Chapter 396 This Love Moves Heaven and Earth!

When the archaeologist changed into her dress and came out, she happened to run into the steward leading several others upstairs.

"Wow! Teacher, you look so pretty in that dress!"

A girl in the archaeology team looked at her with shining eyes, full of envy.

This kind of dress, which focused solely on lavish extravagance without regard for practicality, indeed looked very attractive despite being a bit of a hassle.

Steward Armand Ray said with a beaming smile, "This evening, Prague Castle will host a banquet to welcome our distinguished guests from afar, and I hope everyone will attend in their finest."

The archaeologist nodded and watched as people entered the rooms prepared for them—their rooms were all connected.

But the castle was large and nine people didn't even fill half the corridor.

The Traveling Poet's room was located at the very end.

But as he made his way there, Steward Armand Ray suddenly spoke up to stop him, "Sir, your room is this way."

The man paused, turning his head to look at the steward, whose courteous and humble smile revealed nothing.

He calmly stated, "Please, lead the way."

Steward Armand Ray stepped forward to guide him; they crossed the corridor, turned a corner, and then went up to the third floor along the castle's flying buttress.

The third floor appeared even more exquisite and opulent than the downstairs area, with intricate reliefs carved into the barrel vaulted ceiling, and the wide corridor was framed with pillars entwined with rose vines on both ends.

However, the variety of roses here were less diverse than those on the lower floors and in the manor—they only had the color of deep crimson.

The steward brought him to a room near the end of the corridor, and as a gentleman, opened the door for him, "Respected guest, this is your room. Please rest well before the banquet arrives."

The man nodded, "Thank you."

Steward Armand Ray didn't say anything more and turned to continue forward, leaving the area through another corridor.

After watching the steward's figure disappear, the Traveling Poet entered the room and looked around carefully, before resting his gaze on the red roses blooming on the windowsill.

In the bright sunlight, the roses seemed to emit a sparkling glow.

Only the glow was a blinding red.

He approached, touched the delicate petals of the rose, and then bent down to pluck it from the branch.

And nothing strange happened.

Is this just an ordinary rose?

The Traveling Poet frowned at the red flower in his hand when suddenly, his gaze shifted, and he seemed to strain his ear toward a certain direction.

In the silence of the castle, a soft and melodious tune could be heard.

At the sound of the music, an odd compulsion welled up inside him; the unintelligible melody filled him with a longing, irresistibly drawing him to seek out its source!

It was a tremor that rose from the depths of his soul, an urge that he couldn't suppress!

What was playing the tune?

The Traveling Poet had unknowingly opened the door, and on the quiet and cool corridor, the melodious sound appeared even clearer.

The castle's vaulted ceilings were vast and broad, and the rose reliefs carved into them seemed to come alive at the melody's beckon, as if a rich scent of flowers permeated the air.

He took steps towards the depths of the castle, following the melody he couldn't understand.

[Congratulations to the player for triggering the Character Task: Cerys.]

As the system notification sounded, Xu Shuo, who was aimlessly playing the violin, paused and looked bewildered.

To tell the truth, he had simply been curious enough to try the violin after seeing it carefully placed on a chair, not even considering the idea of looking for a Character Card.

But sometimes, the more you seek something, the more elusive it becomes, and it's often the most casual actions that yield results.

He had once tried making lesson plans, a headache-inducing task, in search of Alpha's Character Card, yet ended up with nothing.

Now, he casually played a violin right in front of him, voila, the Character Card presented itself!

Xu Shuo felt that there were some issues with the system, to say the least.

After testing the violin's timbre, Xu Shuo intended to put down the violin, but the sudden rush of Cerys's memories into his mind inadvertently changed the direction of the bow, so he played the melody from his memory.

The tune was melancholy and lingering, filled with deep sorrow and resentment, and Xu Shuo felt listless after playing only half of it!

Cerys's memory was that of a tragic ghost story about unrequited love.

At the beginning of the last century, the Holy Court that ruled the empire ignited a mad witch-hunt known as the "Witch Trials," where millions of innocent women were deemed evil and brutally slaughtered.

As a true Night Witch, Cerys, having heard the rumors, fled with her treasures and slaves to the frontier to live a secluded life under a false name, and it was there she built Prague Castle.

Her lover, however, was a Holy Court knight who had mistakenly wandered into Prague Castle.

So this was destined to be a tragic tale.

The reason it's yet another ghost story— for the knight who stumbled into the deep mountain castle, only to be imprisoned by the witch, and despite great hardship, finally managed to escape the castle—it was a horrifying ghost story!

The love story ended with Cerys believing that she had selflessly let her lover return to freedom, a gesture that should have moved heaven and earth!

However, the knight returned the next day with the Holy Court's army, leveling Prague Castle to the ground. In despair and anger, the Night Witch naturally buried the entire Holy Court army.

This was a case of mutual destruction.

Yet Cerys, being a powerful Night Witch, revived her wicked soul from the rosebush soaked in blood, becoming a lonely ghost wandering through Prague Castle.

But later, she heard from travelers that the knight had not betrayed her; there was a different hidden truth.

And so, to seek the truth and to wait for the knight, Cerys began luring and hunting any humans who entered the castle, using their souls to sustain the existence of Prague Castle.

In this way, because of a fleeting rumor, Cerys waited for a century.

The servants and slaves in the castle had long since perished, leaving behind dolls nourished by souls, tools forged from flesh and blood.

The legends of Prague had become a genuine ghost story.

...

Xu Shuo felt that perhaps by now, Cerys herself was about to forget what purpose she had been staying here for.

She was now simply hunting those souls purely to maintain her consciousness.

As for that knight—the memories of the Green Knight had already become blurred.

So how exactly should Cerys's Character Card be filled out?

Xu Shuo stopped playing the violin and fell into deep thought.

Suddenly, he sensed something and abruptly looked toward the wide-open palace doors!

It was a silent and stealthy traveler, who had approached at an unknown time.

He was dressed in modern sweatshirt and pants, which stood out against the backdrop of Prague Castle, his calm features and profound eyes making him appear collected, and his amber gaze fixed directly onto Xu Shuo. Find your adventure at My Virtual Library Empire

Xu Shuo felt a chill in his heart—

The other party had managed to avoid detection by Prague Castle!

Nowadays, Cerys and Prague Castle were one and the same; in theory, she would be aware of every little movement within the castle.

Yet, Xu Shuo hadn't sensed him until he was quite close.

Interesting, is this the power of a Level Three Player?— Whether it was the right script or not, he might as well just play along.

Xu Shuo's mind raced, but his face still showed the surprise and astonishment of seeing another person. He then slightly furrowed his brow and willingly averted his gaze from the other's eyes.

"Sorry, I heard music and came here," the man at the door said, his voice devoid of guilt.

"This isn't the place for you."

Without looking at him, Xu Shuo hugged the violin close and said in a low voice, "You better leave this castle quickly, before it gets dark."

Upon hearing this, a slight change flickered through the eyes of the man at the door.
