Chapter 202 You need it

Chapter 202 You need it

A few more minutes passed until the sound of footsteps echoed through the garden, announcing someone's arrival. Anthony felt an imposing presence, and indeed, a man appeared before them.

"We're heading back to the empire," the newcomer announced with a masculine voice.

Arabella, visibly dismayed, responded immediately, "So soon? Can't we wait a little longer?"

The man, identified as Andrés, smiled and embraced his wife. "We can't delay. We have matters to attend to, and we need to gather the others," he explained calmly.

Meanwhile, Alexandra remained seated, caressing the cat in her arms. Curiously, she asked, "Another reconnaissance mission?"

Andrés shook his head as he approached her and kissed her on the forehead. "It's time for the third-year students' event. The headmistress has summoned us," he informed with seriousness.

His gray eyes met Anthony's red eyes, and for a moment, a slight murderous intent reflected in his gaze before disappearing completely. "It's good to see you again, Charlotte," he said with a smile as Charlotte responded with a greeting.

Andrés turned his gaze to his wives and nodded. "Let's go," he urged, and the three of them began to walk. However, Arabella stopped for a moment and looked once more at her sister, leaving a smile on her face before moving on.

As he watched Andrés's back, Anthony reflected, he's strong, very strong, just like his father; he inherited his swordsmanship, the same mastery and level with the sword, sword genius, they call him. Anthony sighed; he could feel his murderous intent.

He couldn't blame him, after all, he had almost tried to violate his sister; if he were in his shoes, he didn't think he would have restrained himself as Andrés did.

After a few seconds, Charlotte took the lead. "Let's go, Mom is waiting for us," she said confidently, though Anthony could perceive a slight nervousness in her. With a smile, he tightly squeezed her hand. "Let's then," he responded, nodding with a charming smile. They walked together through the garden and arrived at a separate area, a kind of terrace.

Three elegantly arranged chairs occupied the space, with the floor in a matte black. In the center was a small table with three glasses filled with a purple liquid. The views were breathtaking; from there, one could contemplate the entire city, located at the highest point of the castle.

Sitting in one of the chairs was a beautiful woman, with hair and eyes of a dark purple. She had her gaze fixed on the slowly setting sun on the horizon. She wore an elegant black dress that accentuated her curves, and she exuded a mature and seductive aura around her.

She was Arabella and Charlotte's mother, one of the most powerful figures in the empire: Alison Darkwood, a woman of Mid-Mythic rank, head of the witches' house.

"Please, sit," Alison said calmly, her voice charming. Anthony and Charlotte took their seats, and after a few seconds of contemplation, Alison spoke again, "Isn't the landscape beautiful, especially at nightfall?" Her purple eyes reflected love as she looked at her daughter.

Charlotte opened her arms and threw herself into a hug with her mother, "I missed you, Mom." Alison smiled and kissed her daughter on the head, "I missed you too very much." The two hugged for a few more seconds before Alison's gaze turned to Anthony.

He, with a smile, performed a noble greeting towards her, "It's a pleasure for me to meet the mother of the witches," he bowed his head as a sign of respect. Recognizing his position and importance, Anthony showed his courtesy to Alison.

"Little dragon, I've heard whispers through the walls. They talk and send me messages, you know?" Alison hugged Charlotte tightly before continuing, "I've heard that you wish to have the hand of my adorable little daughter," her eyes gleamed with a peculiar light. Anthony perceived how her mana surrounded them like a dome, but he just smiled.

"I would like to have your daughter's hand in marriage," he responded directly. Anthony didn't like to beat around the bush; he had always been straightforward and clear. Alison let go of her daughter from her arms, and Charlotte, with flushed cheeks, headed to her chair. Anthony looked at her with tenderness; she was truly adorable and charming.

Alison also noticed her daughter's expression and smiled. "Why should I give you my daughter's hand?"

Anthony looked at her, and his eyes became serious, but his smile remained, "Love is strange and confusing, you don't know the moment your heart beats for someone; it just happens, that's how capricious it is," he shrugged as he said, "Your daughter is very cute and all, but I know that's not at all what interests you, am I wrong?" he asked with a smile on his lips.

Alison's smile widened, "If I had to give my daughter's hand to every fool who said that my daughters are the most beautiful thing they've seen, they would already be married to any idiot out there. Tell me, what do you have to offer my daughter so that I let her be with you?" she said calmly as she picked up one of the glasses and brought the purple liquid to her mouth.

"I have nothing to offer your daughter, but I have something that might interest you," Anthony responded with a smile as he picked up the glass and brought the purple liquid to his lips. Internally, he thought that, indeed, it was grape juice.

Alison's eyes widened slightly, "What is it?" she said curiously. Anthony pulled out of his pocket a ring adorned with a small rose and a large purple crystal, but Alison's eyes were fixed on the small rose. Her pupils dilated, and it seemed that her eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

In a moment of astonishment, she dropped the glass onto the floor, where it shattered into a thousand pieces with a crystalline sound.

"I have this beautiful flower, which I'm sure you desperately need," said Anthony with a big smile, Alison's expression became extremely serious, in the blink of an eye they both disappeared from the place leaving Charlotte, who for some reason was asleep.
