Transmigrated As A Villain, The Heroines Are Also Regressors?

Chapter 146 Iris, The Goddess Of Darkness

Chapter 146 Iris, The Goddess Of Darkness

Ling Feng couldn't believe his eyes right now.

Even though she didn't have any white hair at the moment, and she appeared to be a bit younger than what he had remembered, there was definitely no mistaking it.

It was her.

'Iris, The Goddess of Darkness.'

The cultivator who would tremble the cultivation world in about 10 years from now.

Although Ling Feng didn't start becoming a cultivator until a full 30-ish or so years from now in his past life, he still remembers all of the stories told about her.

After all, there wasn't a single cultivator in his generation who didn't know about Iris.

Her rise to power, her cultivation level, her control over Yin Qi, her methods of killing, and even her cold yet beautiful appearance were all talked about within the cultivation world.

She was just that powerful and influential in the cultivation world.

But even with all of the stories told about her, nobody knew exactly what was true and what wasn't.

There were stories about her selling her soul to a demonic god for power, stories about her being an immortal descending onto the mortal realm just for fun, stories about how she can control any spirits from anywhere within the world and make them do her biddings, and so much more.

But nobody was able to verify any of the stories.

Even after some of the top cultivators specializing in dark arts tried to extract her soul and memory to figure out what happened, they weren't able to figure anything out.

Of course, they didn't have her body so they couldn't properly extract it, but they were still more than qualified enough to do so without a body.

Yet they failed.

As for the people she worked with in the past?

Well there was none.

None that would publically come out at least.

No known family members, no known friends, and not even a known associate.

In fact, the only reason why she became so known to begin with was because she would sometimes spare some of the cultivators that witnessed her charm and unfathomable prowess.

However, there was three things known about her.

First, she was previously a prominent assassin in the underworld scene before she became a cultivator.

Second, she didn't start becoming a cultivator until 7 or 8 years from now.

This was discovered through the fact that a cultivator using dark arts extracted the memory of one of the cultivators that she had spared, and she had coldly mentioned it to him.

And lastly, she committed suicide about 10 years after she became a cultivator.

As for how this was discovered, Ling Feng didn't really know either, but apparently it was verified by someone.

In short, Iris became the strongest cultivator for her time in just a span of 10 years.

And that Iris was currently staring him down dead in the eyes.

But...

He wasn't afraid of her.

After all, why would he?

He was someone who, just like Iris, stood at the very top as well.

But unlike her, who only stayed in this mortal realm before her death, he went beyond and reached the legendary immortal realm.

Besides, if he wasn't afraid of coming here even knowing that he might have to fight against Ronald again, who was currently a Nascent Soul and could even directly attack his soul, why should he be afraid of Iris?

With that in mind, he got prepared with what he was originally suppose to do, which was saving Lai Ho, and started summoning a defensive array using hand-signs.

Iris, who wasn't surprised at all with how Ling Feng knew her name considering that she was known in the underground scene, saw what he was doing and quickly rushed directly at him in order to prevent him from finishing the array.

Before the tip of her dagger was about to graze him however, his hand suddenly stopped midway through the formation and he suddenly threw his fist, channeled with qi, right at Iris's chest.

The way Iris positioned herself as she went in for the attack however, allowed her to easily dodge Ling Feng's fist and redirect her own attack, and so she twisted her body in midair, causing Ling Feng to miss just by a hair, and she swung her dagger at his throat.

Since Ling Feng had built a solid foundation for his cultivation though, and had a faster reaction time than most of the cultivators in the Body Tempering Realm despite being in the 6th level still, he managed to barely avoid her attack by slightly moving back.

But he was given no time to breathe, and before he knew it...

Thud!

Iris kicked the side of his thigh, but instead of feeling flesh, she felt that she had just kicked an invisible wall.

"Tch." Knowing that the invisible wall she had just kicked was actually Qi Fortification, Iris clicked her tongue and retreated back a couple of steps.

