Chapter 614 Try Harder
Chapter 614 Try Harder
(From Blue's Perspective)
"You saw her?" Dem asked Bree, who shook her head. Bree was shocked at her father's behavior. I could not blame her. Dem did look crazy, as if he could kill someone on the spot.
I placed my hand on Dem's arm. "Honey…"

"Did you know?" he asked angrily although he did not pull his arm away.
"Know what? Come on, we don't know for certain. Besides, it doesn't matter even if she looks like me. It sounds so ridiculous anyway," I said.
"Doesn't matter?" Dem barked. "You know what it means, don't you? That he always wanted to fuck you? So he got himself someone that looks like you? I won't be surprised if he calls her Blue in bed!"
"Dem! Our daughter is here!"
"I don't fucking care!"
"But I do!"
I got up and stormed out of the dining hall with Dem right behind me. He grabbed my wrist and pinned me against the wall, not caring who saw us.
"You knew about his feelings? And you never told me anything? In fact, you lied to my face! I told you many times that the bastard has feelings for you. But you were like- 'No, he doesn't, Dem. He is just my friend. A good friend of mine. You are just overreacting.' Fucking hell, Blue!"
"You are not even sure it's true, Dem!" I yelled.
"Dion knows. Go and ask him," he said.
"Dem…"
"I know our son. I saw his face when I asked him. It's true, Blue. What I said is the goddamn truth!"
"You are hurting me. Let go." He did not let go, but loosened his grip.
"We are going to our bedroom," he said as he pulled me with him.
I did not fight him as he took me to our bedroom. He closed the door. It was better to fight here rather than outside where everyone could see us, including our kids.
Dem tried to open his mouth, but I placed my finger on his lips and shook my head.
"Listen to me, okay? Just for a minute. Then, you can say and do whatever it is that you want," I said. I did not wait for him to give me affirmation. "First of all, let's say Evan has feelings for me or used to have. So what?"
"What do you mean 'so what'?" he asked, almost yelling.
"I mean what I said. So what, Dem? Think about it. So what? What if he likes me romantically or sexually? Does it matter, Dem? Men want me. You have to deal with it," I said as calmly as possible. "Women want you too, Dem. Do I scream at your face for it?"
"Why would I when you are loyal to me?" I continued. "Am I not loyal? Have I ever given you a reason to worry about my loyalty?"
"I know you won't ever cheat on me, but…"
"There is no 'but', Dem. Being jealous is fine, Dem. Normal. But to what extent? Not like this! Even if Evan has feelings for me, it doesn't matter. Neither Evan nor I ever tried to do something behind your back. We are friends, Dem! Just friends! I don't care if he likes me romantically. He never told me anything and I will pretend like I don't know anything. That's how it works. You can't be going berserk every time you get jealous!"
I felt tears prickling. "You did that in front of the kids, Dem."
He cursed under his breath and wrapped his arms around me. "I'm sorry, baby. I can't… I can't seem to control myself."
"You never can!"
"I'm sorry. I really am sorry."
He was not sorry. I knew my husband. He was sorry I was sad. He was not sorry for what he did. He was still angry and jealous.
Still, I let him hug me and kiss me. He said sorry many times without meaning it. My husband lied to make me feel better even though I knew he was lying.
"Still, can you tell him not to come?" Dem asked.
I pushed him away. "What the fuck do you mean by that, Dem? He is my friend! He is coming here and that's final!"

Dem and I fought for a good while after that again. We stopped fighting only after having sex. Our fights almost always ended that way. Rarely any of our fights lasted more than a day.
We had eaten long past midnight on the bed since we had not finished our dinner. I felt fine after that. Being full always had that effect.
"You shouldn't act like that," I told Dem.
"No, I…"
"Please listen to me first," I said, holding up my hand. "If you act like that, it will have a negative effect on our children."
"Like influence them in a bad way?"
"Yeah."
He laughed. "Please, darling. They are not kids. Sure, Bree is younger than the boys and probably will be a little influenced, although I don't think so. Dion and Demian are way past the age to be influenced."
"You have been acting jealous like this all their lives, Dem."
"I can't change myself for them, Blue!"
"Well, no, but you can surely try not to do it in front of them. Do it in the bedroom, Dem! That's all I'm asking of you!"
"Bree looks up to you, you know that, right?" I continued. "Let's say the boys don't really care about how you act. But what about our daughter? You and I both know that she wants to be like you."
"I don't see why."
"Well, that's because she loves you and thinks you are an amazing king," I said. "Come on, Dem. You can understand that, can't you? Can't you be a little considerate."
He shrugged. "I'll try. Maybe a little bit."
I stared at him.
"Fine, Blue. I will really try okay. I will make an effort," he said and hugged me. "But I truly hate to imagine someone being so in love with you that he just wants you to be happy even if it means he can't have you."
"Are you talking about Evan? Dem, we are not even sure…"
"He never told you how he felt. He probably still loves you, but knows that you love me, so he never spoke up. Maybe he never will either."
