Chapter 303 Dragonborn

Chapter 303 Dragonborn

Chapter 303  Dragonborn

Euodias cleaved open a massive gash on the wyvern's neck. Its blood splattered on the ground, and smoke rose up. This blood was so acidic that it could blind a knight and the blood of a pure dragon could melt the body of an imperial knight with ease!

The wyvern flapped its wings, turned its neck despite the wound and bit down on Sirius's shoulder. Asher saw its heart glow.

It was about to spit frost!

Knowing this, went under the wyvern and plunged his sword into its chest. Grunting, he forced the blade deeper, ignoring the blood that splattered on his armor making sizzling sounds. "No!" Count William stopped fighting when he heard the dying cries of the wyvern and he turned only to see what his mind would have never imagined. A descendant of the dragon bloodline being pinned down by a wolf and a man pulling out his sword from its heart. "Boy! We must kill him now!" Rumble!

Cain diverted 500 cavaliers and charged toward Asher with his father. Doing this meant they had sacrificed their elite cavaliers to the Ashbourne bladebreakers but clearly, his father saw greater gain in the head of Asher.

He would sacrifice anything for it…. Including his young brother, Levi!

Boom! Asher stared at the fallen wyvern, panting heavily with his lips slightly parted.

[Upgrade material found: Wyvern's scale.]

[Would the host like to upgrade the armor, Exodus the conqueror? Yes or No?]

[Upgrade materials found: Wyvern heart & Wyvern's eyes.]

[Before the vital parts lose their use, would the host like to fuse them into the half-giant, Alec thus upgrading him into a half-blood dragonborn? Yes or No?]

[Note: Dragonborns were once a species of humans forged in the labs of mages through the vile, unused knowledge in alchemy. They can sense powerful beasts, especially those with dragon blood and are attracted to the blood of dragons, thus feasting on it.]

'Do it.' [Due to the effects of beastial instincts, the loyalty of your general is subject to change. Be warned.]

[Do I proceed? Yes or No?]

Asher turned to Alec who was on his knees as the battle went on. The general spent his force and stamina. He had pushed himself to the limit right from the start of the battle and had lasted for three hours before the fight against the wyvern left him incapacitated.

A little bit to the left, Asher saw Eritrea and Paul fighting a black shadow. There was no doubt Enos sent it to kill Alec.

"Go kill Enos."

Sirius responded with a soft growl. As it turned and dashed off, Asher faced the texts once again.

'Do it.'

Boom!

A golden beam crackling with lightning fell from the sky, engulfing Alec. A wave of mana, a much superior energy blasted outward in waves. It was so powerful that the portals through which the dukes watched the battle were destabilized and the messengers exposed.

Seeing this, the messengers quickly hid behind trees, their eyes wide as they beheld the thunderous transformation. While Alec's upgrade created windstorms, frost waves and thunderous sounds, the upgrade of Exodus was more subtle.

Light connected his armor to the wyvern's corpse and by the time the soft light died down, his once golden white armor had transformed into a black armor with layers of diamond shaped scales!

The rib part of the armor was still golden, the same with the forehead of the helmet but the rest was reinforced. Asher hit his sword against the armor but it didn't make the usual sound that occurs when metal touches metal.

It was different this time. The sound was quite dull. Lifting up his sword, he saw a reflection of himself through the crystal clear azure blade. Even he couldn't believe the man in the reflection was himself. At this moment, the golden light became blue and died out, revealing a 7 foot tall man with long flowing hair. His pupils became slits and shone with a piercing blue light. One could see the blue crystal heart embedded into his chest since his breastplate dematerialized. Standing there, Alec was like the work of a sculptor, as he advertised his perfect set of muscles.

A cold force billowed out of him and the crimson light that once manifested upon release of his force was now blue and white mixed together.

"What in Tenaria is that?" Count William frowned while Cain's spine tingled at the sight of Alec. Just standing there, he emanated a murderous intent so thick that it could crush the mind of an ordinary human.

A being that could kill with his mere gaze!

This shook Count William. Count Ira who was still at the periphery of the battlefield, sensed a presence causing him to turn to the man approaching him.

It was the Archduke's messenger.

"My Lord, I'm here to transport you to safety." Hearing this, Count Ira frowned. "Safety? Our men will clearly overpower the Ashbournes soon eno—!"

From the corner of his eyes, he saw a blue light flash. It was Alec's eyes and yet his gaze alone froze thousands of their soldiers!

An oppressive force descended on the battlefield. The momentum of Count Tigris' men dropped while Asher's men fought even more valiantly. Meanwhile, Sirius located Enos and was in a heated battle against him and his men. Seeing the wolf breathe flames that roasted dozens, Count Ira began to rethink.

"My Lord, the wyvern is dead and if I'm not mistaken that man is now a man-beast. His state of balance is much higher than Lord Slade in his prime!" Hearing this, Count Ira faltered. "And… the most powerful on this battlefield hasn't even fought. I can sense a force denser and thicker than anything inside Count Asher. He's no mere lord." Count Ira's pupils shook.

Could it be… Could the prophecy be true? With the rise of the abyss force, House Ashbourne would rise from the ashes.

Archduke Zenas rose in the dark age, an era where knights and nobles perished was where he thrived and now… Another Ashbourne had risen from the ashes of this fallen house.
