The Werewolf King's Bride

Chapter 618 Raising The Dead

Chapter 618 Raising The Dead

(From Evan's Perspective)

"Why do we not get wolves here like mum's world? Or dogs?" Dion asked.

"Because in your mum's world, wolves cannot transform into people and people cannot transform into wolves," I said. "Dogs are quite the same as wolves, just less vicious and more friendly. We don't get them here probably because humans and werewolves are not same and we can never make a pet out of our own kind."

"Father's wolf is black."

"Yes."

"But I cannot do that. Mum said it's okay because she can't either. But she is a human. I am not. I am part werewolf. But I still can't transform into a wolf," Dion said sulkily.

"Well, I can't either."

"You can't?" Dion was surprised. Well, he was only four. He had great speech. Blue was surprised when Dion started speaking full sentences before he turned four. I was not. Werewolf children grew up differently than human children.

I shook my head. "I am a dark mage, like your Mum, but less powerful. I am a werewolf, but I am more of a dark mage."

"Really?" Dion seemed so happy to hear it.

"But it's a secret between us. Do you know what it means?"

"Of course! I cannot tell anyone about it!"

"That's right. You cannot tell anyone."

"Not even Mum?"

"Just your Mum then, okay?"

"Okay!"

I ruffled his hair. He had got thick hair.

"I wish you were my father," he murmured.

I was shocked to hear it. Dion had never said it before.

"Why do you say that?" I asked gently.

"Father is mean. He never talks to me like you do. He only talks to Mum," Dion said. "I told Mum and she said Father is different. But I wish it were you."

"Did you say this to your father too?" I asked.

"No," he shook his head.

"You shouldn't either. That would make your father sad."

"Really?"

"Yes. Your father loves you even if he can't show it."

"But he shows Mum how much he loves her. He tells her all the time."

"I know. But it's different with his kids. He loves all of you. So, you should never say him what you told me, okay?"

Dion nodded. "Okay."

Blue leaned against the mango tree and sighed.

"Who was she?" I asked.

She did not say anything. I looked at her and was shocked to find tears on her cheeks.

"Blue? What's wrong?"

She shook her head. I placed an arm around her and let her cry on my shoulder.

Back in the mansion, upon finding Damien's room empty, Blue had suddenly teleported. I had a hard time finding her, but I did, in the end. She had not gone far. She was still in the island. When I found her, she was with a girl. Or, a young woman.

The young lady had brown hair and blue eyes. I felt like I saw her somewhere, but was not sure. Blue was hugging her and crying. The lady showed no reaction at all. She just stood like a doll, as if she had no idea what was going on.

"That was… my niece. Dem's niece, actually. Her name is Ava," Blue said, her voice cracking.

"The one who was taken by Azure? Ava Easton?"

Blue nodded. "She has grown up so much… She acted so cold. She said she has no aunt and that I am not her aunt. She said we have no relationship. I don't know if she thinks that I abandoned her or if she truly doesn't remember me," she said. "I… Evelyn should know that her daughter is alive."

"Evan, you have to do this. You have to go back and tell Dem that Ava is alive and that I will come back later."

"Where will you go?"

"Ava gave me a message from Azure," she said. "Azure wants me to meet him and fulfill his one wish. If I do it, he will let Damien go."

"We are not even sure if Damien is with them."

"Ava brought me Damien's ring. I… I made that ring for him on his fifteenth birthday."

"It could be a…"

"It's not a duplicate. Please, Evan. I need to go. Will you please do as I tell you? Please…"

Blue promised not to do anything reckless, even for Demian. I was not sure if she intended to keep her promise. After all, she loved her children more than anything. Well, probably not more than her husband.

I returned to the palace only to find just Bree there. Apparently, Dion, Luc and King Demetrius went out to look for Blue.

"You think Demian went to Mum's father?" Bree asked. She had always been quite advanced. In fact, all of Blue's children were advanced.

"Don't know, Bree dear. Perhaps. But why would you say Demian went there? Shouldn't it be that he was kidnapped?"

Bree let out a laugh. "Mum and Father don't know, but Demian has been… Anyway, I don't think anyone can kidnap him."

"Azure is the most powerful dark mage of all time. Of course, he can, if he wants to," I pointed out.

Bree shook her head. "Demian can do things Azure cannot. Azure might be more powerful, but Demian has the advantage of surprise. Father always says that when fighting, those win who have the advantage of surprise, not those who are physically strong. I don't have much black mana, so I don't know how it is exactly, however, I think it is kind of the same with dark mages."

"It is quite the same," I said. "But what kind of surprise does Demian have up his sleeve?"

"Well, I don't know if I should tell you. I haven't told my parents yet. And Demian might not like it."

"Come on, Bree. It's a matter of life and death. If you should tell some time, it is now. Besides, you have known me all your life. You don't trust me?"

"I do. Father doesn't like you, but Mum trusts you, so I do too. But…"

"Bree, please."

Bree sighed, curling a strand of her shoulder length hair.

"One night, I was with this boy."

"A boy?"

"Yes. He is a stable boy. We were doing things in the cemetery."

"You are just twelve, Bree! And a cemetery?"

"Don't judge me. And yes, a cemetery. That's the safest place. It was the middle of the night. That was the third time I sneaked out. Mum didn't know because Demian broke the protective barrier around my room without her knowing. Anyway, Demian went there. He didn't see us. I sent the stable boy away and remained there, spying on him. And he…"

"He what?"

"He raised the dead."
