Chapter 1363 Hunting A Nigh Lord-class Beast
Chapter 1363 Hunting A Nigh Lord-class Beast
Surrounded like a rat, Shadow summoned its slaves by creating portals on the ground.
Flunra viewed hundreds of hands protruding out of these portals—the fallen Elves that were turned into mindless slaves, pulled themselves out of the portals. All of them varied in terms of power depending on how strong they were back when they were alive.
Allowing no time for them to get into formation, Flunra made another cleaving slash.
He shot forth a fan-shaped energy slash ahead.
Once the slash reached the slaves, some of them were cleaved but it didn't last long.
Clang!
Flunra and the Alpha Primes were surprised to see five slaves catching the energy slash.
A bronze aura seeped out of their forms as they struggled against the force.
Once their legs were out of the portals—these five slaves stood up firmly and redirected the slash upwards. All five of them tilted the slash enough, that it flew above their heads, and as the energy reached meters away, they fired five arrows, shattering the energy slash.
Seeing this, Flunra's gaze returned back to these five slaves.
"Somehow, they were able to retain their dark nature element even in death?" He muttered.
He thought the slaves would only be physically strong or wield the death element granted by Shadow but it seemed he was wrong. Shadow glanced at Flunra and smirked, its deadly eyes were pompous with arrogance.
More and more slaves climbed out, Shadow was standing at the center, growling.
In mere moments, hundreds of slaves stood before them.
But as Shadow was basking in the exhilarating situation, reeling now that it outnumbered the opponent by at least a hundred to one—its eyes caught sight of something in the distance. It was a reflection of the moonlight, bouncing from glistening claws.
Claws protruded out of some sort of border and ripped open the dimension.
Once the dimension was torn, a figure appeared, it was Rex.
"Phew~ The Demon Moon sure is handy," He muttered and tore the dimension wider.
Despite being a clone, he was still able to wield the moonlight energy and mana.
Since the night has ample mana, surging from the Demon Moon's phenomenon, he was able to use it to locate this pocket dimension that Shadow created to isolate Mavok and Fenrik, it only took a while for him to tear the dimension open.
As for Flunra, Adhara, and Gistella, he only told them the location of this pocket dimension.
Flunra was able to help them pierce through with an ancient rune.
Unlike his actual body, Rex's clone wasn't influenced by the Demon Moon, fortunately.
He was in perfect control and has a mind on its own.
Stepping out of the way, Valkis, as well as the other Elves and Werewolves poured in like an unending stream. All of them took the position to surround Shadow and its slaves, each one eager for a fight.
It took a couple of seconds before Shadow lost its advantageous number once again.
Now both sides were about even.
Seeing how their people were turned into mindless slaves, their deaths soiled by being pulled into the world of the living again, the Elves clenched their grips on their bows. Shadow needs to be eradicated.
Rex's clone landed on a tree branch and sat down, watching the battle from above.
He didn't seem to have any intention of meddling with the battle.
Shadow casts its gaze on him, sensing that he is the leader of this army.
"No need to be wary of me, I'm only an observer," He said, waving his hand. "I'm not fighting"
Once he said that Shadow returned its gaze to Adhara and growled once again.
Out of these bunch, it found Adhara the strongest of them all and the most dangerous.
As the wind blew cold with both sides on staredown, tense silence shrouded the entire area.
Sweeping its gaze across the enemies once again, Shadow unleashed a loud roar.
Roar!
Acting as a starting bell, the roar started the battle instantly.
Flunra, Gistella, Adhara, and the three Alpha Primes roared and led the charge head-on.
Valkis, Fenrik, and Mavok leaped to the center of the slave army and began clawing left and right, attacking anyone they could reach. Expecting this to be a breeze—they soon came to realize that it wasn't that easy.
Clang!
Mavok frowned when he saw his swipe was stopped by five elf slaves, way smaller than him.
He tried to double on the attack but these five parried it and were tossed skyward.
Lifting his gaze—Mavok's pupils dilated as he saw these slaves fire an arrow each from their bows in a seamless motion. He used his massive arm to protect himself—the arrows pierced through his arm and forced a grunt out of his mouth.
Checking his right arm, he pulled the arrows out and found the wounds were sizzling.
It sizzled with death mana.
Naturally, the death mana made the inflicted wounds worse, it killed the skin—and corroded the bones rapidly. But with the Demon Moon above, his regeneration was able to keep up, it fought back the death mana's corruption.
As a result, the wounds are healing but it took way longer to heal than normal.
Splash!
Just when Mavok was about to destroy the five slaves in mid-air, whistling arrows flew.
Most of the Elves that came with them took a defensive approach.
Nearly all of them darted from branch to branch with the agility of monkeys, showcasing the Elven race's unmatched prowess in woodland combat. Spotting Mavok in danger, they didn't waste time raining down a barrage of arrows on the five slaves.
Each one of the slaves mid-air was pierced by at least six arrows.
And all of them got an arrow perfectly piercing the center of their forehead.
Seeing this, Mavok moved on to the other slaves.
But he didn't forget to warn about the slaves' arrows.
Even though he might be fine after being struck by some, this might be bad for others.
"Don't get hit by their arrows! It's coated with death mana!" He shouted, alerting the others.
Hearing this, the Elves began to coordinate protective barriers as they moved.
It was pure chaos with the Werewolves clashing on the ground, and the Elves hanging on the trees, but the battle could be seen leaning away from Shadow's favor. On another side of the
battlefield, Shadow knew exactly who it needed to aim.
