Chapter 276- Test
Chapter 276- Test
It has been a week. The forces have been gathering up in Eldoria under Eleanor's command.
Eldoria would be the stronghold of the Light.
The groups have been divided—soldiers have been receiving special training under their respective commanders.
Eleanor's knowledge of the future, the weakness of Aembr-users, and her alchemy skills have provided a huge advantage to the soldiers.
They weren't against humans this time, which required proper planning and formation. They were against mindless creatures—a huge lot of them.
The eleven races have also given their agreement to help out the side of Light.
All those tribes who agreed to help have already arrived in Eldoria. Their addition has been quite helpful to the recovery team as many of them are healers and are knowledgeable about potions.
Not to talk about their veteran warriors who can easily be ranked above S from the human parameter.
Eleanor has divided divisions and selected seven Generals from her army who would be participating in the war from different sides, and would have different roles.
Among the seven Generals, there was Junisha as well—the former member of the Scarlette clan.
Because of her involvement with the Apostles, the Scarlette clan has accepted her back into the family.
And the one who has been discarded was Bellarine now.
In the meantime, Ethan has done nothing but training. The new powers he acquired....or, more like, the old powers he regained, were quite vast and untamed.
Ethan had a hard time controlling this power, so he doesn't end up hurting the people he would be fighting for.
And by now, he has already gained the strength to easily defeat a monster like that Headless, which attacked his town all those years ago and took away his mother from him.
Ruby has been preparing with all her efforts as well since Ruby was the vice-commander of her battalion and naturally has a vital role to play.
Now comes Rose—the ace of her army. Eleanor has been paying close attention to the girl who would be playing a very crucial role during this battle. Experience new stories on My Virtual Library Empire
That's why, after so many days of rigorous training, the violet-haired has come to see Rose's skills.
Sitting inside the small gymnasium, Eleanor and a few apostles, along with Ruby and Junisha, watched Rose go against more than twelve high-ranking Ambrobates.
Unlike in the past, Rose didn't give an immature vibe who can cry at the slightest of pain.
With her shoulder-length hair tied in a bun, and wearing a body-fit battle suit, she faced all the chained beasts without a speck of nervousness on her face.
"If she fails, you are responsible." Jessica teased the crimson-haired lady beside her, who had been in charge of training Rose for the past week.
Junisha rolled her eyes, "If Rose gets defeated by those mutts, I will stop being a commander altogether."
That was quite the statement that took Ruby by surprise.
Because of her increased workload, she hasn't been able to meet Rose recently, that's why she doesn't know her recent development.
The last battle Rose faced was against an apostle. And at that, Rose lost the battle. However, the person currently in the ring seemed quite different and confident.
"Okay, send them," Eleanor commanded as the chains were pulled away.
The twelve Ambrobates lunged at once, their twisted forms a blur of fangs, claws, and madness. Their chains rattled, barely holding back their frenzied hunger. Rose stood in the center, unmoving, her eyes cold and calculating.
Then, she moved.
With a snap of her fingers, the floor beneath her erupted in jagged ice spikes, impaling three beasts before they could react. Their wails barely had time to echo before she twisted her wrist, shattering their frozen bodies into crimson mist.
The rest charged, but Rose was already ahead.
"Graviton Cage."
A dozen black orbs formed around her, collapsing space itself in an instant. The creatures closest to her were crushed into nothing, bones snapping like twigs. The survivors backed away instinctively, but hesitation had no place in battle.
Rose pointed a single finger forward.
"Flame Shredder."
A line of fire shot out like a whip, but it wasn't just fire—it was hunger, it was ruin. The flames latched onto two Ambrobates, coiling around them, tearing through their bodies in spirals. Their shrieks were cut short as they collapsed in a heap of scorched flesh.
Five left.
One leaped at her, faster than the rest. It got close—too close—but Rose didn't move.
"Echo Sever."
A transparent wave pulsed from her body, an invisible blade slicing through the air. The beast fell mid-leap, split in two before it even knew what happened.
Three beasts attempted to overwhelm her together. Rose tilted her head, unimpressed.
"Collapse."
A pulse of energy crushed their bodies inward. They didn't even get the dignity of a scream.
The last Ambrobate hesitated. It was instinct. A beast like that shouldn't feel fear, but there it was, backing away, growling low. Rose stepped forward.
"Ah… don't tell me you finally understand?"
She lifted her hand.
"Erase."
The beast turned to dust, wiped from existence.
Silence fell in the gymnasium. The only sound was the settling of blood and ash.
Rose exhaled, shaking off the gore from her suit. Then, she turned to Eleanor and the others, her face blank.
Eleanor had a surprised expression as she looked at the scene before her.
And it wasn't just her; everyone who hadn't seen Rose for the past seven days couldn't believe that it was the same girl who had been brutally defeated by the apostle seven days ago.
"Spell creation...what a cheat ability...." Jessica muttered. The potential this single entity possesses might be greater than the great Emissary of Light.
Eleanor crossed her hand and told everyone, "I know a role perfect for her."
Every eye turned towards Eleanor as she stood up and announced, "Rose, you have been granted the role of Royal Guard. I am leaving Ethan's safety in your hands."
Rose's eyes widened....wasn't she just giving this test to grant another portion of dinner? Did Lady Junisha lie to her?!
