Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 455 The Springriver Manor's Preparedness

Chapter 455 The Springriver Manor's Preparedness

While Jillian was thinking about the items she could bring in order to at least reach level 5 or level 10 of the Zombie Challenge, her thoughts were interrupted by the footsteps of Mr. Wadsworth, the dutiful manager of the Springriver Manor.

The elderly gentleman approached her with his usual impeccable posture. He still had his graying hair neatly combed back and a clipboard in hand.

"Miss Jillian," he said.

"Lord Shane has given his instructions to ensure that all members of Eclipse Revenant are adequately equipped for the upcoming event."

Jillian raised an eyebrow, curious. "Equipped? I'm not exactly the type to charge headfirst into battle, Mr. Wadsworth. Surely, you know that."

As she said this, she imagined herself wearing some armor to fight against the Zombies. That wouldn't help at all. Perhaps if she has some high-caliber guns and upgraded ammunition, she might be able to clear several levels. However, she doesn't think that she could obtain such items since the resources being allocated to her wouldn't allow her to obtain such expensive weapons or equipment.

In any case, she was safe within the protection of this wall, so she couldn't really complain.

"Hoho~"

Mr. Wadsworth smiled after hearing her reply.

"Indeed, which is precisely why Lord Shane has allocated specific resources to you. According to his directive, all members must reach at least Level 30, regardless of their specialization."

Jillian's harp nearly slipped from her hands. "Level 30? Is he out of his mind? Fighting one-on-one against Mid-Tier Zombie is already tough for me!"

Mr. Wadsworth smiled faintly and placed a detailed list on the small table beside her. "To ensure your success, you have been granted the following:

100 Tokens: 50 Offensive-Type Tokens, 30 Defensive-Type Tokens, and 20 Support-Type Tokens.

50 Different Talismans: 25 Lightning Talisman, 10 Healing Talisman, 10 Strength Talisman, and 5 Warding Talisman

Complete Tier 4 Elite Survivor Set: Includes hat, inner shirt, vest, pants, pair of boots, pair of gloves, knapsack, and hatchet.

Jillian's eyes widened as she confirmed that it didn't just end there!

Additionally, she would be receiving consumables such as Dragon's Veil Elixir, Spirit Stones, and Berserker's Elixir, which would be provided in abundance.

Jillian scanned the list carefully, confirming that an upgraded Pistol and Ammunition would also be provided.

After reading the list, she couldn't stop smiling!

With this many items, it would be too embarrassing if she still couldn't reach level 30 of the event at this point!

She hadn't expected this level of preparation. "Lord Shane really thought of everything," she murmured.

"Indeed. His expectations for the Clan are high," Mr. Wadsworth said.

He knew very well that that the weapons, elixirs, talisman, and others were mostly made here in the Springriver Manor.

The weapons were under Leo's group's care, the medicine and other elixirs were Anna's work, and Aya and her assistants made all types of talismans.

Right now, their shelter could produce numerous materials that could be sold in the Marketplace for a high price.

Mr. Wadsworth then continued.

"He believes that even non-combat specialists like yourself can contribute greatly to the Eclipse Revenant's reputation. He mentioned that he had a feeling that despite this being an individual event, the overall result would still reflect the Clan's ranking."

Jillian took a deep breath, as she didn't really think too much of this.

However, it seemed that Mr. Wadsworth was correct, and there would still be a Clan Leaderboard for this event.

Anyway, while she still doubted her ability to clear Level 30 easily, Shane's support and resources gave her a glimmer of hope to really accomplish it.

With her Famous Bard Talent and the arsenal she'd been provided, perhaps she could charm, heal, and strategize her way through the early levels.

Rising from her seat, she set her harp aside and looked at Mr. Wadsworth…

"Alright. I'll be preparing for a bit and plan my approach on this. If Lord Shane believes in me, I suppose I should at least give it my all."

"Very good, Miss Jillian," Mr. Wadsworth replied with a nod. "The manor staff will deliver your equipment and supplies shortly."

As he left, Jillian felt inspired and thought of another melody that might be more threatening against the Zombies…

Soon, her fingers danced over the strings of her harp, this time with a lively and stubborn tune.

