Destroying My Own World

Chapter 189: A short encounter.

Chapter 189: A short encounter.

Jeanne and the others had landed in Poland, and they were unwelcome by the government. The government and the Awakeners and the Chosen Ones were trying to force them to leave. Since Jeanne was the leader, she was the one who gave the order, and she had no reason to listen to their threats.

"Kill those who raise their weapons at us, and do it quickly," Jeanne said as she looked over her shoulder to look at her team.

Lexus and Nexus with their team were more experienced in this kind of scenario, and so they took the first move. They killed the soldiers, Awakeners, and Chosen Ones before they could even do anything.

"We will move our separate ways as planned but first we have to secure the gate in Germany. Once we have taken the gate, Euros’ team will go to the south and west by splitting the team into two. Lexus and half of his team will move to the east while Nexus and the remaining team will stay in Germany. Brynhilde and I will move to the north," Jeanne said as she listened to the gunfire and the screams of people in the background.

They all nodded with understanding and then they all moved to where the portal was at.

Magnus was in his office when he heard the news about what had happened in Australia and the United Kingdom. He expected that something would happen somewhere in Europe, but then breaking news came on TV. He watched as Poland had been destroyed by Jeanne and the others. He was shocked that it happened earlier than he thought, and the fact that it was already too late for him to take a precaution.

"Tell his majesty the King to leave!" Magnus said on his phone.

Magnus was surprised when he heard the reply and baffled by it.

"What do you mean he doesn’t want to leave his place? Didn’t the king see the news on what happened to the king of the United Kingdom? I don’t care what he’s thinking, just drag his ass and put him somewhere safe! If he still doesn’t want to leave, then I’ll be the one dragging his ass," Magnus hung up the phone and hurriedly left his office to get his stuff.

Magnus brought his strongest Awakeners and Chosen Ones to protect the king. The country wouldn’t be able to survive without the king and his authority because only chaos awaited them.

Once Magnus arrived, he didn’t lie about him dragging the king away from his palace. Nobody stopped him because they all had the same thought as him which the king’s life was more important than the country. He had a place that came to his mind where the king and his family would be safe, and that was inside the gate.

"Are you sure the Gods will accept our request?" A man asked as he entered the car with Magnus.

"I’ll beg on my knees and lick their feet even if I have to," Magnus answered with a serious expression. "That’s the plan, but I have prepared a backup plan if it didn’t work," Magnus added as he looked back and saw the royal family’s cars follow them from behind.

"What’s the backup plan?" he asked.

"I’ll beg on my knees and lick Jeanne’s foot to let the royal family live. I don’t know if that would work, and if that didn’t work, we only have one last option and that’s to fight them head-on," Magnus answered and he looked anxious.

It took them a few hours until they finally reached the mountain where the gate was at. When they walked out of the cars, the queen was sobbing and when Magnus found out what had happened, he was surprised that Germany, Netherlands, Czechia, and Austria had fallen under Jeanne and her team. They also heard that Jeanne and Brynhilde were on their way to Denmark, and that meant they were only a few hundred miles away from them.

"They’re really going all out on this. We shouldn’t have provoked them," Magnus said as he looked to the south.

Jeanne was preparing to leave with Brynhilde after they had secured the gate in Germany. They were the last team who hadn’t left since Euros and the others had moved to different countries to terrorize them.

"We got company, Jeanne," Nexus said as he saw the cars in the distance.

"There’s still someone brave enough to come to see us?" Nia asked as she stretched her arms and watched the cars get closer and closer.

There were six SUVs parked in front of them, and then a woman with long bright yellow wavy hair came out of the car. She looked fearless as she walked toward Jeanne and the others, and she seemed to be looking around. Then twenty people came out of the car and followed her from behind.

"I thought he would be here," The woman said.

"He? Whom are you looking for?" Nexus asked with his eyebrows raised.

"Mykel Alester," The woman answered and looked at Nexus and the others. She counted there were only six of them while she had twenty behind her. "Well, it doesn’t matter. You came to my country and killed my people, so I have to do the same thing to you," The woman added.

Jeanne wondered who that woman was, and how she only looked for Mykel. She was glad that she hadn’t left, and so she walked toward the woman with the intention of finding out who she was.

"Since we have the same interest, I want to know why are you looking for him?" Jeanne asked and stood in front of the woman and glanced at the twenty people behind the woman who was on guard.

"I have been instructed by my Goddess to send her regards to him. She has a personal grudge against Mykel and I believe killing all of you would be enough to give satisfaction to her," The woman answered and stared into Jeanne’s eyes.

"Is your Goddess Mara?" Jeanne asked with a cold expression.

"I’m amazed that you know," The woman smirked. "Yes, she-" Before she could finish her sentence, something was weird about her throat as if something was stuck and prevented the air from coming out of her pipe. When she looked down, a sword had already struck her neck and pierced through her nape.

Jeanne swung her sword and beheaded the woman, but he was surprised that there was no blood coming out of the woman’s head or neck. She realized that the woman wasn’t real, and then the woman’s body turned into black smoke.

"I’m not stupid enough to deal with all of you head-on like that," The woman appeared from the same black smoke. "I know how strong all of you are since I have been informed about you and what kind of powers that you all possess," The woman continued.

Jeanne looked at the woman and the black smoke she emitted, and it reminded her of Mara’s power. If what she thought was right, the woman would be unkillable because she was nowhere near them and she had expected that she didn’t feel any power from the woman or the people behind her.

"Petty tricks," Jeanne scoffed as she looked at the woman. "Do you think I can’t hurt you even if you’re not real?" Jeanne asked and then slashed her sword at the woman’s chest.

The woman touched her chest and she was shocked that she could feel the pain. The woman’s body turned into smoke and didn’t show herself again, so Jeanne swung her sword and created wide projectile attacks at all the twenty people in front of her. The projectile attacks cut in half all the buildings a few hundred meters in front of her.

The twenty people turned into smoke and none of them showed themselves anymore. Jeanne knew that they felt the pain from her cut, and she knew they were all screaming in pain at that moment. She then sheathed her sword and deactivated her [Austerity] skill.

"If you came unprepared, then don’t bother to show yourself to me," Jeanne said as she walked back.

Nexus and the others were surprised that it would be that easy for Jeanne to deal with them. They knew that it would take them a while if they were the ones who faced them.

"Let’s go, Bryn. Our mission is up north and I believe Nexus and the others can deal with them," Jeanne said as she grabbed her backpack and went to the north.
