Chapter 815: Chapter 810 Traps_1

Their speed at firing these energy spheres is incredibly fast! They can reach three to four per second! Such an attack speed is already horrifying for a biological entity.

“Wipe them out!” Within such a short time frame, the entire Warhammer Defense System had already lost tens of thousands of its smaller warhammers. Although this was just a drop in the ocean for the entire fleet’s Warhammer Defense System, the offensive power still made Jeremiah Jenkins’s face darken.

“Yes, sir!”

Following Jeremiah’s orders, the battleship’s cannons quickly began to fire. Even though these were particle cannons, the monsters started flying erratically, becoming incredibly agile. However, this was to no avail, as the supercomputer’s calculation speed was equally fast, meaning that these corrupted flying insects turned into blobs of flesh in space within just a few minutes.

“Is the analysis complete?” Jeremiah asked after the extermination was finished.

“It’s complete, Your Highness, and it’s not good news,” one of Jeremiah’s aides quickly approached, speaking with a serious tone.

“Report.”

“Yes, Your Highness. Their defensive capabilities are strong, almost on par with our spacefighters’ defenses. Even our particle cannons need at least two shots to take one down. And the energy spheres they release are even more powerful than the weapons of our spacefighters and space mechas.”

“That’s not the most terrifying part. The scariest thing is the nature of these monsters. Generally, beasts that evolve into spacial monsters have decent intelligence. They won’t just march to their deaths; they would flee if they encountered something terrifying. But not one of the tens of thousands of monsters we just attacked tried to escape; they were all destroyed into mounds of flesh. Even those that were seriously injured continued their assault without any sign of retreat, displaying extremely vicious temperaments,” the aide reported gravely.

Jeremiah’s face also turned grim, understanding that for these monsters, their strength wasn’t what was fearsome. What was truly frightening was their temperament. If it were the smarter monsters that knew to run away when faced with a formidable enemy, they wouldn’t be scary. It’s the ones that fearlessly fight to the death that are truly terrifying.

“Transmit this situation back to the family, tell them I need to change my plans temporarily. I have to find out exactly what this thing is. Tell everyone to be fully armed. And don’t forget that there’s a big fellow waiting for us up ahead. Keep the main cannon charged and ready to fire at any moment,” Jeremiah contemplated for a moment before giving his command.

“Yes, Your Highness.” The entire fleet immediately began to adjust its formation, but the transport ships didn’t leave the fleet. The reason was simple: for the transport ships, if they departed at this time and encountered more of these creatures elsewhere, the creatures’ attack power was still quite lethal.

To a warship, it might be inconsequential, but for transport ships and some auxiliary warships, the creatures’ offensive power was very deadly.

The enemy fleet began to accelerate, and Finn Lewis just shook his head slightly. Up to this moment, at least nearly twenty million corrupted flying insects had been hatched inside the Leviathan, along with a small number of Toxic Winged Dragons and plague insects. The latter two types weren’t as fast, but they possessed special abilities.

If the enemy fleet got within a certain distance, they would be in for a rude awakening. However, Finn Lewis did not plan to take part, at least not until now. Keller’s performance had been quite impressive, and even if Finn Lewis took command himself, he probably couldn’t do better. Clearly, although Keller had never commanded Insect Species units before.

But clearly, as a Queen, it instinctively knew the strengths and inferiorities of the Insect Species, and now it was turning its own weaknesses into strengths.

However, this was also because the enemy did not know the truth, for if they had, they would surely not have approached willingly. Leviathan’s flying speed was anything but slow. Do not be deceived by its cumbersome size, considering that in interstellar travel, common spaceships might not even be able to outfly Leviathan.

Not to mention in terms of warp capabilities, Leviathan could be said to completely outclass all other spaceships. The only issue was that Leviathan itself had no attack capabilities; it could only endure attacks passively. However, the Insect Units housed within it were its offensive capabilities. Come to think of it, this thing was somewhat similar to an aircraft carrier. They both relied on the planes or Insect Units carried within them to attack; themselves having virtually no offensive power.

Half an hour was not a long time. “Queen Keller, a large-scale energy attack has been detected, the enemy’s main cannon is charging,” Kaylissa stepped forward to remind Keller.

“I know, prepare the defenses. After they complete their first main cannon attack, launch our offensive immediately,” Keller’s head barely showed facial features, but it’d be hard to find any emotion on its face.

“Yes, Queen.” Although the opposing forces had ten first-class warships and twenty second-class warships, with their main cannons’ formidable power, even such firepower in one salvo could still be resisted by Leviathan, demonstrating that Leviathan, despite its lack of offensive capabilities, had particularly formidable defensive capabilities.

Finn Lewis could feel that, following Keller’s words, the entire Leviathan began to tremble. Its body continuously started to wriggle, then parts of its outer armor began to retract, while other parts protruded. Meanwhile, an invisible protective shield outside of Leviathan was continually accumulating.

Soon, the distance between the two sides had closed to the point where they could be seen with the naked eye, now with merely less than 1000 kilometers separating them. At this moment, the optical system aboard the warship managed to thoroughly scan and project Leviathan’s form inside the warship.

The appearance of Leviathan was still terrifying, least of all because such a fearsome space creature, especially one of such massive size, had never been seen before, while the flying insects that had attacked them previously had already flown into this gigantic monster’s body.

Yet another kind of monster that inhabited this star region flew slowly, but was still steadily making its way towards this giant creature.

“How’s it going?” Jeremiah Jenkins spoke up, inquiring after he had just ordered an attack on those creatures they encountered en route, which looked like enlarged mushrooms.

“These monsters do not seem to have attack capabilities. We’ve destroyed at least thousands of them along the way, but not a single one fought back. Their defensive capabilities also aren’t as impressive as that last monster, and they are very slow.”

“No attack capabilities? That’s quite strange. No matter, have all the warships ready,” Jeremiah watched the gigantic creature outside the window. Even in space, even almost 1000 kilometers apart, it was still visible to the naked eye.

“Yes, Your Highness.”
