Chapter 1809 Reinforcement
Tang Shaoyang returned to the frontier, and Commander Edson rushed toward him as soon as he sighted the young administrator.
"You can order your subordinates to take the loot!" Tang Shaoyang pointed at the scattered pile of equipment behind him. He thought Edson would be asking for that, but he was wrong.
"What did you do to your team? Can you do it to my soldiers?" Edson immediately went straight to the point. Despite his short interaction with the young administrator, he knew that flattery would not work for the young administrator. He went straight to the request, the power-up.
Tang Shaoyang furrowed his brow but was reminded of the army of the void creature under the Void Gate. He understood why Edson made such a request to him, especially after witnessing how powerful his team was in the battle.
"I can't do it, especially for the entire army. I can only do it with up to eight people."
Edson furrowed his brow when he heard, but it was to be expected because the skill would be too powerful if Tang Shaoyang could power up an entire army.
"Then I will choose a few people to receive—"
Tang Shaoyang cut him off before Edson finished his words. "I never agreed to use the skill on your subordinate, Commander Edson. And I will never agree to use the skill on the people I don't trust. I will not use the skill on your subordinates!" He emphasized the last part once more.
The frown on Edson's forehead deepened when he heard an outright refusal. "What do you mean!? We are at war! How could you still be selfish like this just to keep your skill secret from us!?"
"That's right, we are at war, and I fought together with you, or maybe not…" He recalled that he went on his own during the battle. "I helped you, killing the void creatures, getting rid of the bodies before it became nasty, and I don't take any of those loots even though I have my own army to arm, knowing those loots will help your legion."
"You keep your lecture for your subordinates, not me. I came here to help you as an extra reinforcement, and I did what I was supposed to. In this battle, you suffered fewer casualties, or maybe none at all because I have killed the strong void creatures, more than half of them before they could reach the wall."
"If we see based on contribution alone, I think I did the most work during this battle. You can't ask for more than that, Commander Edson."
"But your duty as administrator is to fight the Void Cult. Helping us will help you to achieve your goal to—"
Tang Shaoyang cut Edson once more. "You are overreaching Commander Edson. I know you are doing this for the sake of your subordinate. You don't want this skill for yourself but for your subordinates. However, I also have people to protect, and I can't give you or your people my secret just for them to sell it to my enemies!"
"That's enough, Commander Edson. Whatever you try to say, you will not change my mind!" He raised his hand to stop Commander Edson from continuing the conversation. Edson could not say anything after that. The young administrator told him that the Hurakan Legion could not be trusted, and he could not deny that for what happened before. One of his generals helped the young administrator's "enemy" with a bribe.
He knew that the Nirvana Alliance and the God Order, and those two would use everything to get to know that powerful skill because that could change the flow of battle. He wanted to guarantee that he would choose the people that could be trusted, but he knew that his words did not have credibility after one of his generals' deeds.
Edson did a background check on the young administrator, and he knew almost everything about the young administrator. How the young administrator almost wiped out the overseers for his trials because they tried to take something from him. The conflict between him and the Nirvana Alliance who wanted to kill him just because of his class. Also, the God Order tried to take the first tamed calamity.
Looking at the retreating figure, Edson let out a sigh. He sent a command to his people to gather the loot as he called all his generals for a meeting.
Everyone expected the worst when they saw the organized void creatures, but they came out on top with less than a hundred casualties for the five days of continuous battle. The Reds who came down to the ground and fought the army of the void creatures on the ground played a big part.
The army of the void creatures was distracted, not all of them focused on the wall. No matter how big and how sturdy the wall was, it was bound to fall if the void creature used everything to take down the wall.
The battle was not over, and the next one would be worse for them after the Void Cult learned how they fought. He needed something more than just The Reds, maybe an additional reinforcement from the administrator would help too.
Commander Edson returned to the barrack with his generals and discussed what they should do for the next fight. He connected with the King of the Hurakan Kingdom and started the meeting.

Khaya finished taking a bath, came out from the bathroom with her casual outfit, and sat at the edge of the bed. Commander Edson gave them special treatment, allowing them to get a rest instead of joining the soldiers to watch the wall.
After five days of battle, the first thing she did once she returned was to take a bath. That was so refreshing, and she checked how many void creatures they killed this time.
219,254/1,000,000 kills
From thirty thousand, it shot up to twenty hundred thousand. This was their second battle against the void creatures, and they had achieved the second goal of one hundred thousand kills. With such progress, they would eventually reach one million goals before their mission was over.
"This is possible because of him…" She muttered in a low voice. The figure of her captain in the battle resurfaced in her mind, and she had to admit that her captain was another level of a monster. She understood why the Executive Administrator wanted to promote her captain to Chief Administrator so quickly.
With that kind of power, her captain did not deserve his current rank. Even among the Chief Administrators, she believed that her captain would be the strongest one.
"Or maybe he is on the same level as the Executive Administrator…"
For some reason, she expected a response in her head. Radiance would not stay still every time he had the chance to boast about his master or his fellow spirits. She had gotten used to hearing his voice in the last five days, and she felt like something was missing when she did not hear him.
The fusion was canceled a few minutes ago, and the reason why she just took a bath even though she had returned after a while. She would not take a bath when there was someone inside her.
A message popped out, and it was from her clan member. [Captain's back.]
Khaya dashed toward the door, and she met three of her clan members. They all turned toward her, confused as to why their former captain was in such a hurry.
She coughed a few times, playing it cool as if nothing happened. She straightened her clothes and walked to the stairs. When she arrived on the first floor, she caught a glimpse of her captain's back, getting into his own room.
Khaya went to Ira who was currently munching a local snack. "What's our next assignment?"

A few days after the battle against the army of the void creature. Tang Shaoyang was called by Commander Edson for a discussion. He was allowed to bring up to four people with him into the meeting, and Team Kalisto received the same invitation from Commander Edson.
Everyone knew that their commander had been in a meeting for the last few days, trying to secure more reinforcements for the next battle. They won the first battle, but the battle was not over.
Captain Atkins, the squad captain under Commander Edson picked them up and guided them to the meeting location. The meeting room was quite small, and could only accommodate up to twenty people at most. It was much smaller than the one he had in the capital or the one in the Administrator Space.
The commander was seated at the end of the long table with his seven generals around him. Tang Shaoyang took the seat closest to the door which was furthest from the commander. There was no particular reason he chose this seat because it was closest to him. Khaya, Anne, and Ira sat to his left, and Team Kalisto sat across from them.
"I will get straight to the point as to why I call you here. After a long discussion, we agreed to create an alliance army because of the unprecedented situation we have right now. The alliance army compromised several alliances and factions that volunteered to send their force to help us, and I want you to take command over the alliance army. They have agreed for the administrator to take the command instead of choosing one of them. They want an unbiased commander to lead them, and they agreed for the administrator to lead them!"
