[3rd POV]

Sitting at a table for breakfast, Gwen watched as Rogue and Jean sat across from her, sitting a

bit away from one another, mostly for safety reasons due to Rogue's power. The girls sat around her, already munching on their breakfast. Said breakfast was okay to their standards, but nothing in comparison to what Gwen could make.

"So Gwen, when did you gain those powers of yours?" Jean asked, sitting across from Gwen as she took a bite of her breakfast, which was a Waffle with bacon and some fresh fruit.

"Around a year ago or so" Gwen replied, biting into a piece of bacon with a hum.

"Really? You got them only a year ago and you've already learned so much? That's incredible!" Jean replied with wide eyes. Usually it took years upon years of practice to get to where Gwen was at this point, learning and training for years just to have a small chance of proper and absolute control, that Gwen seemed to have.

"Yeah well, my powers aren't too hard to control in comparison to yours or Rogue's" Gwen replied with a shrug, as it was technically true. Most of her powers were easily masterable thanks to her knowledge and intellect, whereas theirs were really complex thanks to their lack of experience and knowledge.

"M-My power isn't controllable" Rogue cut in, shaking her head at the thought. She had tried for a long time to learn her own power and control it, but she had yet to find a way to do so, giving up on the possibility. Rogue knew that Gwen had some sort of power that let her know things about people, as how else would she seemingly know so much about her powers. But she understood that Gwen didn't say anything when they first met the day before, probably because it would have been kinda creepy if she did, so she didn't mind much.

"Rogue, all powers are controllable, it's just how you go about it that decides whether or not you can actually control it" Gwen replied, knowing that Rogue could control her power, she did in the comics, but only after extensive training, and help from Xavier.

The entirety of her lack of "Control" and the absorption of other peoples powers, memories, and more, was psychological in nature. Once that "Block" of sorts was eliminated, she would have control over her power. BUT, that was something that couldn't be forced, and Rogue herself would need to work through with the help of someone else, Gwen in this case.

"But mine aren't, I've tried everything to control it, and I can't, no matter how hard I try" Rogue replied, growing frustrated with herself. At the fact that no matter what she tries, she won't be able to control it. But the fact that she now had someone she could touch, was enough in her mind. She would just need to make sure not to scare Gwen away.

"Trust me Rogue, yours are. And since I plan on working here part time, I'll do my best to help you control them, okay?" Gwen said with a soft smile, knowing that she could help this girl, one who desperately needed it.

Jean sat on the side, listening silently with a soft smile on her face. She knew that Gwen was a good person, and she was happy to see that she would be helping someone who needed it more than most of the other students in the school. That, and she was smiling at the news that Gwen would likely join the school as a teacher for the kids, helping them learn how to control, understand, and manage their powers.

"Can you really help me?" Rogue whispered in slight hope, hope that she could finally get these powers of hers under control.

"I'm 100% certain I can, Rogue. Now, why don't we talk about something less depressing! Like why the dude with Red lensed glasses is practically glaring at me right now" Gwen asked, glancing at Scott who seemed to dislike her closeness to Jean. She knew that the teen definitely was not normal, and seemed to have some sort of mental influence clouding his mind, so she wasn't going to blame him.

She suspected it to be at the hands of the same Sinister man that was involved with Magneto and his experience at Auschwitz. She'd have to get rid of that little influence soon, same with the man that made it, as he was a bit of a problem, even to her.

"Um...I think he's got a crush on me? I'm not really sure. Me and Scott aren't really that close, but he's a friend of mine" Jean replied, embarrassed that the teen was staring so intently, and glaring at her new friend.

"You think? The guy looks like he's constipated or something" Gwen said with a snort, ignoring the teen. Whatever the influence on his mind was, she'd be getting rid of that later in the night, so as to help out the teen before he causes issues not of his own free will.

Jean giggled at the response, as he did sorta look constipated at the moment. "He does, doesn't he?"

"What do you plan on teaching, Gwen?" Artemis asked on the side, as she ate her breakfast. The girls were all quietly conversing amongst themselves, while Gwen was talking to her new friends.

"How to control, understand, and grow their powers. As from what I can tell, a lot of the kids here are dealing with mutations that won't let them go out in public. So if I can help them control that power, so they can, then I'd like to do that. Plus I'm sure I can find a way of helping both of you with your powers as well" Gwen said, looking at Jean and Rogue with a smile. The two of them needed some training in their powers, but Rogue definitely needed it more than Jean. While Jean would need to happen carefully, in the case of her having the Phoenix within her, which Gwen assumed she did.

"That would be a great addition, Gwen!" Jean said with a smile, liking the idea of learning from Gwen, who obviously had the experience and knowledge to teach how to control power. She wasn't sure where she got that from, but she expected it was from the same power that let her see more than normal.

"All our current classes are about boring stuff like math, science, and literature. But a class that can actually help us control these powers, and learn more about them, could be just what the kids need to get some more confidence and understanding of their powers" Jean added. The classes didn't help with actually learning more about their mutations and powers, and was almost entirely focused on normal and mundane things like math. And while that was good, they desperately needed to get taught about the powers that will be with them for the rest of their lives.

"Well good then, I'll talk with Xavier later about it. I doubt the man will deny it, with how much it can help you guys" Gwen replied with a smile, happy to know that her decision on teaching might actually be helping some of these kids.

'Hmm...perhaps finding and saving some other mutant children could be a good idea. I don't have anywhere to take them just yet, but...I can build something' Gwen thought, as an idea began to slowly form in her mind, as a quest appeared in her vision.
