The next match began, and the tension in the room was thick enough to slice with a knife. Hugo adjusted his grip on the controller, his palms already sweating.

Across from him, Loli sat cross-legged, her eyes glinting with determination as she dug into another bag of chips.

The whistle blew, and the game was on. Hugo's team immediately took possession, and his forward sprinted down the flank like a man possessed.

Loli's defenders were relentless, closing in on him like a pack of wolves. With a quick flick of the joystick, Hugo executed a flawless double feint, leaving one of her players sprawled on the ground.

"Get wrecked!" he shouted, grinning.

But Loli wasn't about to let him have it easy. Her midfielder slid in with a perfectly timed tackle, stealing the ball and passing it forward in one fluid motion.

"Oh, no you don't!" Hugo growled, mashing the buttons. His defender sprinted to block her forward, but Loli performed a cheeky backheel pass to another player, completely throwing off Hugo's defense.

Her player charged into the box, and Hugo's goalie lunged to block the shot, but Loli chipped the ball over him. It hit the crossbar and bounced in.

"GOAL!"

"YES!" Loli cheered, punching the air. "4-3! I'm still the queen!"

Hugo groaned and slumped back on the couch. 'This girl is a demon,' he thought, wiping his forehead. 'How can someone be this good?'

But he wasn't giving up yet. Restarting the game, Hugo channeled every ounce of his gaming knowledge.

His team passed the ball around with pinpoint accuracy, drawing Loli's players out of position.

"Nice try, but I see what you're doing," Loli said, smirking.

Before she could intercept, Hugo's forward performed a slick give-and-go with his winger, breaking through her defensive line. He was one-on-one with the goalie.

The ball soared toward the top corner, but Loli's goalie pulled off a miraculous save, tipping it over the bar.

"NOOO!" Hugo yelled, gripping his hair in frustration.

"Close, but not close enough!" Loli teased, popping another chip into her mouth.

The match continued with both sides playing like their lives depended on it. Hugo's players made aggressive tackles, his midfielders threading passes through impossibly tight spaces.

Loli countered with a series of intricate dribbles and quick passes that left Hugo sweating.

Finally, in the 89th minute, Hugo's team earned a free kick just outside the penalty box.

His heart raced as he lined up the shot. The controller felt like an extension of his arm, every movement precise.

"You're not making this," Loli taunted, leaning back confidently.

"We'll see about that," Hugo shot back, narrowing his eyes. He took a deep breath and pressed the button.

The ball curled beautifully over the wall, dipping at the last second. Loli's goalie dove, but it was too late.

"GOOOOOAL!"

"YES! YES! YES!" Hugo screamed, jumping up and down like a madman. He dropped the controller and performed an exaggerated victory dance, pointing at Loli. "Bow before the gaming king!"

Loli scowled playfully, grabbing a biscuit and chucking it at his head. "You got lucky!"

"Luck?!" Hugo gasped, clutching his chest dramatically. "I worked for that win! Admit it, you're scared now."

Loli grabbed another biscuit, but Hugo dodged it, laughing.

"Fine," she said, smirking. "Now it's 2-2. The next match decides it all."

Hugo grinned, already plotting his next move. He quietly allocated 5 more mastery points to his gaming mastery slot, enduring the now-familiar surge of blinding pain.

He clenched his jaw and powered through it, taking deep breaths as the information settled into his mind.

"You okay?" Loli asked, noticing the strained look on his face.

"Never better," Hugo said with a cocky grin. He grabbed a pack of cookies and started munching to calm his nerves. "By the way, your loser face is priceless."

Loli's eye twitched. Without a word, she grabbed an entire bag of popcorn and hurled it at him.

The bag hit its mark, spilling popcorn everywhere, including all over Hugo's juice, which toppled onto his shirt.

"Aw, come on!" Hugo exclaimed, looking down at the mess.

"Well, that's what you get!" Loli said, sticking her tongue out.

Hugo stood up and peeled off his wet shirt, revealing a toned, athletic physique. Loli glanced at him, her face turning slightly red before she quickly looked away.

Hugo smirked. 'Caught you looking, didn't I?' he thought, amused. 'Yeah, I know I look good.'

"Stop flexing," Loli muttered, grabbing another bag of snacks.

"I wasn't flexing," Hugo said innocently, sitting back down. "But if you want a closer look—"

"Shut up and start the match!" Loli snapped, her cheeks still pink.

Hugo chuckled, picking up his controller. The final match began, and the tension in the room skyrocketed.

The first half was a battle of wills. Both teams missed multiple attempts, the ball flying just wide of the post or hitting the crossbar.

Hugo's players made aggressive tackles, earning a couple of yellow cards, while Loli's team unleashed a relentless offensive barrage.

The halftime whistle blew with the score still at 0-0. Both of them were sweating, their fingers moving frantically as they prepared for the second half.

Then, in the middle of a promising counterattack, Hugo's striker broke free, dribbling past two defenders. It was the perfect opportunity. He was clear on goal, the net wide open.

"NOOOO!" Loli screamed suddenly, standing up from the floor and plopping herself directly onto Hugo's lap.

His eyes bulged, his hands slipping off the controller. The ball veered off course, and the goalie easily picked it up.

"What the—?!" Hugo stammered, completely thrown off.

Loli grinned, leaning back slightly. "Oops. Did I distract you?"

Hugo's mind went blank. 'This girl is EVIL!' he thought, his heart pounding. 'How am I supposed to focus like this?!'