Ling Feng didn't bother pursuing her, and he continued summoning the defensive array from where he last left off.

About two seconds later, a golden array had been drawn out on the ground with Lai Ho at the center.

The golden array wasn't big by any means, but the golden translucent barrier that was generated from the array was still big enough for Ling Feng to break the floorboard above him and escape into the living room while still being in the barrier, which was what Ling Feng intended to do.

With that in mind, Ling Feng quickly grabbed Lai Ho's body, and looked up at the floorboard.

Before he could even jump up however...

Shatter!

The golden barrier shattered, and Iris's dagger was now hurrling towards him at an alarming rate.

Caught off guard by this, he quickly dropped Lai Ho's body and rolled on his side.

Luckily, he was easily able to dodge this, and now that the dagger had struck the wall, Iris had no more magical weapons to use...

Or that was what he thought until he felt something pierce through his Qi Fortification and slightly into his back.

As it turned out, Iris had full control of the dagger this entire time and tricked him just now.

Considering that Iris wasn't in the Qi Transformation Realm yet though, and he didn't feel any qi come out of Iris's body when the dagger stabbed him in the back, Ling Feng immediately knew that Iris had done a technique that allowed her to fully become the dagger's sole owner, and he couldn't help but shake his head.

"All that potential, gone to waste." Ling Feng muttered to himself not in a taunting way, but with clear disappointment.

"You know about the technique?" Iris immediately knew what he was referring to and she raised an eyebrow.

"You can say that." Ling Feng simply replied as he took the dagger out of his back and dropped it on the side of the floor.

Before the dagger made contact with the floor however, the dagger flew back to Iris's hand.

"Who are you?" Iris asked cautiously.

Considering that this technique wouldn't first be discovered and created by a demonic cultivator until 10 years from now, nobody should know about this technique as of now other than regressors.

"You don't have the qualifications to know." Ling Feng spoke matter-of-factly.

Hearing this, Iris couldn't help but feel extremely disgusted.

Even though it was extremely common for cultivators to have this kind of arrogant attitude, and she somewhat also has this kind of attitude as well, for some reason, Ling Feng reminded her too much of Ye Fan.

But she didn't know why that was the case.

Nevertheless, since she didn't want to see this guy's face any longer, and didn't want to keep Ronald waiting for too long, she decided to use her trump card she had obtained back at the graveyard to get rid of Ling Feng as soon as possible.

So Iris held in her breath and locked her eyes directly at Ling Feng in order to collect the neccessary information about his looks.

Afterwards, Iris closed her eyes and then focused all of her mental energy into her eyes, therefore shutting down all 5 of her senses besides her sight.

Then after making sure that her 4 senses didn't work anymore, she mustered all of her mental energy into rewiring her brain to disable seeing colors and ignore the human's survival instincts, allowing her to exhaust the strength of a peak non-cultivator human being without instinctively reacting to the pain.

And once she opened her eyes again, everything around her was completely grey and super blurry besides Ling Feng, and she couldn't smell, hear, taste, or even feel the dagger she was holding at all.

Knowing that the one-eyed soul devourer trapped in the eclipse vein seed would rewire her brain fully back to normal after a short while however as the soul fragments she fed it had her original soul imprint in it, Iris wasn't worried about the damage she caused to her brain, and thus...

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Iris lunged at Ling Feng and began attacking him again.

This time however, Iris moved so quickly and her attacks were so fast that they left several afterimages behind, similar to what Kedron did back at the hospital.

Moreover, she swung her dagger with such incredible strength that the shockwaves from each swing sounded like thunder cracking through the air.

Nevertheless, Ling Feng managed to barely dodge most of Iris's vital attacks.

Since he couldn't afford to dodge the non-fatal attacks though, cuts were forming all over his entire body at an alarming rate.

'This isn't looking good...' Ling Feng thought to himself as he began to panic.

He had to admit, he had severely underestimated Iris up to this point.

