Long Yu frowned and added, "Judging from what Li Tianyu told me just now, in addition to them, there should be a large number of soldiers leaving today. After this matter becomes known to the public, I am afraid that the chaotic situation will become more serious."
Yao Ran's expression turned serious at his words. She fell into silence for a few seconds and asked, "If this news spreads, won't those gang members cause trouble again?"
Long Yu said, "Yes. For now, the First and Second Armies are maintaining order. But with so many soldiers retiring at once, the gangs won't pass up this golden opportunity."
"When does Captain Li need the supplies?" Yao Ran asked after a moment of thought.
"They will be leaving in an hour before the news spreads," Long Yu replied. "Li Tianyu said they are waiting at the Second Army's barracks and will leave immediately after receiving the supplies."
Yao Ran nodded. "Understood. I will start preparing the supplies right away. You should call Brother Yuan and have him bring all the space-ability users."
"Got it," Long Yu said.
After agreeing on their plan, Yao Ran and Long Yu went to wash up. While Yao Ran prepared the supplies in the sitting room, Long Yu called Yuan Rihui.
By the time Yuan Rihui arrived with seven space-ability users, the sitting room was already packed with supplies.
Stunned by the sight, Yuan Rihui quickly composed himself as Yao Ran explained to him, "Brother Yuan, please deliver these supplies to Captain Li. He is waiting at the Second Army's barracks parking lot."
"Understood." Yuan Rihui nodded, then turned to the space-ability users and said, "Start loading the supplies. Remember to organize them the way I taught you before."
"Yes, Brother Yuan." They responded, quickly getting to work.
Impressed by their efficiency, Yao Ran commented, "Brother Yuan, letting you take over the transporting task was definitely the right decision."
Yuan Rihui grinned at her praise and said, "Thank you for your trust."
Once the supplies were packed, Yuan Rihui said, "Miss Yao, we will deliver the goods now."
"Alright. Take care on your way." Yao Ran replied.
With five combat-ability users escorting them, Yuan Rihui and the seven space-ability users set out for the Second Army's barracks.
On their way to the Second Army's barracks, Yuan Rihui and his team encountered several groups of robbers. Fortunately, he had anticipated being targeted after leaving the villa and had brought along their strongest fighters as bodyguards.
Looking at the people surrounding them with various weapons, Yuan Rihui pulled out his dagger and said, "Get out of our way, or we won't be polite."
One of the robbers illuminated Yuan Rihui's face with a torch and said, "I know you. You are the famous black market dealer, Yuan Rihui, aren't you?"
Yuan Rihui snorted and asked, "Since you know who I am, you still dare to rob me?"
The man laughed and replied, "It's precisely because I know who you are that I want to rob you. With your famous reputation, you should have a lot of supplies, right? Robbing you is like robbing a bank! Ha ha ha!"
After laughing for a while, he glanced at the seven space ability users, who were protected in the middle of the formation, and added, "Those people must be your space ability users, right?"
The expressions of the space ability users shifted slightly at his question.
The man laughed again when he noticed the change in their expression as he licked his chapped lips.
"I bet they've got a lot of supplies in their spaces," he said, and then motioning to his group. "Brothers, leave the space ability users for now—kill the others!"
The robbers roared in excitement at his order. "Yes, Boss!"
As the robbers lunged forward, the five combat-ability users launched their attacks.
Yuan Rihui activated his speed ability and charged directly at the boss. In seconds, the area was lit up by countless flying abilities and crackling energy.
Most of the robbers were malnourished and possessed only entry-level abilities. Compared to Yuan Rihui and his team, who had consumed lake water and had two meals a day, the robbers were no match—like children trying to fight adults.
In just a few minutes, the robbers were completely defeated.
Seeing Yuan Rihui approach with his dagger, the boss knew he wouldn't survive. Gritting his teeth, he pulled something out from his pocket and threw it at Yuan Rihui.
One of the combat-ability users noticed his action and shouted urgently, "Brother Yuan, watch out!"
Before Yuan Rihui could react, the object hit the ground and exploded.
Bang!
A bright flash and deafening sound overwhelmed the area, temporarily blinding everyone.
Yuan Rihui stumbled and fell to the ground, his vision blurring and his head becoming dizzy. Shaking his head to regain focus, he blinked a few times until his sight cleared.
Seeing that the area was now covered in thick smoke, he waved his hand to disperse it.
"Brother Yuan, are you alright?"
Hearing one of the combat-ability users, Yuan Rihui stood up and replied, "I'm fine. What about everyone else?"
"We are fine," the man responded.
When the smoke cleared, they saw that the robbers had fled, leaving a few corpses behind.
Yuan Rihui's expression darkened at the sight of a tattoo on one of the corpses. He sneered and said, "It seems some gangs are targeting us."
After he said that, a space ability user hesitated for a few seconds before asking, "Brother Yuan, what should we do now?"
Yuan Rihui picked up his dagger and replied calmly, "We must deliver the supplies. Let's go. There's no time to waste."
The others nodded. "Yes, Brother Yuan."
With the battle fresh in their minds, the group became more vigilant. They opted for well-lit streets and took detours to avoid further ambushes. Although it took longer, they eventually reached the Second Army's barracks safely.
Since Xu Qipeng's announcement that morning, the Second Army's barracks had been bustling with activity.
