Chapter 2929 The Upper Realm IV
Back at his relatives' side, Minos found himself in a less formal situation, with his bloodline companions more open when addressing him. Now that Devdar had left, but also the seraphim and dragons were getting to know the city, only those with blood ties to Minos remained in his newly acquired palace.
Lily, her grandmother, and her great-grandparents stood around Minos now, looking at him with pride, but also a sense of lightness that they had rarely felt in their lives.
Minos could see that they were reassured about the future. They certainly knew that there were still challenges, but they were much more certain they could achieve immortality together. This made their voices and expressions quieter and more genuine. Meanwhile, they had their first chance to talk alone.
"What now, Father? When will we see the rest of the family?" Lily asked as soon as she got her chance.
Minos looked at the girl and thought for a moment, feeling new information flowing into his mind. Having become an Entitled Deity, he didn't need to sit in front of a desk and read several books to learn about the realm. His throne connected him with the realm's existence and various pieces of information were only a short effort away.
The vastness of the knowledge available would prevent anyone from learning everything about the realm in a short space of time. The volume of information was so great that even a True Celestial with a throne in the realm would go mad if they had to deal with everything about existence at once.
But as he thought about Lily's question, Minos felt his throne sending him pertinent information for his answer. He said after just two breaths of consideration, "The when isn't exactly clear to me. You, as entities of the Upper Realm, can now no longer come and go through the planes of existence casually. On the other hand, our friends, and family can only enter the realm by acquiring merit of their own or if I myself give them the opportunity."
"The throne's words at that time were indeed true." Oswald remembered the ultimatum issued by the throne when given the opportunity to ascend to the Upper Realm.
"That's not good." Maisie sighed. She and the others were also subconsciously aware of certain truths of the Upper Realm. "You can't leave the realm casually either."
The freedom of the regular residents of the Upper Realm was not as simple as that of the countless living beings on the various planes of existence. Besides internal and external disputes, the power of the Entitled Deities was so great that their movements could bring chaos and destruction wherever they went, even when one didn't have a reason to do so.
"The rest of the family was aware that I would need some time in the realm before returning. I warned them about it, so they should be prepared," Minos said that he wasn't in a hurry, nor did he regret the situation. "The point now is for you to strengthen yourselves and reach the 13th stage. With your current levels and access to the best in the Upper Realm, you'll advance without difficulty. I'm sure of it."
"And you?" Patience asked her grandson.
Minos looked at the woman with the long greenish-white hair. "Because of my position as lord of a domain, I am one of the many pillars of the dimension. I have to solidify my position and gain experience. That's what I need to do before looking at a return to our universe. When I have the opportunity to create some new thrones, I will leave to bring the rest of our family here."
Minos' relatives understood his plans, knowing that anyone who got a throne in the dimension could do the same as him, giving everyone in his lineage the chance to access promotion bonuses and ascend to the kingdom without difficulty.
With this in mind, they made the plan to strengthen themselves as a priority in order to help Minos conquer as many thrones in the shortest possible time.
Most of them set off to seek opportunities for growth, with only Lily staying behind with her father. Father and daughter continued walking through the palace until they reached the exit of the complex, entering the first street of the domain's major city, where beings coming and going began to observe and greet them.
As they walked, the throne gave Minos various pieces of information, some of which he explained to his daughter, as if he were a guide. "The Upper Realm is divided into over 10,000 different domains, some with leaders, others 'independent'. However, don't confuse such independent states with the ones we met on our journeys. The difference between these territories and the others is that there is no sovereign with special powers. In practice, however, someone, or some group, uses, and controls these territories.
But regardless of who dominates which area, the realm has another division, which considers the main factions. The four major forces in the realm hold 89% of the domain, and as such, there is a secondary division that is widely used locally. This one uses the territories of the four dominant factions as a reference. Our domain is in the Divine Path faction, which is led by Senior Devdar.
The Divine Path has 6 million living beings under its domination and over 100 True Celestials, with 56 Thrones—no, with actually 57, counting us now. These domain lords are directly responsible for the lives and immortality of the territory's 6 million inhabitants, and are charged with maintaining law and order, but also preventing the Devils' infernal claws from mowing them down.
Devils cannot enter the Upper Realm, just as Entitled Deities cannot enter Hell. However, there are distortions that open up loopholes for one side to harm the other. And since there are advantages for each side in attacking the other, naturally the safety and stability of these 6 million beings is not as guaranteed as one might think."
Lily listened to her father carefully, absorbing his words and gaining an interest in following her duty to lead and protect this population.
She didn't even consider why she should defend all these people or where they came from. Given the rules of the realm, it was clear these were direct or indirect descendants of domain leaders who had or had held thrones throughout the kingdom's history. Lily and her fellow newcomers to the dimension were just like most of the realm's inhabitants!
Minos continued, speaking more thickly as he saw a group of powerful beings swimming not far ahead of them. "But external dangers aren't the only ones. While the dimension can be considered united in dealing with external problems, internal competition and disputes are more common here than you might have thought before my success."
Lily spotted a group of natives, all of them with platinum hair, bodies enveloped in divine auras that were hard to ignore, and 13th stage cultivation. The group approached them with obvious purpose. But she didn't fear these beings and continued walking alongside her father, until they stopped only 50 meters away from the group of 12, who also halted and their representatives focused on Minos, who, at this point, was already news throughout the dimension.
"Your Excellency Minos Stuart, I presume," said out loud the man at the front of the group.
This man had reptilian eyes, despite his human appearance, a physical build as strong and tall as Minos himself. But despite his imposing appearance, what was most striking about him was his level 127 aura!
Minos looked into the eyes of the first man to speak, but he didn't ignore the other domain leaders in front of him, whom he easily recognized.
'And here begins my new journey,' he thought as he passed his eyes over these True Celestials of levels 126 and 127, imagining they were there to welcome him to the realm, as Devdar had warned him earlier.
The corners of Minos' mouth lifted as his perfectly white teeth appeared. "So..."