After all, Iris didn't really do anything actually remarkable throughout this entire fight other than get a lucky hit on him up till this point.

But now that her speed and strength has increased dramastically, and it felt like he was fighting someone in the Qi Transformation Realm, he could feel the weight of every movement and swing of her dagger.

Iris simply wasn't just trying overpowering him with raw power. No, she was strategically overwhelming him by aiming for both his tendons and ligaments while also attacking his vital spots so that he was forced to focus on protecting those areas instead.

'At this rate, she'll sever all of my tendons and I won't last much longer.'

But what could he possibly do?

He was currently stuck in a basement with no tools at his disposal, and the only possible exit was blocked by Iris.

'Is my only option really to use... that on her?' Ling Feng pondered as he looked at a tiny red charm tucked in his pocket.

Truthfully, Ling Feng had been saving this charm for when he encountered Ronald, as this powerful and rare one time use charm can actually attack someone both physically and spiritually, and thus, it can temporarily give him a fighting chance against him for a short bit.

However, he was almost certain that if he didn't use this charm on her, then she would end up eventually killing him before he could even encounter Ronald, if he even is here right now.

So with that in mind, Ling Feng quickly took out the red charm from his pocket and activated it.

As it was starting to activate, Iris, who immediately knew what it was, quickly tried to slice it off of his hand.

But Ling Feng wasn't going to allow that to happen though, and he stopped Iris's dagger dead in its tracks by grasping the blade with his other hand, causing his entire palm to get pierced.

Ignoring the immense pain he was feeling, Ling Feng continued to hold onto the dagger's blade with all of his might, not letting Iris remove it out of his hand whatsoever.

As such, Iris let go of her dagger and started using her fists to attack while using her control of her dagger to get it out of his hand.

Eventually, the dagger slipped free by cutting through the side of his hand, leaving a deep gap in the middle and side of his hand.

But at that point, it was already too late and Ling Feng's charm had already finished activating, and Ling Feng aimed the charm at her.

Knowing that it was impossible to dodge a spiritual attack at her current state, Iris gritted her teeth and braced for impact.

Just before the charm released its attack however...

"Yo, what the fuck's going on down here... HOLY SHIT!" Ronald swung the basement door wide open and acted surprised when he saw the intense battle occuring.

When Ling Feng saw Ronald, he immediately pointed the charm at Ronald and allowed the charm to release the attack.

"Young Master! Watch out!" Seeing as how the charm's transparent beam of energy was going straight for Ronald, Iris shouted in the most desperate voice she had probably ever mustered out as she tried outpacing the beam to try and get in front of him so that she would get hit instead of him.

But since the beam traveled at a rate that not even Nascent Soul cultivators could easily avoid, Iris couldn't catch up with it.

By a stroke of luck though, Ronald turned his body to the side for some reason despite the fact that the transparent beam shouldn't be visible to someone like him, and the beam missed him by a centimeter.

BOOM!

The beam struck a wall instead, and since most of the beam's physical damage was based on its kinetic energy rather than qi and any other energy, the entire house quickly crumbled down.

Prioritizing Ronald's safety above all else, Iris quickly grabbed Ronald and brought him out of the crumbling house through the front entrance.

This made Ling Feng utterly confused as he thought that Ronald or Iris was going to attack him during the chaos, but he didn't dwell on it for long and escaped the house with Lai Ho after he broke the stone wall in the basement.

Once Iris brought him to the sidewalk that was infront of his house, Iris put him down and immediately embraced him.

"Thank god... thank god you didn't get hurt, Young Master." Iris panted and held tightly onto Ronald as tears rolled down her cheeks.

Ronald on the other hand, wasn't paying attention to Iris whatsoever.

Why?

Because...

"..."

"NOOOOOOOOO MY MANSION!"

"..."

"The real estate agent is going to flip out at me when he finds out that I can't pay for all of the damages done with my allowance money."
