Chapter 1344: An old enemy (2)

Chapter 1344: An old enemy (2)

The villagers were quite surprised when they heard Yu Dong’s words but they nodded. Some of the women went to call the rest of the women who separated from their team while the others followed Yu Dong.

However, as the puppies brought them further and further inside the forest, some of the women couldn’t help but question.

"Are you sure this is all right? The puppies look too young to understand anything, what if they are only asking us to follow them mindlessly?"

"Yes, how could the two children come so deep inside the forest?"

"I think the puppies have lost the right path, there is no way the children would have come this deep in the forest."

Everyone in the village had seen how sensible and polite Yu Mai was and Li Yuya was also smart and mature for her age, how could the two of them come this far in the forest especially when they were told not to go to the mountains?

But at the same time, there were a few women who believed the puppies raised by the Yu family firmly and had no doubts in their minds.

They looked at the women who were questioning the three puppies and couldn’t help but remark.

"What do you know?" One of the women said with a frown on her face. "The livestock raised by Madam Yu are so small. Do you not remember Little Goat and Little Calf?"

"That’s right, how could you forget the two? They were so smart when dealing with the villagers from the Big Stone Village. They led the entire village’s livestock and chased those bad people away."

"I bet the puppies are smart too, they know where they are taking us."

Though there were some discontent women in the crowd, everyone was worried about Yu Mai and Li Yuya, at the mere thought that they had come this far in the forest.

Yu Dong was also worried, as she could sense the spiritual energy getting closer. She could see that it was erratic which showed that the two children were scared of something. Her eyes narrowed and she turned to look at the rest of the people behind her, she said to them, "There is something ahead of us. Everyone keep close and stay behind me do not rush ahead."

After she was done speaking, Yu Dong turned to walk in front of the team. She even made sure to made sure to increase her pace such that she would be able to create some distance between herself and the villagers.

The villagers of course understood her actions and their hearts warmed up even more. They looked at one another and then chased after Yu Dong, even though there was something in front of them they couldn’t leave Yu Dong to deal with it alone!

Some villagers were terrified but they still followed Yu Dong. That woman was the pillar of their village, if something happened to Yu Dong it wouldn’t take much time for them to fall!

However, at the same time, the women couldn’t help but question what was in front of them that made Yu Dong so worried.

But soon their question was answered as they heard a loud growl. The growl was earth-shaking causing a few women to take several steps back. They looked at Yu Dong who was standing in front of them, and then at the leader of the coyotes along with Xiao Yu who was clutching the dagger in her hands tightly.

"What…What is it?" One of the women asked Aunt Wang whose face had turned pale from fright.

Was it a tiger? Lion? What was it?

"It’s that bear!" Aunt Wang gasped as she looked at the dagger that was sticking to the neck of the bear. The dagger belonged to Yu Hai, Yu Dong’s mother, even if Aunt Wang was asleep, she would have identified that dagger as she had seen it many times.

Yu Hai truly adored this dagger, as it was a gift that her husband had given to her by working and making wicker baskets.

She carried it with her and called it her lucky charm.

Who would have thought that after so many months, she would see this dagger once again?

Aunt Wang’s eyes turned red and even Grandma Yu who was climbing at the back of the crowd, felt her heart skip a beat. She immediately rushed out in the front despite her old physique and looked at the neck of the bear where the dagger was sticking out from.

Of course, just like Aunt Wang, she also recognized the dagger. It belonged to her eldest daughter, so how could she not?

Old Madam Yu staggered and the three women behind her caught her immediately. They looked at the bear that was swiping inside the trunk of the tree and then looked at Yu Dong.

It seemed like it was fate that brought them here.

Yu Dong narrowed her eyes as she looked at the bear that had yet to sense their presence. However, she understood one thing, this bear was the one who killed Yu Hai.

And she was not surprised that it killed Yu Hai despite her skills as it was too big and strong. One look at its physique and Yu Dong could see that this bear would not be easy to take down.

She looked at the puppies who were still pulling her pants and glanced down at the small space in the trunk. She understood everything and turned to look at the crowd before motioning the inexperienced to go back while asking the huntress to come forward.

Yu Dong then turned to look at the leader of the coyotes and motioned it to attack the bear.

The big coyote nodded. It suppressed its howls and then jumped on the bear who was still unaware of their presence.

The big coyote landed on the back of the bear and dug its nails causing the bear to pull back and bang its back on the tree behind it.
