Chapter 640 Bad news
Chapter 640 Bad news
"Even if that is true, that would be the case because you rescued me before, so you don't have to feel that way," Seadrei said. "Unless their strength proves themselves to be too high, I won't ask for help. Besides, your enemies could use the chance to attack your territory, so raise your guard."
Seadrei looked determined in his decision, and he didn't seem like he would sacrifice his kingdom to save his pride, so Rain decided to accept his words as he said them. Besides, he wondered what he could do against an army of sea dragons… the raging phoenix wouldn't be of any use underwater, and his friends didn't have any experience there as well…
Rain made the decision to leave the castle, allowing Seadrei to focus on preparing for the upcoming battle. The presence of his generals would be required, and Rain believed that his role in the matter was better suited elsewhere. As he made his way towards the exit, Rain's thoughts couldn't help but wander to what Seara's reaction might be to this situation.
There was a hint of concern in the back of his mind, knowing that she might not take it well.
While he understood the gravity of the situation and the need for him to be with his troops, he couldn't help but wonder what he should do to make them fight underwater… it was hard to imagine them fighting dragons even on land, after all.
Before Rain could find a solution to that problem, he had to deal with another… as usual, the first person he met was Seara when he returned home and she was letting Sealyn float on the water to make her relax.
"Welcome back, how was Dad?" Seara asked.
Rain sighed in response to the question, acknowledging that he had certain secrets of his own. However, when it came to matters involving other people who were important to his wives, he couldn't keep those secrets from them. His strong sense of transparency and honesty compelled him to share the information, even if it meant revealing things that might be better left unsaid.
Rain understood that trust and open communication were crucial in any relationship, and he wanted to maintain that trust with his wives.
"He is fine, but it seems that the sea dragons are making a big move and they are taking over the areas beyond the sea folk territory," Rain said.
"... I see. Thank you for not hiding that from me," Seara said after blinking a few times thanks to the surprise. "Are you going to help?"
"I told your father that he can call for me since this situation might be just a continuation of what happened before, but he said that he won't unless things get real nasty," Rain said. "If that were to happen, I will have to teach him Greedy Vow as well."
"That seems how things would usually play out…" Seara said and then put Sealyn in her arms. "Do you think that Seal would be useful to him?"
"His spear basically does that for him, so I am not sure," Rain crossed his arms to think for a second. "What truly would benefit him would be…"
"Dad always has been pretty prideful," Seara said.
"That would be the abilities of the ice dragons… they basically are just able to control more mana to make their attacks better with ice," Rain said.
"Isa said that they can do that because their talent is higher than the others and thus they become prideful of their potential… that technique is something that will be hard to learn since it was a passive one that is also something they are born with… Transcendental Intelligence."
In the Paths system, Transcendental Intelligence was a unique skill that some dragons are born with, although they may not immediately recognize it. This skill has a remarkable impact on a dragon's magical potential by significantly increasing their intelligence.
As a result, dragons with Transcendental Intelligence possess a heightened capacity for magic and a deeper understanding of complex magical concepts, making them exceptionally powerful magic users. This innate skill sets them apart and gives them a distinct advantage in mastering and wielding magic.
Still, that was what Isa said, Rain didn't believe that it was one hundred percent true… he didn't believe that she lied, though.
"There isn't much that the raging Phoenix can do against sea dragons, maybe fifty of them can fight a single earth dragon," Seara said. "There isn't much that we can do to make them train and become effective underwater, is it?"
"No… but I think that you are underestimating them," Rain said. "They can use Limit Breaker, Magic Boost and Impulse, so perhaps twenty of them could kill a single two hundred years old dragon. I have an idea that can help them fight underwater, but it will take a while for them to get used to it, and they won't be as half as effective as they would be on land."
"As expected… this is a problem that the sea folk has to deal with," Seara said.
While they left the tunnel, Rain wondered if the demi humans could help them… they should have plenty of demi humans with the sea blood and they should be pretty strong too. Not to mention, they would benefit if the number of sea dragons decreased.
Still, Rain didn't know enough about their political landscape to tell what was happening there and if it was possible for them to help… not like Seadrei would ask for help from some people he never saw.

Although Seadrei told Rain not to worry about that, he couldn't help but keep thinking about it even when he was having a nice meal with his family… Seadrei was his father in law and Seadir was a good friend as well… he couldn't just wait for something to happen. Still, before Rain could think of anything… he soon received some troublesome reports the next morning.
