Chapter 2928 The Upper Realm III
As they considered the implications of Devdar's words, Minos and his three subordinates became more serious, each of them seeing in their minds a chaotic scenario of wars forming.
'How unexpected...' Minos thought to himself silently, for the first time hearing such a possibility. 'Killing Entitled Deities generates merit and empowerment opportunities for the Devils, but it doesn't create new Infernal Crowns. That's certainly out of step with the natural balance of things.'
He looked at his Senior, seeing Devdar smile and nod as if he could understand what was on his mind.
"That's the way it is. But it's not so simple to eliminate Devils. Talking is much easier than doing."
"It makes sense," Soli muttered as she sighed, imagining how difficult it must be to eliminate a single one of those beings.
Minos' other two subordinates thought the same, each of them having experienced different circumstances involving Devils directly or indirectly. Even without their master's experience, they knew how complicated it could be to eliminate a single one of those entities.
'I haven't had much chance to study Entitled Deities, but Devils really are hard to kill. The control they have over Reincarnation Wheels gives them a lot of possibilities in combat.'
"In compensation for this imbalance," Devdar continued, "Entitled Deities are usually weaker than Devils of the same level. So be aware of that."
"I see. The laws of Hell are, after all, an attempt by the universe to return to normality and eliminate distortions," said one of the two men next to Soli.
Devdar nodded in agreement and continued, "That said, it's not so usual for new thrones to appear in the Upper Realm. But this is an important possibility."
Looking more seriously at Minos, Devdar said with profundity, "Minos, the growth of an Entitled Deity is directly related to the number of thrones under their influence. You can achieve this in internal disputes, but dealing with Devils may be the quickest route for you. Keep that in mind for now."
The three individuals further back on that balcony looked at Minos, understanding the mission Devdar was giving him.
But even though it was tempting to follow the path of an assassin of Devils, Minos couldn't help but hesitate.
'It's not that simple.' He once again closed his eyes and remembered not only his journey in Hell but also his return to the past with his throne earlier.
'The division of the Ancestral Realm created Hell and the Upper Realm. Both are intimately connected to the existence of reality. I don't know what might happen if one side became too superior to the other.'
He was still unwilling to talk about what he had seen with anyone, so he merely nodded, indicating that he understood what Devdar had in mind. Devdar sighed and turned to Minos, placing one of his hands on one of the man's shoulders. "There's a lot more to the realm you need to know, but it will be best for you to learn while you adapt to it. If you have questions, feel free to come to my territory or send me a messenger. But now it's time to part ways."
"Certainly, Senior." Minos thanked him with a gesture from the Spiritual World, understanding this was Devdar giving him all the freedom he needed, or rather deserved.
Devdar had brought him to the Upper Realm through his inheritance. The normal thing to do at this point would be for him to take Minos to his faction's headquarters, explain the rules and the newcomer's immediate duties. But Minos was unusual and had already surpassed him. As such, Devdar took a step back, letting his heir decide for himself how he would proceed from now on so that there would be no unresolved issues between them afterwards.
Devdar looked at the three losers of his inheritance and nodded to them. "Obey and be loyal to your master. Even if you don't have thrones, you can reach infinity alongside him."
"Yes, Senior!" Said the three as they also gestured in appreciation and gratitude to the man with the long golden hair.
He liked what he saw, but he said nothing more, disappearing after thanking the three. He left, making it seem as if his body had simply dissipated in front of the four of them, leaving only Minos to understand his movement of teleportation away from there.
As Devdar left, Minos leaned on the railing of the balcony. Soli approached him and asked, "You're stronger than Senior Devdar now, right?"
"Yes," Minos responded without giving details. The truth was that he was already stronger than Devdar before he entered the Upper Realm. Now, with the promotion bonuses, his strength was a mystery even to Minos himself.
"Do you intend to create your own faction to hunt Devils?" She asked, imagining that this was the ideal path for him at the moment.
Minos shook his head as he looked back and faced the three peak minions of level 125. They too had been strengthened by passing through the last stage of inheritance and entering the Upper Realm. "I'm not sure. It's tempting to hunt Devils, but it's neither easy nor interesting to go down that road. First of all, we can't access Hell. But Devils rarely leave their dimension. Secondly, what negative consequences would starting a big hunt have for me to strengthen myself?"
He left these questions hanging in the air as he thought to himself, 'One Devil killing another is a totally different thing. When I've done it in the past, I've strengthened myself and kept the power of Hell in Hell. But when Devils and Entitled Deities fight, the situation is quite unusual...'
The three thought in silence, agreeing that it wouldn't be easy, even with all of Minos' strength. "As for the faction, let's first get to know the dimension before thinking about such a complex matter." He walked back to that luxurious room, full of vases, some decorative plants, and paintings on the walls. His palace was the most luxurious he had ever seen in his entire journey, with lots of precious stones, furniture that looked solid enough to withstand ordinary Celestial disputes and a surreal compatibility with his tastes.
But he paid little attention to this as he went on with his plans. "Now you three must help me get to know the realm and understand the internal and external challenges to my rule. Divide among yourselves how you will understand the rivals of Devdar's faction and the current situation between Hell and the Upper Realm. All I know is Hell's side and what little I've seen of the relationship between the two dimensions. But the locals may have entirely different points of view. Take that into account."
"Of course, master," said the two men as they made a farewell gesture and disappeared simultaneously.
Soli already had an idea of what those two were going to do and what was left for her. But before she left, she said one more thing to Minos. "When you went to take your throne, Devdar told us about your time in Hell and your time as a Devil."
"Is that so?"
"I don't know what you experienced there. But I'm sure that the current you is not the same as the one who would have reached the Upper Realm without having passed through Hell. Perhaps you have some affection for what you've learned, but give the Upper Realm a chance before judging the local reality. Despite Hell's 'noble' principles, whose benefit are they?"
Without waiting for an answer, Soli left, leaving Minos alone with this question.
