I Can Extract Game Items

Chapter 167 Sir Dumblore's Disappearance

Chapter 167 Sir Dumblore's Disappearance

"Everwyn, huh?" August muttered.

Everwyn was apparently a kingdom that didn't allow entry to anyone, players included unless they had a certain pass. It was shrouded in mystery.

The fact that they were hosting meant the competition would be something to watch out for.

Boris suddenly dropped a message in the party chat.

Boris: "Everwyn! That's across the Eastern Plains. We'll need to prepare, stock up, and train more."

Ezran: "Guess we better get grinding, huh?"

Aleman: "I'll meet you all soon. Let's get ready."

They decided to meet up here in the Golden Flask Tavern within the next thirty minutes so all August had to do right now was wait.

August remained seated at a corner table with his hood drawn just enough to partially conceal his face as he sifted through his inventory screen.

The familiar transparent blue menu hovered in front of him, listing his items neatly. Weapons, potions, crafting materials, and then—his eyes froze on something unusual.

[ Inventory: Empty Soda Can (Non-Game Item) ]

August blinked. 'No way... it's actually here?'

He thought back to when he'd tried testing if real-world items could be stored within his game inventory. He had almost forgotten about it and since it worked he hadn't tried to check if it would be displayed in his inventory within the game as well but there it was—clear as day.

With a tap of his finger against the air, he selected the can and clicked [ Retrieve ].

[ YES / NO ]

His facial expression was one of intrigue as he selected [ YES ], half-expecting an error or some message stating it wasn't compatible with the game world.

Instead, a soft glow shimmered above his open palm, and a small silver soda can materialized out of thin air, landing with a soft clink on the wooden table.

August's mouth went slightly ajar as he stared at it.

"No freaking way..." he whispered under his breath.

The can felt solid in his grip, cool against his fingers. He turned it over, running a thumb across the faded brand logo, exactly how it had been when he picked it up in reality. It wasn't just an illusion—it was real.

This confirmed it... He could bring real-world items into the game as well.

August was geeking out of his mind right now thinking about the multiple ways this could be beneficial to him.

However, before he could contemplate any further, a sharp ding echoed in his ears, and a new system notification appeared before him.

System Notification:

[ The Silver Sentinel Summons You ]

You are summoned by the Silver Sentinel. Refusing will forfeit potential opportunities.

---

August leaned back into his chair with a look of surprise.

'Silver Sentinel...?' The name stirred vivid memories of the battle against Malrik, the formidable level 85 dark sorcerer who had been a city-level boss.

The Sentinel had arrived at the perfect moment, clad in silver armor, riding atop a fearsome dragon, and turned the tide of battle. Without his intervention, they might not have survived.

'If the Silver Sentinel is summoning me, it means something might have happened or maybe it's related to the battle?'

August wondered if he was the only one who got this.

[ Quest Accepted: The Sentinel's Call ]

August barely had time to react after accepting the quest as the world around him warped in a cascade of azure light.

The tavern, the lively chatter, the distant sound of Tagharium's streets—all of it disappeared in an instant. A rushing wind roared in his ears, and when the light faded, he found himself standing in the middle of an enormous hall.

The air here was vibrated with power.

Massive stone pillars with ancient carved runes lined the room. At the far end of the grand chamber sat the Silver Sentinel, clad in full silver armor that gleamed under the golden glow of floating chandeliers.

His helm obscured his face, but the sheer presence he exuded was suffocating. In his grasp rested a towering silver lance, etched with inscriptions that radiated ancient power.

Behind him, sprawled across the back of the throne-like seat, lay his dragon—a monstrous beast with gleaming obsidian scales and piercing silver eyes.

Its massive head rested close to the floor and its nostrils flared as it lazily exhaled, sending out a low, rumbling growl that vibrated through the entire hall. The dragon's head alone nearly touched the ceiling, which soared over forty feet high.

August swallowed as his gaze flicked between the dragon and the armored figure.

"Welcome, Aleman," the Silver Sentinel's voice boomed, echoing through the vast chamber.

His tone was regal, yet tinged with something heavier—expectation. "We meet again."

August took a careful step forward, offering a respectful nod. "Yeah, I remember you. We wouldn't have won the battle against Malrik without your help."

The Sentinel let out a low chuckle, tapping his lance against the floor. "Indeed. I was summoned by the King of Tagharium to help. That was but a glimpse of the battles to come. But I did not summon you here to reminisce about victories past."

August crossed his arms. "So why did you summon me, then?"

The Silver Sentinel leaned forward with his silver-plated gauntlet pointing directly at August. "I summoned you here because I sense the mark of the Legendary Forger upon you."

August blinked. "The mark of the Legendary Forger?"

"Sir Dumblore," the Sentinel said gravely. "A master craftsman of unmatched skill. His mark lingers on those who have wielded his creations."

The mention of the name struck August immediately. He reached behind him, unstrapping his custom mage staff from his back, and held it up for the Sentinel to see. The intricately designed staff pulsed with a familiar energy as he displayed it.

"Oh yes, Sir Dumblore made this for me," August said. "I met him in a mining cave months ago, did a quest for him, and he rewarded me with this staff."

The Silver Sentinel's hands gripped the armrests of his throne-like seat. "You mean to tell me Sir Dumblore personally forged a weapon for you?"

August nodded, recounting the memory. "Yeah. It wasn't an easy task, but I managed. He also gave me this."

He pulled a blank letter from his inventory and placed it on the table in front of the throne. The parchment bore no visible markings, yet the magic within it shimmered faintly. "He said it will make sense when the time comes."

The Sentinel's dragon stirred behind him. Its silver eyes narrowed as it stared at the letter. The Sentinel leaned forward, running a gloved hand over the parchment but not touching it.

"This... is most concerning," the Sentinel said after a pause. "Sir Dumblore does not forge weapons lightly, nor does he hand out objects without purpose. That letter… it's meant for something beyond your current understanding."

August frowned. "Why does it concern you so much?"

The Sentinel exhaled slowly. "Because Sir Dumblore forged my lance, Aleman. And the materials you gathered for him to forge the sword…" He stood to his feet, towering over August with his shadow. "That sword was meant for the Second Hero."

August arched an eyebrow. "Second hero?"

"Yes," the Sentinel stated while pacing slowly. "There are five known heroes across the magical kingdoms, chosen to combat the great calamity that will soon descend upon this world. Their strength is mighty, but they cannot reach their full potential without Sir Dumblore's weapons. My lance was the first. The sword you provided materials for was the second. He still intends to make three more for the others."

August listened intently while gripping his staff tightly. "Erm so... I still don't see how this concerns me?"

The Sentinel's voice grew grim. "Sir Dumblore set out to deliver it to the chosen second hero. But..." he turned to face August with a deep burning gaze; "he went missing."

August rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "And you think I might know something just because he gave me a staff?"

The Sentinel nodded. "Yes. I hoped perhaps he left you a clue, something we could follow. If he entrusted you with one of his weapons, then surely he must have seen something in you."

August shook his head. "I haven't seen him since the day he forged this staff. I have no idea where he could be now."

The Sentinel sighed "In as much as I would have preferred to search for him myself, my domain cannot be left so casually. Enemies will strike if I am gone for too long since I protect the border. But Aleman... keep that letter safe. It holds power beyond what you can comprehend now."

August glanced down at the mysterious letter once more before tucking it back into his inventory. He nodded. "I'll keep it safe."
