Chapter 50 Ken's Past, System Notification.

The cyan screen hovered at Ken's front leaving him speechless.

He thought carefully about what he saw and asked the question. "What doesn't that be my penalty…?"

Although it didn't really seem much of a penalty. However, the system had already accomplished its goal.

The penalty wasn't something that could kill him or anything like that. The system wasn't the penalty quest time. It has. its own way of doing things, and then were.

First, it was able to reveal certain details to Ken. And all that he witnessed, he could tell that the man, which he thought was his father, was actually not his.

Well not by blood anyways. They only took him in.

And also was the woman. She also wasn't his actual mother.

Ken himself, was able to remember all of these scenes that were shown to him. Since they were among the dark times of his life, when growing up.

Now, he had realized why all these had happened. Since he was a kid, at that point he wasn't able to understand the truth.

However, now that the system had shown him the dark truth. He realized that he wasn't a part of this family he thought he was. And this was very heartbreaking.

During his days as a child, he would often hear his parents shout among themselves. Fighting and quarrelling. This was mostly because the man wanted Ken to leave his home since.

He never really approved of Ken's stay in his home. Although the woman was more persistent and so Ken was able to stay.

And, at that time he didn't know why. All he would think about was that it was just a regular fight between them.

But now he already understands. It as all clear to him the main reason why they were shouting. It was because of him.

The man didn't like him, and had always wanted Ken to be thrown out of his house.

It all went down like this.

Ken's parents, after getting married for about five years, weren't able to produce. It was a very tough life for them, since they sat their mates giving birth to children.

This was so much pressure on them, because their family was so demanding of them getting a child. Their own to be precise.

However they couldn't, and so they decided to adopt a child of their own.

Actually, it was actually Ken's mother who suggested this. His father wasn't a support and was actually against it.

And so, when Ken had been finally adopted, the man wasn't too happy about that. I don't know if he was thinking that it was wrong or he simply didn't just like the idea of calling someone else's child his.

A few years later after the adoption, Ken's parents were able to produce, and so they gave birth to Estela. Their very own child.

Seeing that they could now produce, Ken's father decided to remove Ken from their life. He considered him an outcast since he now had a child of his own.

Although, Ken's mother didn't agree with this. She was against the idea of kicking him out. Since they had lived for five years with him, which made her grow attached to him.

For those years, she was able to take care of Ken like she would her own child, so this was a more tough decision for her.

And since she was against her husband's plot, it led to them always quarreling. This went on for months even years and soon after they gave birth to the twins Nicole and Nicolas.

With these two new children, the man became more convinced that he didn't need Ken in his family anymore and so he increased his plan on taking Ken out.

And just like always, his wife was against it all. The man even took legal action. Getting a lawyer and going to the court for the whole process. Although it wasn't taken up too seriously.

He couldn't take it anymore. And then decided he wasn't going to be a part of it all. And so he decided to leave them alone

"If you want to keep that child so much, why don't you raise him all by yourself." This is what the man told his wife before leaving.

She tried convincing him to not leave. As that would mean that he was going to abandon his own children too.

However, the man didn't seem to care. A few years after the twins were born, he left.

This left everyone heartbroken. Especially his wife. And within two years of the children not having a father, and the woman not having the support of a husband, she also did the same thing.

She left them.

This wasn't very much a penalty, if one was to look at it from a different angle.

However, to Ken it was. It was a painful memory and thus was befitting for a penalty.

This left Ken heartbroken and sad. And what's more this was a second time feeling this particular pain. So it was indeed a penalty.

The dark void which he encountered during this penalty and the light which he cashed, was all a symbol of his emotions.

The darkness signifies his empty heart and feelings, and the light signifies redemption. Thus making him cash it, trying to escape the feeling of his own fear and sadness.

The penalty showed him how empty his heart was, and how much he carved to be free from it all.

After all that had happened, Ken was brought back to the empty white void, and…

Ken looked at it and was certain that this was all his penalty.

He immediately fell to the floor and placed his head on the ground, as he felt the pain as heavy weight from all he had seen.

"Sir…Sir…are you okay?" A voice echoed in Ken's ear, and also he began to hear various sounds.

Ken lifted his head, and to his surprise he was back at the restaurant.

He was sitting comfortably on the chair, while the two waiters stood beside him, s they were before everything froze.

Ken was astonished to see that he was back at the restaurant. The sound of people talking, the sound of music playing, and most of all the air that humans breathe.

He was back to his world.

"Or… Sir you are finally up." One of the waiters uttered, prompting Ken to shift his head to him.

"What happened…?" Ken asked. His voice sounding a low, as if he had been shouting for a long period of time.

"Mhmm…" He then adjusted his voice, and asked the same question again. '…what happened?"

Both men stared at each other puzzled, and then the responded.

"Sir… we were worried when you suddenly collapsed your head on the table. We thought that something was wrong and so we decided to call for the ambulance."

And then the other continued. "However, before we could make the call… here you are looking all fine with your head up."

There were both smiling indicating how happy they were to see him. Although, behind those smilies was just then being happy that they were going to get their payments at all.

After Ken heard everything they had said, he was convinced of two things.

First, the between when he entered the world of his memories and the time here, were completely different.

It was as if everything just happened under a mere second.

And the second, he was convinced that the system had a power more than he thought. There was a lot to be explained, and this certainly was on of then.

Immediately, Ken took a look at the cyan screen hovering his front as it displayed the previous notification.

Ken instantly focused his gaze of the special reward statement.

"Sir…?" Both men uttered.

However, Ken didn't seem to hear them.

Ken then clicked the part where it said click here. The instructions was dancing inside weird way, was it was able to draw his attention.

"Sir…? Is he talking to himself?" The men, whispered to themselves. However, it was more distant to Ken, so he still couldn't hear them.

Ken clicked it, and then in an instant the cyan screen changed display.
