Yarin's POV:

No one thought this was a bunch of useless stones that the Lily of the Valley had placed out of boredom. The runes and formations on it had been carefully separated. It was obvious that it was prepared for the evil ritual.

But why did it stop?

With this question in mind, the werewolf grandmaster's first reaction was to check the stones.

Since he was checking, it was inevitable that he had to use witchcraft.

Later on, we realized that these stones were a trap. They were placed there to lure us to get them checked.

The moment the magic power touched the stone, something unexpected happened!

The five stones were like a sponge that absorbed the magic power of the werewolf grandmasters. They tried their best to withdraw them, but it was useless. Under the greedy absorption of the stones, their faces quickly turned pale, and they were on the verge of collapse. It was as if the stones had absorbed their life force!

At the critical moment, Aunt Dorothy shouted, "Cut off our fingers!"

The warriors unsheathed their sharp blades without hesitation, and a few fingers fell off.

The werewolf grandmasters wailed and retreated while hugging their broken palms. Without the bodies as a medium, no matter how reluctant the stones were, a few weak wisps of ominous black fog flashed from them before everything returned to normal.

Aunty Dorothy's five fingers on her right hand were all cut off, and blood was dripping from where the fingers were before. Her face was pale, but she still forced herself to say, "Everyone, stay away from the stones. Do not touch them."

The soldiers cautiously picked up the fingers on the ground and led everyone out of the temporary conference room.

The cut of the severed finger was very neat. After timely treatment, the chances of it being reattached were very high. However, the werewolf grandmasters had no choice but to return to the Silver Moon Pack to heal.

Aunt Eve decided to make all the injured werewolf grandmasters leave, but Aunt Dorothy insisted on staying.

"Only we know about the Rocky Mountains," she said. "And of the two of us, only I know about witchcraft. If I leave, won't you all be in the unknown? How could we find a way to break out of this situation?"

"But your hand..." Aunt Eve was reluctant to agree.

Seeing her like this, Aunt Dorothy swiftly cast a preservation spell on her broken hand and fingers.

"That's enough. At least my wound and finger won't be infected and rot for three days. If we still can't find any clues after three days, I'll go back."

Aunt Eve held her forehead helplessly.

We didn't have three days left. We didn't know if the hostage would still be alive after three days. Aunt Dorothy was obviously finding an excuse for herself. She had to see this end safely.

She couldn't resist, so she stayed in the end.

Aunt Dorothy calmed down a few minutes later and entered the meeting room with the stones.

Five ordinary-looking stones lay quietly on the table. They did not look like black holes that devoured people's life force.

However, the runes carved on the stone became more obvious.

"No matter who left them behind, this is a trap to lure us into the ultimate trap," Aunt Eve said with lingering fear. "Although we don't know the function of these arrays for the time being, if you hadn't made a firm decision, I'm afraid someone would have died."

"This is an auto-trigger ornament. It's like a dry sponge. Once it encounters water, it will greedily fill itself," Aunt Dorothy said solemnly. "They are waiting for a sacrifice to feed themselves. This is undoubtedly an evil sacrifice, but the mastermind has already calculated that the sacrifice will come to them."

I suddenly felt a chill run down my spine when I realized how scheming the Lily of the Valley

was.

That was why they had planned everything in advance. They deliberately created a fog that could not be seen to lure us into searching the surrounding areas of the broadcast station, find these stones, and give our lives to the evil god without knowing anything.

At the same time, I felt a little lucky. Fortunately, this sacrifice was interrupted. Otherwise, the enemy we were facing now might be a terrifying demon!

However, I was still too naive. Aunt Dorothy did not have my optimism at all. She frowned and said worriedly, "Although the ritual was interrupted, I'm afraid that the evil ritual formation has already been awakened. Even if the offerings it received were insufficient to satisfy its original function, we could not predict what changes it would have after half of it was satisfied."

Before we could successfully find the key to enter the actual space of the broadcast station, these strange stones became a new problem.

Aunt Dorothy had wanted to seal them, but these stones were so hungry that they absorbed all the magic power applied to them. The seal almost became nourishment for the evil priest.

Aunt Dorothy had no choice but to seal the entire conference room, but she was still worried about it. She did not know what changes the sudden witchcraft fragment would bring to this folded space.
