Chapter 737 Evolution
Chapter 737 Evolution
While Rain was thinking of what he should do, he lost several hours without coming with any conclusion. He only found his answer when he found his kids training while being watched by Terra and Seara. Sealyn was watching them as well silently. It seemed that she was absorbed on the sparring as well.
"Remember this: if you see an opening, don't hesitate in using it," Terra said. "Don't hesitate in using the weakness of the adversary as well. If they are hurt in the leg, kick them in the leg. If their arms are broken, punch the broken part."
Rain's reaction to Terra's words was a frown that betrayed a mix of disagreement and concern. While he acknowledged the strategic importance of exploiting the adversaries' vulnerabilities, he found himself worried by the notion of imparting such complex ideas to their children.
It was a recognition that children, with their innocence and lack of understanding regarding the complexities of conflict, might not grasp such strategic concepts. He considered the importance of protecting their innocence against the necessity of preparing them for the reality of the world they lived in.
"Isn't that cowardly, mama?" Annie asked.
"If you are using that against someone weaker, it is, but not if you are fighting against someone stronger," Terra said. "If you fight against someone stronger, they are in the wrong, so you don't have to worry about being mean to them. Do your best to win and escape."
At least Terra wasn't saying that they should go far from that… in any case, seeing his kids trying hard, made Rain understand that his path wasn't wrong. Even if he doesn't accomplish what he wants… it wasn't a mistaken path.
"I died once trying to do the right thing when everyone else wronged me and I received a second chance, there is no way that this is wrong," Rain thought.
With a clear mind, Rain began to think again about the future. Learning new techniques was fine, but improving the ones that he already had or at least making them more efficient should be easier.
Level 80: Swift Footwork (88) - Allows for swift movement and evasive maneuvers in combat, increasing movement speed by 10% per level for ten seconds after dodging attacks.
Level 85: Masterful Grappling (95) - Provides the ability to perform devastating throws and immobilization techniques, increasing grappling and submission damage by 1% per level.
Level 90: Supreme Resilience (95) - Increases resistance to physical ailments, poisons, and debuffs by 2% per level.
Level 95: Perfect Form (85) - Executes attacks and movements with perfect timing, increasing overall effectiveness by 5% per level.
"I am pretty close to mastering the Physical path. Should I focus on that instead and see what happens?" Rain thought. "Even the first skill of the High Human Path was very useful, so this should be the same thing."
It shouldn't take that long if Rain goes to a dungeon and stays there for a day or two. They are all passive skills, after all. In any case, Rain wasn't expecting any changes when it came to his physical appearance this time.
In the end, Rain decided to sneak out from his home at night and then train on the dungeons at night for a few days and no one noticed that and he also told the warriors stationed there to stay quiet about it.
After doing that for three days, Rain was able to tell that after just one more day, he would be able to max out the path. He wanted to keep up until he managed to do that on the third night, but the sun was rising and he didn't want to make anyone try to follow his insane pace… his wives already helped him too much.

When they woke up, they found Rain in the garden trying to improve the Power Nap… just thinking of the name of the skills made them a bit annoyed, but in the end, they didn't think too much about it since they could tell that Rain was up to something again.
Before they could interrogate him, they saw Rain getting up and then suddenly punching the air… he did that countless times and since he didn't try to mask that, even though he was so fast, they still could see his arms moving in a blur. He did that until he ran out of Stamina, so that took a while… and he kept going until he was so slow that they thought that something was wrong with him.
"Is he trying to come up with a new technique?" Seara asked.
"I think he just noticed us and is just trying to make us forget about our worries," Terra replied. "By acting like usual."
Terra's guess was half right… Rain wanted that as well, but he still was training for real. Keep increasing his Stamina to make Limit Breaker work for longer was fine and all, but he wanted to make his body endure that by using less energy as well.
That was why he kept punching even though he could hear his bones cracking… There are some techniques that decrease the mana of some spells, but they didn't work with Magic Boost. Still, before he could do that, he had to try with stamina since it was easier to control.
"While my strength and vitality, and endurance increased, the most basic skills still consume the same amount of stamina, so just increasing my parameters won't make skills consume less energy, they only become more efficient in terms of damage caused," Rain thought.
The concept of efficiency in living organisms, especially in terms of energy usage and conservation, aligned with the principles of evolution and adaptation. Over the course of millions of years, living beings have undergone evolutionary processes that favor traits and mechanisms conducive to survival in their environments on Earth… Rain wanted to make use of that in that world of magic.
He was willing to go to great lengths for it...