Crash!
Shadow crashed to the ground, its claws barely avoided by Adhara.
Black smoke exploded once it landed, Adhara wanted to get close but her senses told her to do otherwise. Nevertheless, the Demon Moon hindered her decision and made her charge in a reckless pursuit, her serpent spirit slithering quickly right beside her.
Her mind was experiencing in-and-out episodes.
One second she saw Shadow as what it was but the next second, Calidora replaced Shadow.
Such a mind puzzle made her go crazy and lashed out immediately.
Swoosh!
Exerting everything that she had to wipe the smirk—on Calidora's face, Adhara activated her Gladiator Form and blazed into torrents of purple fire, merging together with her snake spirit, heightening her power even more.
Summoning three fire scimitars behind her, she leaped upwards for a massive blow.
But once Shadow emerged from the cloud of dust, three death spheres were already formed around it like three dark energy balls. It roared, shooting the three death spheres—directly at Adhara and she responded by swinging the fire scimitars.
Boom!
Adhara clashed against the death spheres.
Her eyes glistened brightly as she infused her moonlight energy onto the fire scimitars.
Nobody could do this as easily as she did, it required immense control.
Elemental mana and moonlight energy didn't match in nature, it would create a blowback.
And as expected, the blowback occurred, Adhara's spirit core was electrocuted by her own moonlight energy but she didn't care. She has the blessing of the Demon Moon, she healed faster than normal.
If it costs vomiting blood or even pain, she would pay it to wipe Calidora's smirk.
Splash!
As the friction grew, Adhara saw her three scimitars shattering in front of her eyes.
Just like that, the three death spheres overpowered her fire scimitars easily and continued on without stopping. In fact, it increases in speed. Adhara didn't expect her scimitars to be shattered that quickly, she was too late to react.
But a barrier saved her, blocking the three death spheres before they could hit her.
Gistella came from the side, she managed to break free from the slaves and reach them.
Upon seeing this, Adhara quickly moved out of the way before the barrier broke.
All three death spheres flew skywards—and Gistella attacked from the side, her skin turning into steel scales—a unique ability of her bloodline. She clashed with Shadow, raining swipes at it with her tongue out, drooling like an animal.
Seeing her like this was a surprise, especially to Rex's clone.
Gistella was usually shy and refined but she turned like this under the Demon Moon.
Not that she was weak-willed—the Demon Moon's influence is just that bad.
Finding that Gistella was engaging fiercely, Adhara intended to shoot down from the sky but stopped when she sensed something behind him. Pivoting around mid-air, she saw the sky was covered in black fine, dark-colored powder.
It seemed to be some sort of substance that the death spheres created upon exploding.
Noticing her senses sensing danger from it, Adhara wanted to get out of the way.
But as she did that, multiple black skeletal lionesses reached out from this black powder.
Nearly a dozen skeletal lionesses poured from the black powder—leaping down from the sky with otherworldly grace as if summoned by the Gods themselves. Reacting quickly—Shadow lowered its head and charged at Gistella, hurling her through the air.
As she tumbled, Adhara managed to catch her and both landed on their feet.
Both growled in anger as Shadow was an annoying opponent.
However, they couldn't go back to Shadow—the skeletal lionesses swarmed them.
Given no time to react to this sudden change, the two were forced on the defense, and from the gaps, they could see Shadow becoming invisible once again. Despite the runic energy, it was able to become invisible.
Seeing them both on his periphery, Valkis came in to help.
A purple kingly energy oozed out of his body as he charged in like a purple blitz of light.
As one skeletal lioness opened its maw to bite down on Adhara, he came in clutch.
"Moon Ability, Five Violet Assault!"
Valkis attacked from the side in clutch, his claws struck the skeletal lioness hard, a savage side-swing that knocked it away. Not stopping at that—five more purple phantoms, struck the same exact place, the fifth one shattering its body completely.
He avoided Adhara's lash without a problem and continued fighting the skeletal lionesses.
Being present at the spot pulled the attention of a lot of skeletal lionesses towards him.
It allowed Adhara and Gistella to break free.
Glancing to the right, Gistella moved and struck the ground with her tail.
Upon doing that, Shadow's presence blinked to reality again.
Casting the Shadow Lock skill—Gistella, was able to stop Shadow from moving, allowing the Female Alpha to come charging with a violent attack. Using her fire elements, she heated up her claws and drilled them into Shadow's neck.
Like butter, her claws pierced through, finally drawing blood from the monstrous beast.
She landed the first lethal attack but Shadow was far from done.
It lashed out even more violently, breaking free from the Shadow Lock and attacking Adhara.
From the side, Rex's clone's eyes lit up when a notification appeared.
<Pack Quest completed!>
<Obtained 2x Ring of Silverstar, Eternal Death Affinity, and 10 Pack Skill Upgrade>
Once the pack quest was completed—Rex's clone stood up as he now was allowed to give a hand to the others. He still has many Pack Skill Upgrades, that he hadn't used, and with this, Adhara, Gistella, and Flunra should have a higher chance to defeat Shadow by themselves.
But as he stood up, he stopped and frowned at the situation.
Shadow is surrounded and its slaves are also being picked down one by one so why is it still adamantly staying here instead of finding a different terrain?
Rex's clone pondered—he was confused about what made Shadow stay here, and fight.
I don't understand why it didn't try to find another more favorable place to fight on.
Gazing at Shadow who was fighting desperately, Rex's clone squinted suspiciously.
