After a moment of thought, he said, "It would take around one day to travel to Luocheng City by car under good road conditions, but with the darkness and the current state of the roads, it will take at least a few days."

The others exchanged glances but remained silent as Wu Yehao stared at the map, lost in thought.

After a while, he said, "Prepare to move. We will stop by the nearest checkpoint to restock supplies and ammunition before heading to Luocheng City."

"Yes, Captain," they responded.

Following his order, the team began packing their equipment and loading the baggage into the armored vehicles.

One of his subordinates approached him and asked, "Captain, what about the Eldest Young Lady? We only left two men to protect her, and we haven't secured her agreement to return to Yucheng Headquarters with us."

Wu Yehao frowned slightly at his words before replying, "Don't worry about her. I will call Yuechuan and have him take over this mission."

The subordinate nodded and returned to assist his teammates. Meanwhile, Wu Yehao stepped out of the tent and dialed Yao Yuechuan's number on his watch.

After a brief wait, Yao Yuechuan's voice came through. "Yehao, it is rare for you to call me."

"What were you doing? It took you nearly a minute to answer," Wu Yehao said.

Yao Yuechuan snorted at his words and asked, "Do you think I have nothing to do? I'm extremely busy over here, okay."

Ignoring his displeased tone, Wu Yehao explained, "I have located one of The Ark's secret laboratories in Luocheng City. I'm heading there now. Can you go to Juncheng Military Base and take over my mission?"

The urgency in Yao Yuechuan's voice was unmistakable as he replied, "Don't you dare go there without proper preparation! You are only taking a small team and didn't even have enough ammunition. You will be walking into a death trap if you go to Luocheng City now!" Sensing Yao Yuechuan's concern in his voice, Wu Yehao remained silent for a moment before speaking.

"Yuechuan, I have to go there before they destroy the data. It's been over half a month since I stole those files from Du Zhaoyi. By now, they likely know we have uncovered the secret laboratory's location."

"Which is exactly why you can't go unprepared! Don't you think it is weird that Gao Shuwei didn't take any action after you stole the information? With his character, he should have ordered the black wolves to hunt you down by now." Yao Yuechuan retorted.

After saying that, he quickly began typing on his laptop and then sent a file to Wu Yehao's watch. "Read this before you make any decisions."

A notification appeared on Wu Yehao's watch a few seconds later. He opened the document and read it carefully. As he finished, his expression darkened.

"So it's a trap to lure me there." He muttered, "Why did he want me to find this secret laboratory? What is his goal?"

"Who knows what is on his mind?" Yao Yuechuan said through gritted teeth. "That bastard is very cunning. If I hadn't been investigating my younger sister's boyfriend, I wouldn't have uncovered that Gao Shuwei deliberately planted all the intel you have found so far."

Taking a deep breath to calm down, he added, "It is a good thing you contacted me first. Otherwise, you might have vanished from this world without traces like the others."

After a pause, he said, "Yehao, I know you are desperate to find your younger brother, but you can't underestimate Gao Shuwei. Even my grandfather was wary of him when he was still a young child."

There was a long silence before Wu Yehao spoke again. "I still need to go to Luocheng City." Yao Yuechuan slammed his desk in frustration when he heard that. "Are you insane? You know it's a trap, and you're still going? Do you have a death wish?!"

Wu Yehao waited until Yao Yuechuan calmed down before saying, "Yuechuan, I don't want to die. But this is an opportunity to uncover Gao Shuwei's true motives."

"Why did he establish The Ark? Why is he so obsessed with the Eldest Young Lady? If we want to defeat Gao Shuwei and destroy The Ark, we need to find answers to these questions." Looking up at the dark sky, he added, "Since he set this trap specifically for me, it would be rude not to go."

Yao Yuechuan sighed deeply in frustration and asked, "So you plan to beat him at his own game?"

"Yes," Wu Yehao said firmly. "If I don't go, he will realize we have uncovered his plan. By going, I might be able to find something important that he hid from us all these years."

Yao Yuechuan knew he couldn't dissuade him. Resigned, he said, "Fine. Yuchi just sent me some new investigation results from Fengcheng City. I will forward them to you."

The corner of Wu Yehao's lips curved upward slightly as he said, "Thanks."

"Don't thank me yet," Yao Yuechuan muttered, rolling his eyes. Then, with a mischievous tone, he added, "But you better come back alive. If you don't, I'm eating all your hidden chocolate!"

Before Wu Yehao could respond, Yao Yuechuan ended the call. Glancing at the notifications on his watch, Wu Yehao gazed into the endless darkness and murmured, "I'm lucky to have brothers like you guys."

"Captain, we are ready to go," someone called out from behind.

Wu Yehao nodded and climbed into one of the armored vehicles. As they drove toward the checkpoint to resupply, he read through the files Yao Yuechuan had sent. Wu Yehao's

expression grew darker with every report he read.

"Crazy bastard," clenching his hands, he muttered as he read the last report.

Noticing his gloomy mood, the others in the armored vehicle exchanged uneasy glances but

wisely said nothing.

Meanwhile, far away in Fengcheng City, Gao Shuwei's satellite phone rang.

"Speak," he answered curtly.
