Chapter 109 Arin's Plan

Chapter 109 Arin's Plan

After seeing these Progenitors, Arin realized that even if they showed him respect, they would still try to force him to stay in the Vampire Kingdom.

He truly knew a lot about the Phoenixes... Things that the Vampires didn't know.

So, the plan was simple.

'Like they say, information is power,' Arin thought. 'I just have to use the information I have about the Phoenixes to make sure that I won't be messed with here.'

'Because of the information I have, they'll need me,' Arin thought. 'And I won't be toyed with.'

He would use the information to push them to a corner, leaving them with no choice but to listen to him.

"I just have one question," Serak suddenly said. "What do the Phoenixes look like?"

Of course, except for Sylas, the others in the room knew what the Phoenixes looked like. Serak was just asking this question to see if Arin truly knew the Phoenixes.

Arin folded his arms before replying, "They look entirely like humans with no distinctive features, but once they change to their original form, they have two orange-colored wings with orange-colored feathers, with clawed hands and feet."

"Their eyes, eyelashes, and eyebrows also turn orange-colored," Arin added. "And parts of their skin get covered with orange feathers."

Serak nodded his head. "Correct...."

Vaelric, still seething with rage, glanced at Serak. "That still doesn't prove anything."

"Then what do you suggest, Progenitor Vaelric?" Thalos asked.

Before Vaelric could say anything, Arin spoke.

"Believe me or not, I really don't care."

His indifferent expression was now present as he continued. "But I won't be the one lacking information and strategy when the Phoenixes finally start their attack."

Suddenly, Sylas raised his hand with a fearful expression as if asking for permission before he would speak.

Darius let out a sigh. "You don't have to raise your hand or ask for permission before you speak, Sylas."

Sylas nodded his head before speaking. "Uhm.... We've been talking about the Phoenixes attacking us, but how sure are we that they'll even attack?"

Vaelric frowned after hearing what Sylas said, but Arin scoffed as he decided to reply.

"Do you think the Phoenixes will just sit down and do nothing after a Vampire killed one of their own?"

"The fact that they haven't even sent someone here to discuss the issue is solid proof that they don't plan on talking things out," Arin added.

Arin smiled. "It's just like you said, King Thalos. The thread holding the peace together has been severed."

Thalos sighed as he massaged his temples. "So you're saying you have information about the Phoenixes that can help the Vampires?"

"Absolutely," Arin replied.

'Now, time to sweeten up my words a bit,' Arin thought.

"I'm also a Vampire, so of course, if I have something that can support us immensely, I'll bring it. And in this case, I have information," Arin said.

"Hmm, that's true," Darius murmured.

Serak squinted his eyes. "I think you have a point. A Vampire wouldn't want to see his or her people in trouble."

'Everything is falling into place bit by bit,' Arin thought.

But he wasn't done.

"I actually have a plan," he suddenly said, making all of them look at him.

"Let us hear it," Thalos said.

"Are there prisoners here?" Arin asked.

Darius squinted his eyes while Liora and Thalos furrowed their brows.

"Yes," Thalos replied. "But why do you ask?"

Arin folded his arms. "We do not know when the Phoenixes plan on attacking. So I suggest we take a Regular Vampire who is a prisoner and send him to the Realm of the Phoenixes as a messenger."

All of them listened as Arin continued talking.

"If he comes back with a message, that means there'll still be a way to avoid trouble, but..." Arin paused as his gaze swept past all of them. "If he doesn't return, we'll surely know that there is no other option."

"Hmm, sounds good," Thalos said.

Vaelric noticed that the other Progenitors were nodding their heads, showing that they were in support of Arin's plan.

'Aghh... I have nothing to say that can counter his plan,' Vaelric thought, frowning.

Serak looked at Thalos. "I believe there are some Regular Vampires in the prison who may have done unforgivable crimes."

Thalos nodded his head with a thoughtful expression. "If we're going to set this plan in motion, I have to let the prisoner we're choosing know that he must do exactly as he's told."

"Yes," Liora said. "If possible, promise him that if he obeys the order he's given and returns here, he'll be released."

"So in a sense, we should deceive him, huh?" Darius muttered.

'It's crazy how we just automatically tagged the prisoner who'll do it as a male,' Arin thought. 'Are there no female prisoners?'

Serak smirked. "And for sure, we all know that there's a very high possibility that he won't return."

There was silence in the throne room for a few seconds, before Thalos finally spoke.

"Is any of us against the plan?" he asked.

Nobody said anything, signifying that they were all in support of the plan.

Sylas glanced at Vaelric. 'He's been awfully quiet... I have a feeling that his silence isn't a good one.'

"Okay, then," Thalos said. "I'll personally select the prisoner that'll be used to carry out this plan."

"For now," he added as he looked at everyone present. "Let's discuss other matters."

He looked at Arin before asking, "You said something about knowing their strategy too, right?"

"Yes," Arin replied shortly.

"That is very crucial information to have," Vaelric suddenly said as he stared at Arin. "But I believe everyone here is really curious about how you know a lot of things about the Phoenixes, including their strategy."

Arin smirked. "The method I used was very... Unpleasant."

The other Progenitors and even the King began wondering what Arin meant by "unpleasant."

"You can choose what meaning you want to derive from that, or how you wish to interpret that," Arin said. "But I believe I have a right to privacy. Don't expect me to just start telling you all my way of doing things, especially considering the fact that I just got here and don't even know you all very well."

"I choose to give you all the information I have because I feel like it is the right thing to do," Arin added. "Not because I want to tell you all everything about me."

Silence...

Immediately Arin finished talking, there was a sudden silence, one that brought immense tension.

Though, if one looked closely, they would notice that Liora was smiling. 'Will he be able to do it...?'
