Chapter 146 nightmare
Chapter 146 nightmare
"You are currently in my domain." The answer I got was really simple, but the implications were on another level. How strong should one be to have such a strong domain that God-kings can't even live in it? The power you should have to have it is on another level. While I knew that there were levels above God-king, they were too far for me to find out.
Even Kali and Amaterasu didn't know what was above their ranks. The only person who has surpassed God-king and could give me an answer is my mother, but I didn't have the chance to ask her. Coming out of my thoughts, I needed to ask another question because staying in my thoughts wasn't the most respectful behavior.
"What am I doing here?" I wanted to know that. While I couldn't do anything to her, I wanted to know why I was there. Did she call me, or am I just dreaming of this?" The smile on the woman's face began to get wider as I began to panic. There were so many variables in this place that I began to get dizzy.
"Calm down, will you? While it was fun seeing you panic when you came here, it got old fast." The calm and soothing tone that she spoke with vanished and replaced with a cold tone that wouldn't take any defiance. "Gulp." I loudly gulped as I felt my death approaching. The deathly aura that came from her body was overwhelming me.
I took deep breaths and calmed myself. The situation wasn't going to get better if I kept panicking. I calmed my nerves and picked up the tea to take a sip. "Ahhh." The tea did wonders, and I soon calmed down. I looked over at the woman with an apologetic face. "Sorry for losing my composer in front of you. That was an unbecoming sight."
I apologized to the woman before me. While there were a lot of reasons to lose my composure, I couldn't be rude in front of people that I met for the first time. Then, a quote that Kali said to me.
"While I was the strongest, I have had a lot of experience, but the one thing that stuck with me is that the strong should be respected but not be feared; others harbor negative thoughts or intentions toward you."
After I apologized, the surroundings became calmer, and the woman picked up her cup and began sipping tea. The air around her became calmer as well, and the previous hostile air vanished like the wind. She set the teacup down and looked straight at me. I didn't evade her eyes and looked back without fear this time.
We stared at each other for a while until she nodded. "Good. It seems that you have calmed down. Dealing with children who can't control their own emotions is annoying." I sighed in relief as her calm voice entered my ears.
"So, what am I supposed to do here?" I still haven't received an answer to my question about why I am even here. The woman before me is the strongest being I have ever met, so I am curious.
"I didn't call you specifically if that is what you think. There have been a lot of people before you, and there will be many people after you. I am just the person who guides the people that come here in obtaining a tressure after a test."
'Why don't I believe that she is just a guide?' Although I wasn't sure what she was, I was sure that she wasn't going to harm me, so it was for my benefit to follow what she wanted me to do.
I stood up from my seat and placed my hands on the table while leaning over it. "Let's go do the test. I am missing my wives already." While it was a bit weird to appear here suddenly, it wasn't like it was alien to me. Being summoned to the domain of a beautiful woman while they are thousands of times stronger than me isn't a first. Read the latest on empire
The last time this happened, it ended up being a reunion between husband and wife, so I wasn't opposed to the idea and listened to what I had to do. The woman looked at me amusedly before standing up and walking away. I went around the table and began to follow her.
The only thing I found strange was that this open plane didn't go to anything, so I didn't know where she was bringing me.
When I was about to question her, I saw that mana enveloped her body from her leg towards an area above us. Mana spiraled upward, condensing into mist before crystallizing into a floating door. Though unassuming in its wooden simplicity, it pulsed faintly with otherworldly energy.
The woman before me raised her finger at the door. With one quick movement, she flicked her finger downwards, and the door followed soon after. The door landed on the ground and left a shockwave.
"This door leads to an illusive realm. It is one of the requirements to further your dream divinity. There are monsters and other challenges that you have to defeat, and the reward you will get will be better the further you make it, so do your best."
I looked over at the door. While the door looked like any regular white wooden door, as soon as it opened, a dreamscape appeared in front of my eyes. Stars filled the sky inside the space inside the door, and the landscape looked like a desert, but the sand was a lot of different colors.
I could also see some golden mist in that realm. I looked over at the woman standing beside the door. "Before I walk inside, can I ask for your name?" The woman looked at me and was silent. Just when I thought she wouldn't answer, she opened her mouth.
"My name is Eleanor, and I hope you have good luck on your journey." She bowed slightly like a guide would when their passengers moved to the next place.
"Nice to meet you, Eleanor. My name is Jack, and I hope that our paths will cross again in the future." With that said, I walked inside without looking behind me.
When I walked inside the door, the space around me began to shift, and I appeared in the middle of a big room. When I looked around, I had a feeling that this room was like one of those save zones you had in dungeons. Before me, two doors appeared with different descriptions.
The door on the left was named "Playground," and the one on the right was named "Nightmare." I considered both options and decided to choose the latter.
I thought about the risks and how dangerous they could be, but then I thought about the games I had played in my previous life. I remembered that when I played the games, in the beginning, even if it was the most difficult option, it would be easy. With that in mind, I walked towards the " Nightmare " gate and entered.
…
"So that is the famous Jack. What a surprise that I would meet him here. He was as interesting as Seraphina told me. Although his soul has been through a lot, I see that he still has the strength and resolve to walk forward." Eleanor was back drinking tea at the table where she just met Jack.
She was thinking about the meeting she just had. She was sipping her tea until she let out a chuckle. "My three sizes. That was the first time someone thought about something so obscene while in my presence." She was in an amused mood that she hadn't been in some time.
She snapped her finger, and space cracked before her eyes. The space that just cracked formed a screen where she could spectate what people were doing in the illusive realm that she created. 'Not that anyone should know that.' She watched Jack's movements with a smile on her face.
…
When I entered the door, I saw I was on a floating island in the sky. I could see clouds all around the island. I recognized these clouds as the same ones I had seen when I was drinking tea with Eleanor. Just before the edge of the flying island was a barrier, so even though the treasure was right in front of my eyes, I couldn't get it.
There was just one monster on the island, but that one monster was enough to justify the gate's name.
It was a big purple bird with three heads. It was currently sleeping, but I could see on the ground that a circle was drawn around it. The circle was likely its territory, and from the moment I stepped inside, it would awaken and attack me. I looked around the clearing to see if I could use the terrain to my advantage, but a flat plane was where we would fight.
