"That is a good idea," Long Yu said after listening to Yao Ran's explanation.

"I just hope nothing happens before the wall is completed," Yao Ran replied.

While the villa's occupants were busy fortifying their homes, other survivors were searching for supplies.

Eight days later, when the workers finished the walls and began installing the power grids, someone unexpectedly visited Yao Ran.

"Is the owner of this villa at home?" A woman asked one of the workers.

During the project, the worker enjoyed two meals a day and had grown fond of Yao Ran.

Seeing the woman in expensive clothes, he asked cautiously, "May I ask who you are?" The woman frowned slightly at his dirty hands and took a few steps back before replying, "I'm the owner of the villa next door. I'm here to speak with the owner of this villa."

Noticing her disdainful expression, the worker felt annoyed but held back his anger. He replied politely, "Miss Yao is at home. Please wait here while I inform her."

"There is no need," the woman interrupted. "I will find her myself."

Before the worker could stop her, the woman walked into the villa. Afraid that his boss would blame him, the worker quickly went to find Shi Xuan in the backyard. When he arrived, he saw that Yao Ran was also there.

Approaching them, the worker said, "Miss Yao, a woman just arrived looking for you. I tried to stop her, but she ignored me and went inside."

Yao Ran frowned at his words and asked, "Do you know who she is?"

"She said she is the owner of the next-door villa," the worker replied.

Before Yao Ran could respond, they heard a woman's voice from inside the villa.

"Are you the owner of this villa?" the woman called out.

A second later, Long Yu's cold voice sounded, "Who are you? Get out now."

Hearing his cold tone, Yao Ran and Shi Xuan exchanged glances. It seemed the woman had bumped into Long Yu.

Turning to the worker, Yao Ran said, "Thank you for letting me know. You can go back to work."

"Alright." The worker nodded and left.

Once he was gone, Yao Ran and Shi Xuan headed inside. As they entered the sitting room, they saw the woman staring at Long Yu with interest. Unhappy with the way she looked at her fiancé, Yao Ran frowned and walked up to them.

When Long Yu heard her footsteps, he turned around and smiled. "Ran Ran, do you want to eat together?"

Standing beside him, Yao Ran asked, "Do you know this woman?"

Long Yu shook his head, "No. When I came down to find you, I saw her wandering around our home, so I asked her to leave."

After hearing his response, Yao Ran turned to the woman and said, "Aunty, you should leave before I kick you out."

The woman's expression darkened upon hearing Yao Ran call her "aunty." She snapped and asked angrily, "How dare you call me aunty?! Do you know who I am?"

Yao Ran coldly replied, "I don't care who you are. If you don't leave my home now, I will kick you out."

Seeing that Yao Ran was serious, the woman hesitated before hurriedly saying, "Wait! I came here to talk business with you."

Yao Ran raised her eyebrows slightly and asked, "What business?"

The woman glanced at Long Yu and Shi Xuan for a second and then asked Yao Ran, "Won't you invite me to sit first?"

Yao Ran chuckled and shrugged. "I don't have the habit of inviting intruders to sit with me." The woman's face twisted with displeasure at her words. However, remembering her father's instructions, she gritted her teeth and said, "Fine! Who wants to sit on your dirty couch anyway?"

Yao Ran gestured for her to continue. The woman snorted and explained, "My father saw you raising the height of your wall and wants to buy some materials from you. He wants to invite you to our villa to discuss this matter."

Hearing that, Yao Ran immediately replied, "I won't go."

"You bi-!" The woman's curse stuck in her throat when she noticed Long Yu's icy stare.

She took a deep breath, attempting to compose herself. A few seconds later, she forced a smile and said, "We only need a small amount to add one meter to our wall. If you agree to sell us the materials, my father is willing to give you whatever you want."

Intrigued, Yao Ran asked, "Can he really give me whatever I want?"

The woman hesitated before responding, "As long as it's within our capability, we will provide it to you."

Noticing the lack of confidence in her voice, Yao Ran concluded that the woman's family must have been wealthy before the end of the world but had likely exhausted their resources by

now.

With this in mind, Yao Ran shook her head and refused her invitation. "No need. Your father won't be able to give me what I want. You should leave now."

The woman tried to argue, but Shi Xuan smiled and said, "Young Lady, please."

"No, I—!" The woman stopped mid-sentence when she met Shi Xuan's dangerous gaze. Stomping her feet in frustration, she snorted, "Hmph! Remember your words! Don't come begging me later!"

With that, she stormed out of the villa.

After she left, Long Yu turned to Yao Ran and asked, "Ran Ran, what do you want from that woman's father?"

Yao Ran replied, "Initially, I thought they could provide information on the progress of the experiments being conducted at this base."

"But after seeing her lack of confidence, I realized her family is likely struggling to stay in this villa area. They probably used up all their wealth and connections just to buy a villa here."

Shi Xuan chuckled and commented, "It's ironic that she knows her family's situation but still acts so arrogant."

Yao Ran shrugged, "Forget about her. Let's eat first. I'm starving."
