hole between the bars of the prison, and then he was stopped by a powerful and immensely hot wind wall.
At first, Rain thought that something like wind magic had stopped him, but it looked like the dragons just heat up a large area with mana. Thanks to it, Rain's skin felt like it was melting, but Rain ignored that as the power of Terra's seal began to heal him… it felt like Rain's skin was being peeled, but he eventually crossed and left the prison behind, and then he checked the area around.
Rain surveyed the area and discovered the colossal golem dragon sprawled lifeless on the ground, its massive form partially embedded within the city limits. It appeared that his father and sisters had successfully brought down the behemoth, but the resulting impact had taken a toll on some warriors who were caught in the path of the falling creature.
Chaos ensued on the battlefield, with Dana, Kei, and Gila strategically channeling lightning bolts to repel the relentless assaults from the fire dragons attempting to breach the city's defenses. The scene was a tumultuous blend of victory and sacrifice, marking a critical juncture in the ongoing battle against the formidable dragon horde.
"... It can't be helped," Rain said. "This is war, losses can't be avoided."
"You could have avoided all that if you had used my power during the whole thing. The lightning bolts would have killed all the fire dragons too."
"Shut the fuck up," Rain said.

Rain looked at the dragons in front of him… only twenty or so were left in front of him, so he still had work to do. However, Rain also realized that the dragons finally made up their minds… he could see the resolve in their faces.
"This is bad…" Rain thought and then gulped.
All the dragons used dragon's rage and their auras made the atmosphere in the area tremble… before long, the first fire dragon charged and then it was followed by an earth dragon as well. Rain hesitated for a moment, but in the end, he grabbed the shield with all his might and then encased himself in the ice armor before charging toward the fire dragon.
With his spear, and using all of his buffs, Rain easily pierced the head of the fire dragon… but the beast still exploded. As Rain struck the fatal blow against the fire dragon, an explosive burst erupted from the creature's core. The impact resonated with powerful intensity, sending shockwaves through the air and creating a dazzling display of flames that illuminated the battlefield.
The dragon's demise was marked by a violent release of energy, scattering embers and debris in all directions. The explosion served as a visceral reminder of the inherent danger posed by these powerful creatures, even in their final moments. Rain managed to avoid the explosion reach the capital… but the flames spread around and eventually fell and made several buildings explode…
Before Rain had any time to think about that, the first earth dragon collided agaisnt the wall, and the creature immediately exploded… The release of energy was so immense that it tore the massive creature apart from the inside out. The force of the detonation blasted rocks and debris in all directions, creating a shockwave that reverberated through the air.
The result was a gaping hole in the city's defensive wall, stretching an impressive two hundred meters in length. The other earth dragons all followed after that…
