Chapter 724: Truce?
"My apologies. I wanted to make some other weapons, but they broke when I used the cores," Lotto said. "Only the staves were able to withstand the power of the cores."
"Don’t be sorry, it makes sense, considering that you just made relics that are better than my spear," Rain said. "You should feel proud… but the design made of bones is a bit troublesome… I want to give this one to Terra and the other to Seara since I can’t keep changing weapons in the middle of the battle like this."
Sea Dragon Scale Staff acted as a conduit for the immense powers of water magic. It resonates deeply with the elemental essence of water, enhancing the wielder’s proficiency and mastery over water-based spells.
Wielders attuned to this staff would experience a significant amplification in their water magic skills, allowing them to cast spells of greater magnitude, control aquatic elements more deftly, and possibly learn new and advanced water-based spells faster.
Leviathan Dragon Bone Staff possessed a unique connection to health and healing. The singular transparent core, derived from the essence of the leviathan dragon, resonates with healing properties and vitality. When wielded by a healer or magic practitioner, this staff enhances the user’s health regeneration capabilities and augments their proficiency in healing magic as well.
"I suppose it makes sense," Lotto said. "Some of the cores were sent by the sea emperor, so perhaps this was bound to happen. Regardless, I will keep improving my skills to be able to make a weapon that suits you when I have a core that you would agree with your skills."
Rain nodded and then left the port town with the staves… it was weird to do that since he didn’t have to pay for anything, but that was the merits of working for the kingdom.
"I guess this is how famous athletes felt when they were sponsored by famous brands on Earth…" Rain thought. "If anything, it should be a close enough comparison."
Speaking of relics, Rain wondered if he should thinking of making a few things to his kids or asking Lotto to make for them… nothing made out of dragons, though. It was too barbaric for kids… maybe Rain should truly try to improve his crafting skills… he was only using them in his spare time, after all.

"I got these skills in the last battle as well, but I still need thirty more levels to unlock the Adept Crafter path… when I do that, I should have some good ideas for relics for my kids," Rain thought.
Arrived home thinking that his wives would be glad for the gifts that he didn’t pay for. Rain arrived with a smile on his face since the situation was more funny than he thought… Terra was going to complain a lot since her staff would maker look like a necromancer, but Rain could change the design by using his earth magic.
Regardless, when Rain arrived in the living room, he found his wives, Branden and Esmeralda, there as well, and they had a piece of paper with them, and considering their somber expressions, it seemed that some bad news arrived.
"Now you understand how I felt a while ago when I only arrived with bad news," Rain said.
"Hahahaaaaaaaaaa… I guess so," Branden said and then sighed.
"Uwa…" Rain said when he saw Esmeralda’s big tummy. "Woman, can’t you stay in your castle and wait patiently for the delivery?"
"I need to do some exercise… is he always like that?" Esmeralda asked.
"He almost made both of us go mad thanks to his endless worries," Terra said. "It seems that you brought some interesting things, but we can talk about it later."
"The atmosphere doesn’t seem that urgent, but what exactly happened?" Rain asked.
"We received a letter from the magic people, and the letter was also signed by the beast queen," Sears replied. "They aren’t even trying to hide anymore that they are working with the same suspicious person."
Rain received a letter from Branden that carried a surprising proposal from the magic and beast people. The letter outlined their proposition for a truce lasting three years, during which they agreed not to engage in direct hostilities against each other.
The terms of the truce were clear: both sides would refrain from initiating attacks or conflicts between their respective factions until the threat posed by the dragons was adequately addressed.
What struck Rain as audacious was the fact that these factions, who had previously initiated hostilities and provoked conflict, were now seeking a temporary cessation of fighting. It seemed hypocritical to him that those who had instigated the war were now proposing a truce.
Despite his skepticism about their motives, Rain understood the necessity of consolidating forces against the common threat posed by the dragons, which was likely the reason for their sudden change in stance.
The proposal left Rain contemplating the motives behind this unexpected request and weighing the potential benefits and risks of agreeing to the truce. While acknowledging the irony of their request, Rain recognized the importance of setting aside differences temporarily to tackle the imminent danger posed by the dragons.
"What do you two think of this?" Rain asked. "It says here that I have to sign a magic contract that won’t let me organize any attacks on them. The beast queen will do the same, and so will all the members of the current magic council. This smells like bullshit through and through."