Just like that, the Manor resonated with her melody as she prepared for the Zombie Challenge…

Within the mansion just outside the inner wall of the Springriver Manor.

Whoosh~

Raze stepped out of the bath. Steam curled around her as droplets of water slid down her toned, athletic figure.

Her red hair clung damply to her shoulders, and some hair strands stuck to her neck as she reached for a towel.

Wrapping it securely around herself, she walked barefoot across the smooth stone floor of her chambers…

After hearing some sounds of movements, her gaze fell on Roan, her red dragon, sprawled across her bed.

Roan's massive frame had already outgrown his previous resting spot beside the window.

Now, his red-scaled body took up most of her bed, his long tail was lazily draped over the edge, and his golden eyes half-lidded in satisfaction.

His breaths were deep and even, but when Raze entered, his nostrils flared slightly, and a low, rumbling purr escaped him.

"Are you sleepy?" Raze asked, and a small smile tugged at her lips as she approached.

Roan tilted his head, as if he were more amused than tired. The dragon didn't need to respond with words—his emotions were clear with the mysterious connections on their soul.

Raze chuckled softly. "I see. You're just waiting for me, aren't you?" she said as she ran her fingers on the polished scales of the red dragon.

Roan nuzzled against her hand, and she sighed.

"We won't go out hunting today," she said, walking over to her wardrobe. "We'll be busy soon enough."

Raze wore her inner garments, followed by her Dragon Knight Armor, a Tier 5 masterpiece that had a muted metallic luster.

Needless to say, the armor was crafted from a unique alloy reinforced with dragon scales, which gave a faint sign of red and black.

To make it beautiful, she even asked Leo to make an intricate engraving on the pauldrons that resembled dragon wings in flight while her breastplate bore the sigil of a roaring dragon's maw.

Of course, this may seem just like ceremonial armor, but this suit was also suitable for combat.

It was flexible enough for swift movements yet durable enough to withstand even Monk Chaloem's strongest punch without using his Aura.

After her armor, it was followed by her gauntlets that granted her strength and fire resistance, while her boots could help her negate any knockback abilities. At this point, it was extremely difficult to make her fall to the ground.

Anyway, her outfit was completed with a crimson cape trimmed in gold, fastened by a brooch in the shape of a dragon's claw.

With her armor secured, she took out her greatsword from her inventory. It was a two-handed blade that could cut through even the Armored Tyrants.

After completing her preparation, Roan stirred from the bed. His tail was already flicking in anticipation as he stood near the door.

"Alright, let's go," Raze said, giving Roan a playful pat on the side.

The two then moved through the mansion's hallway…

At this time, there were still a few people moving about with their tasks.

The presence of these two, however, caught the attention of the staff and the few remaining Survivors preparing for the Zombie Challenge Event.

They would give a moment to acknowledge Raze's presence as she was one of the reasons why their shelter had always been safe. Although she would also disappear with her small team for a few days or weeks from time to time, everyone knew that they were all subjugating areas filled with zombies or areas controlled by the Necromancers.

Soon, the duo arrived at the war room, where Shinja, the towering Warlord, was waiting for her. At the center of this chamber was actually a map of about 30 kilometers around their Manor.

Everyone would discuss various strategies to deal with the Zombies or defend against the Wild Shelters, and they would do it here.

This time, however, the discussion would be different.

Shinja looked up as Raze entered. He then nodded in acknowledgment and spoke…

"Raze. Are your preparations already enough?"

"Yes," Raze replied. Stay connected with empire

"But I wanted to talk about the Manor's defense before we leave. You'll be in charge while the rest of us are gone. That will be 72 hours, and I need to make sure that I won't be returning to the ruins of this Manor.

Shinja folded his arms as he knew

"The Manor will hold. I'll make sure of it." He said confidently.

Raze smiled faintly. "I don't doubt that. But still, I want you to know that Roan will leave some of his flames behind in the forge—just in case you need an extra boost for any traps or weapons."

Shinja raised an eyebrow. He was impressed since the dragon's fire could certainly be helpful in many situations.

"That could come in handy. I appreciate it…" Shinja said. After all, he already had a feeling that once the Foreign Survivors left, they would be challenged again.

It could be a horde of zombies, an army of undead summons, or other problems.
