Chapter 1810 Disagreement

Chapter 1810  Disagreement

Tang Shaoyang did not like what he heard, furrowing his brow when he listened to the alliance army. While The Nirvana Alliance and the God Order might not be part of this alliance army because of their punishment, they might have an ally within this alliance army. Just like how the God Order asked Palmas to kill him, these two alliances would ask their ally to kill him.

With the attack from the army of the void creature, they could disguise his death and blame it on the void creature. If he was truly killed, there was nothing anyone could do, including the Hurakan Kingdom. They would not side with him to seek out justice rather than anger the alliance army with an accusation without proof, no matter how suspicious they were.

Tang Shaoyang could not prevent this as well. The Hurakan Legion needed reinforcement for the war, and this was inevitable.

'Now I have to worry about my back as well. There's a clan from the Dragon Realm as well as the Ancient Kingdom and the Sorc Clan.'

"You seem not to like the idea of the alliance army, Senior Administrator Tang Shaoyang." One of the generals seated to Commander Edson's left noticed him. His tone was neutral, but the way the man addressed him, made him think this general did not like him. This man was the first one to address him with his position.

"Yeah, I don't like it, and Commander Edson knows that I am not that good at leading people, especially that many people. I will not take the role and let Team Kalisto take the command over the alliance army."

No one expected that Tang Shaoyang would express bluntly that he did not like the alliance army and did not want to have anything to do with it. Including the general who asked him. The only one who expected such an answer was Ira, and she was shaking her head.

"It's one hundred thousand army, and you can't expect one team to lead that many people. You must bear the same responsibility as the administrator!" The same commander slightly raised his voice, trying to portray that Tang Shaoyang wanted to avoid the duty.

"You know it's a lot of people, and you know we need a capable one to lead them. You can't just appoint some random guy with no experience to lead them." Tang Shaoyang shrugged, "In the first place, you never asked for our consent, my consent. You are agreeing to their demand without asking me first. I am not part of the Hurakan Legion! I am not your direct subordinate, and I can refuse your order if I deem it unreasonable!"

The same general was about to retort back, but Commander Edson stopped his subordinate from making this worse. His subordinates treated the administrator like they were the soldiers, and he knew it would never work. Whether with Tang Shaoyang or any other administrators.

"You just need to lead them in the name. Each force has its own commander, most of the time you will be the mediator between them. Your presence in the alliance army to resolve the conflict that might arise in the alliance army."

Tang Shaoyang shook his head. "You just add one more reason for me to decline the position. What's the point of being the person in command if those people will not listen to me? No is no!"

"Even if it means that you will have to return early from your mission?" Commander Edson threw a threat to Tang Shaoyang. He knew a lot about the administrator and their mission. Each mission would grant them a reward. He did not know the reward, but the reward should be big as usually the Executive Administrator would be sent here. A reward that could move an Executive Administrator would be massive for a Chief Administrator and lower-ranked administrator.

Tang Shaoyang was surprised by the threat as he was not expecting that Commander Edson would threaten to send his team back just like Team Chalice. His impression of Edson was not this kind of person, but again, he was never really good at reading people.

Ira let out a sigh and shook her head. If it was anyone else, the threat might work. However, it would never work on her captain, and it would just make things worse. It was the same for Team Kalisto's leader, Atilla, who never threatened them because it would make things worse.

Tang Shaoyang leaned his body forward, resting his elbows on the table as he looked straight at the person in charge in this room. "It seems like you are mistaken about me, Commander Edson!"

The deep and solemn voice from him was unusual. He sounded casual and informal all the time, regardless of who he spoke to. The fact he changed, told everyone in the room that he was being serious.

"First, even if you send me back, the Executive Administrator will send me to another void gate. They sent me here because your side needs more hands than the other side. The mission will not be canceled just because you send me back, Commander Edson!"

"Second, if I have to choose between the Hurakan Legion and my team, I will choose my team over your people. I will not continue the mission knowing my team will be in danger, Commander Edson. That will make me unfit to be the commander of the alliance army if you need a reason not to choose me to be the commander."

"Third, I don't take a threat well, Commander Edson. I tend to overreact when someone threatens me, and fortunately, yours is a harmless threat, so I will overlook it. I am not trying to threaten, but a warning for the future if you decide not to send me back!"

Commander Edson let out a sigh even though his generals fumed. "I think I understand why you made a lot of enemies, Administrator Tang. You can't force everything in your way, you must compromise. If you never learn how to compromise, you will make more enemies in the future."

Tang Shaoyang let out a chuckle and leaned back to the chair again. "I don't know how it is for you, but I will not listen to advice from someone who just threatened me, Commander Edson. A harmless threat, but still a threat regardless, and again, I will not compromise if it means that I have to put my team, my people, or even my family in danger."

It was clear now that Tang Shaoyang could not be persuaded. Commander Edson turned toward Atilla. "How about you, Administrator Atilla?"

"My impression of you is a reliable commander who cares about their soldiers, but from this short meeting, it's enough to tell me not to trust you anymore. I have to agree with my friend even though I don't agree with his way of expressing it. You can't make decisions for us, we are not your direct subordinate, Commander Edson. You can't just expect us to agree with whatever you throw at us, and you should know it very well because you have taken the post for a very long time. I can tell you are undermining us just because we are not the Executive Administrator."

Atilla did not hesitate to criticize Commander Edson, with how they made the decision.

"I don't have ill intention, but I just want you to know that for our future cooperation if you don't send us back, of course. As for the commander role for the alliance army, I don't mind taking the role but I have my conditions as well. If you want me to be a commander, then you can't just give me the position, but the authority as well."

"As my friend said, what's the point of becoming a commander when they don't listen to me. If they have their own commander, then just assign them a post just like how you assign us a post, no? So yeah, I want the authority of a commander, not just the position."

Commander Edson was relieved that Atilla was willing to cooperate, but it was not easy with the conditions. Those alliances would not agree with the condition. He could see the future trouble in convincing the alliances to agree with the condition.

He let out a sigh and nodded. "Do you have more conditions?"

"I want to choose whom I will lead, which alliances or factions under me, it's me who decides. I don't want any stupid conflict when we are fighting an army of void creatures. So yeah, I want to choose my own army and make sure that there are no alliances in conflict under my leadership."

"We can't be picky when the frontier is in danger!" The same general who had an argument with Tang Shaoyang earlier responded to Atilla. "We need all the reinforcements! We can't be picky!"

Atilla shrugged as if she did not care. "You can pick one of your generals to be their puppet commander if you can't agree with my condition, Commander Edson."

"It doesn't have to be the administrator, and I don't think I saw all of your generals during the previous battle. You have a spare general to lead the alliance army as the puppet commander, and I am sure no one is stupid enough to make an enemy out of the Hurakan Kingdom."

The word of the puppet commander caused the seven generals to frown. There were no words better to explain it, a commander without an authority over the army was the same as a puppet commander. That was the right word to describe the role of Commander for the alliance army.

At this point, Commander Edson realized that he had been doing what Atilla said. He was underestimating the two administrators' team just as she said earlier. He did it because they were not Executive Administrators, thinking they would agree with the assignment he put them into. That was why he did not involve them in the meeting even though it was related to them. Not just him, but his generals as well.

It because Tang Shaoyang, the young administrator was not arrogant and easy-going. He never put himself above the others even when the young administrator conversed with his subordinates. He forgot the true nature of the administrators.
