Chapter 153 Bloody Night(II)

Chapter 153 Bloody Night(II)

"Puff!"

Knight Omar spat out a mouthful of blood, his face twisted in horror.

Earl Evan's group visibly tensed, their expressions darkening at the grim sight before them.

Knight Omar lay on the ground, his chest caved in. Luis stood over him, one foot pressing firmly on his chest. The knight's once formidable strength as a 3rd stage fighter had been rendered meaningless in a single blow.

Meanwhile, Earl Evan was surrounded by four Blood Slaves, their relentless assault forcing him to retreat step by step.

Anna fared no better. Though her body was riddled with injuries, her strength seemed to surge with every passing moment, her fierce determination reminiscent of a berserker in battle.

But her resolve wasn't enough. One of the Blood Slaves seized her by the waist, tightening its grip.

"Wait! Please wait!" Earl Evan shouted desperately, panic flashing in his eyes as he witnessed the dire situation.

Snap!

Anna let out a piercing scream as several ribs cracked under the Blood Slave's vice-like grip.

Despite the pain, the name of the Pros family, the so-called "Killing Duke" lineage, held no weight here. The Blood Slaves remained unmoved, their bloodlust unshaken.

"No, no, no!" Earl Evan pleaded, bowing repeatedly. "We truly have no intention of being your enemy! Please, tell me what you want—I'll do anything! Just spare my sister's life!"

Luis's gaze shifted to Evan. "What can you offer me?"

Earl Evan hesitated for a moment before blurting out, "What if I trade a secret for her life?"

Luis raised an eyebrow. "What kind of secret?"

Evan glanced nervously at the Blood Slaves before answering. "These creatures... they must be druids, right?"

Luis remained silent.

Misinterpreting his reaction, Earl Evan pressed on, his voice trembling. "I know the location of a legendary druid artifact—the [Heart of the Wild]. Would that be enough to save my sister?"

Luis froze, momentarily caught off guard.

Druids?

He hadn't expected the Blood Slaves, creations of the Blood Ancestor Asmon, to be mistaken for druids. While the Blood Slaves had undergone transformations under Asmon's power, they indeed bore some resemblance to the mythical druids of legend.

Druid was an exclusive profession of the elves, but it had vanished ten thousand years ago. After the continent was sealed, the druids disappeared entirely for reasons unknown.

Even among the elves of the Shining Moon Forest, no successors to this ancient profession remained.

Legends told of druids who could mimic the forms of various animals, gaining their characteristics and powers.

Thus, the pair of bat wings on the Blood Slave's back led the other party to mistakenly assume he was a druid.

Luis suddenly realized there was no harm in letting them continue with that misunderstanding.

After all, it was better to be seen as a druid than as a monster or a devil.

Feigning eagerness, Luis asked, "Then tell me, where is the [Wild Heart]?"

Earl Evan coughed twice before replying, "It's in the Arcane City!"

Luis blinked skeptically and shook his head. "How do I know you're not lying to me?"

Earl Evan seemed unfazed. With confidence, he pointed to Vera, who was still hiding in the garden, and declared loudly, "That's Miss Vera. I'm Evan Pros. Do you remember me?"

Luis raised an eyebrow. This Evan could recognize Vera at a glance?

It didn't take long for him to piece it together. As a mage, Evan must have encountered Vera in the Arcane City.

"Hello, Earl Evan. Of course, I remember you," Vera said timidly as she stepped out from her hiding spot.

The enormous, grotesque form of the Blood Slave made her visibly uneasy.

"Ah, it really is you!" Evan exclaimed. "I didn't expect to see you alive, Miss Vera. Hehe, it seems Silver Moon City is becoming more and more intriguing..."

He turned back to Luis. "Miss Vera, you must have heard of the [Wild Heart] in the Mage Tower. It's the treasure of the Mage Council President, is it not?"

Vera nodded hesitantly. "Yes, I've heard of it."

"See?" Evan said, turning triumphantly to Luis. "I wasn't lying. Now, will you let my sister go?"

The Blood Slave, under Asmon's control, shook its head. To Luis, the information about the [Wild Heart] was useless.

"Just this bit of news, and not the [Wild Heart] itself? You think that's enough to trade for your sister?" Luis sneered. "Since when did the lives of the Pros family's direct descendants become so cheap?"

"Just stay with us. You've seen too much," Luis said coldly.

As he spoke, roots emerged from behind him, swiftly entangling Evan, Anna, and Omar.

Under their horrified gazes, the roots fully enveloped them, leaving no room for escape.

Luis turned away, his expression indifferent. He hadn't expected members of the Pros family to come running to him. Since they were here, they might as well stay.

He shifted his attention to the Blood Slaves, his gaze lingering on their grotesque, bat-like forms. They resembled a haunting fusion of human and beast.

After a moment, Luis leaped onto his sword, his determination evident. He soared into the sky, heading toward the elves' main palace.

"It's time to end this farce," he muttered.

Trailing behind him were several Blood Slaves under Asmon's control, their dark forms cutting through the air like shadows. Enjoy exclusive adventures from empire

"What is that?"

A guard, hearing the sound of rushing wind overhead, looked up in surprise. His eyes widened as he caught sight of the Blood Slaves darting across the sky.

Before he could warn his superior, one of the figures descended like black lightning, plummeting from the heavens and crashing into the palace's main hall in an instant.

The guards at the palace gates only reacted moments later, stunned by the sheer speed of the attack. None of them had anticipated such an audacious and unconventional assault.

When they finally rushed inside to protect the king, they found themselves too late.

Standing in the grand hall were monstrous bat-winged giants and a human poised atop a hovering sword.

Prince William stood behind King, gripping a knight's sword. His voice trembled as he stammered, "Who... who are you? Luis... Luis! It's you! What... what do you want?"

Luis's gaze shifted to the king, who stood tall despite the unfolding chaos. A slow smile spread across Luis's face.

"Your Majesty, I must say, I didn't expect you to be in such good health!"

The king's expression hardened. "It's just a little trick," he replied calmly. "I used it to draw out the ambitious among my court as quickly as possible. But I didn't expect..."

Luis interrupted him, his voice dripping with mockery. "Don't worry, Your Majesty. I've taken care of your rebel leader for you. Look—"

One of the Blood Slaves stepped forward, carrying a grisly trophy: Diego's severed, bloody head.
