The first sage thought to himself, "It is too fast. At this rate, I and all three of them will be able to subdue a Cosmic source before the void universe ends. Something isn't right with this."

He doesn't know why it is so fast. What's more, the rate at which the Cosmic source was weakening was only speeding up. There were also unexplained irregular jumps in the power of the Apocalypse weapon. It was as if the Apocalypse was getting a boost of power from an unknown source. It was disconcerting to say the least.

As someone who likes to stay in control of everything, these unexpected events that he couldn't explain the origins of were rubbing him the wrong way. He tried to rationalize it, "The data I got from Monarch High didn't say anything about this. Then again, it was a prototype, and this is the first time I am using it. So it is normal that expected things will happen."

He tried to give a lot of reasons for this unexpected development, but that didn't ease his worries. He hates the unknown and the unpredictable. This Apocalypse weapon is the definition of unpredictable because of the chaos entity within it. He can't understand what is going on at all or predict what will happen with it completely. The best he can see in his future is that the Cosmic source will definitely be subdued. But what comes after it is subdued is another thing. He can't see if he will succeed in refining it. Actually, he can't even see if he will be able to start refining it. The future is just too messy. This alone is cause for concern. So he can't calm down. His mind was thinking of the various possibilities of what could go wrong. But he couldn't figure out anything concrete. The best he can come up with is Legion and his three allies. But it is only suspicion. It is even suspicion that he can't take seriously. He knows a lot about Legion, including the shard of power and their potential to have many supreme laws. But he doesn't know what the shard of power truly is or its worth. As for Legion having many Supreme laws, it won't change the fact that they are new world gods while he is a very strong world god. This is the same reason why he is not afraid of his allies. Apart from the fact that they have been tainted by CARNAGE and he is in control of CARNAGE, he has an Apocalypse weapon, and he is much stronger than them even without the weapon. To top things off, he has the Authority of the Void Universe, so his advantage of strength has been compounded many times. When he couldn't figure out where the inconsistencies were from, he tried to encourage himself, "I am very strong. I am even stronger than that dragon Tssandulighafan."

He said with confidence, "I am probably the strongest world god after the god of power, who is masquerading as Monarch High Heaven. If someone as smart and as powerful as me cannot subfue a Cosmic source, refine it, and become an Usurper, then no one can."

If there is one thing he is confident of, apart from his cunning and schemes, it is his immense strength. Now that his cunning seems to be failing him, he still has his strength to fall back on. He is much stronger than most world gods because he has gambled with a lot of world gods and archons and has cheated them out of their resources. He is notorious for that. That's why many people warned the Serpentine world god not to deal with him and why the Archons hate him. He has won so many resources that he has made a name for himself in the void universe. With his Aspect of Probability, he can find world gods, and he can succeed in cheating them. With all the resources he has acquired, his world had reached level 44 in quality. While most world gods are stuck at a world with a quality of 5 because of the doubling of difficulty with each level, and a world with a quality of 10 seems like a faraway possibility that will be achieved eventually after a long period of time, he has managed to overcome the exponential increase in difficulty of increasing the quality of his world 43 times in just 1,000 Origin cycles.

So his power is 5 Aspects x ((5 Aspects x (5 World Engine + 5 World Seed)) x 44 World Quality, which is 11,000. That is a massive amount of power compared to the average of 800. The difference between him and normal world gods is just too big. If he can't rely on a power like this, then something is wrong with the world. In comparison, the quality of the void universe is at least 165. He is a long way from that, but with this kind of power, he is confident of defeating any world god. Apart from the god of power, of course. So unless the god of power or an Usurper interferes, no one should be able to stop him from taking the cosmic source after it has been subdued. But the god of power already has a Cosmic source, and his hands are full dealing with the millions of world gods besieging him. An Usurper won't come either since they already have a cosmic source, and they can't have another. With the addition of the 10% boost he gained from the Authority of the Void universe, he has enough confidence to say that everything should be fine. This train of thought helped him to regain his confidence. He relaxed and said to himself, "Unless something unexpected happens, everything should be fine."

But as soon as he said that, he began to doubt himself because a lot of unexpected things have happened recently. After all, if something unexpected can happen before, it can happen again.
