Chapter 788: Chapter 782: Bitterness
For Marlon Murray, although Finn Lewis claimed that there wouldn’t be much used in the short term, ‘not much’ was still relative. For someone like Finn, even a little opportunity that slipped through his fingers could feed a family like Marlon’s for quite a while. And, Finn had intentionally left plenty of profit for them in the deal.
So, once Finn confirmed what the Marlin Paker’s Family traded in, he had some other ideas. Their trades included the raw material of Gene Optimization Fluid and living supplies—providing contracts for AI in architecture, enabling the building to be a smart construction controlled by AI.
Another offering was construction materials, such as temperature-controlled materials lasting the whole 365 days a year, and some fully automated home-cleaning robots, which were all living supplies. On earth, however, these things were barely exploited. Thus, even though the market for a planet wasn’t too big, it was enough for a minor aristocratic family.
Moreover, Finn had left them enough profit, but there was a catch—their people could conduct businesses directly on Earth, under the provisional supervision of Finn’s company and the official authorities. For the short term, they better not reveal too much to the authorities.
As a part of the Rochefort Clan, the Aitken Family was merely a five-star family in the nine-star aristocratic system—neither too big nor small. There were plenty of aristocratic families like them. After Mike Alamu passed the contract to them, the whole Aitken Family was practically cheering.
The profit was significant and absolutely attainable. It not only dealt with the junk they had produced—clearing their rubbish and warehouse, but it was also sold at such a high price.
Having made such a deal, Mike Alamu was quite pleased. But he had no idea that someone scoffed at his joy from behind and muttered, ‘Idiot.’
“Your Highness, why do you say that?” The person who called Mike an idiot wasn’t Finn, or Marlon. Neither of them knew about it. It was a young man in his twenties with an ordinary face but a much stronger build than his peers.
You could tell from his physique that he had undergone long-term training; otherwise, he wouldn’t be in such good shape. A beautiful woman at his side asked the young man.
“Nothing, I just felt like calling him that,” the young man replied simply, shaking his head.
“Your Highness, are you talking about the nine-star Royal Family?” The woman looked hesitant before she asked this probing question.
“Certainly not,” the youth answered plainly.
“If you are not scolding that Majesty, then are you blaming Mike?” The woman asked incredulously after a moment of shock.
“Of course.” The youth nodded resolutely without hesitation.
“Eh? Why? In everyone’s eyes, isn’t His Majesty the fool? Certainly, he must have disappointed you?” The woman asked in doubt, a tinge of regret in her voice.
“Hehe, Nina Rhodes, you are wrong.” The young man shook his head slightly and spoke plainly.
“What do you mean?” The woman looked a bit confused.
“It’s simple. I’m not disappointed at all. I know what you wanted to claim. Although you have left the Locke Family, you still know about the conditions of our Wren Clan. We may be Royals, yet for all these years, we have never aligned ourselves with any eight-star royal family, insisting on independent development. That’s because we have only one source of support,” the young man spoke indifferently.
“Nine-star royal family,” Nina Rhodes uttered the four words.
“Correct. This is the ancestral instruction that has been passed down in our family. So, I apologize, but I can’t change it even if I want to. Even if our clan’s patriarch wants to change, he can’t.” The young man shook his head slightly.
“It seems a bit incredible that, in a society like the federation where personal feelings are completely disregarded, there still exists a family that stays loyal to its ancestral teachings. I thought nothing could weigh more than benefits and the so-called longevity,” Nina chuckled lightly. There was trace of sarcasm on her calm face.
The young man touched his nose in embarrassment. However, he soon interrupted Nina’s daydreaming and said directly, “I know what you mean, but I can boldly tell you that everyone might think that the only successor of the nine-star royal family is a fool. But I can tell you who the real fool is still up in the air.”
“Why do you say that?” Nina looked at the young man, tilting her head in confusion.
“It’s simple. Let me tell you a secret. He has over 100 first-class warships in his hand. Do you think he would consider the junk in the Aitken Family useful?” The corner of the young man’s mouth raised slightly, and he spoke in a peculiar tone with laughter.
“What?!” The woman froze, her face expressing disbelief. “Are you saying that His Majesty has a whole 100 first-class warships? Your Highness, where did you get this information?”
“Because we sold them to him,” the young man said nonchalantly.
“Uh.” Nina choked, her face still full of shock. But she didn’t know how to continue. The young man wouldn’t lie to her, which meant that His Majesty held a force in his hands that was no less than an entire fleet of the Supervision Bureau. If that was the case, then why was His Majesty doing what he was doing?
“Just watch. I think that the unfortunate Mike will be in for some bad luck. Oh, no, perhaps Suleiman Cooper will be the unfortunate one. Ha, does he truly think he can control the other party? No doubt, the other party descended from a primitive planet. And if my understanding is correct, the life expectancy on that primitive planet is less than 100 years. However, within less than a third of that lifespan, can people like him compare with his knowledge and vision?”
A hint of mockery hung on the corners of the young man’s mouth. Nina didn’t understand why, but she knew that out of all the people in the academy, excluding the new Highness, the young man before her was the most likely person to inherit his family in the shortest time. Because he was the direct descendant of the third generation of the Wren Family, and the only one in the third generation at that!
