Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking

Chapter 495: Undercurrents

Chapter 495: Undercurrents

--

Things looked normal...on the surface at least.

The Northwestern Border Patrol Guardian Camp operated like usual. Still busy, hectic, and orderly. But underneath this was a raging undercurrents and plans being set into motion.

And this wasn’t just limited here. The entirety of the Border Patrol Guardians was on the move. Everybody was contributing to things that most of them didn’t know of yet.

In fact, this activity even stretched all the way to the alliance itself, because whether they like it or not, the alliance will be affected in all of this. Of course, they aren’t informed completely. Only a handful of people knew, and these people were trusted enough not to spread this news just yet.

The most affected party was obviously the Wise Dragon Clan. So much so that they entered the pre-war state. Their movements were obscured from the public eye, but it’s definitely happening.

Unlike others, the Wise Dragon Chancellor can’t hide the death of the young patriarch. Since the dragon clan is only so few in numbers, each death is a loss to them, and they’ve set up a system that informs them whenever a clanmate of theirs dies.

Even before learning of the reason behind the death of the young patriarch, the whole clan already learned of his death, so it’s impossible for the Chancellor to fool them. And so, he decided to come clean instead.

The death of their young patriarch stoked the buried aggression of the Wise Dragons as a whole.

One must know that the Young Dragon Patriarch was beloved by his clan. He was their most promising child, one that was supported by everybody and acknowledged as their next leader.

His exploits in the early days of his youth are what propelled him to the position. It is his sincerity that moved the hearts of his fellow dragons, and it was his wisdom that made him acknowledged by all.

He had such a bright future ahead of him. So much so that the Wise Dragons already anticipated the renaissance he’ll bring to the clan.

Yet, it’s because of his character that he died even before he reached his full potential.

The entire clan not only mourned for his death. They are also willing to follow the Wise Dragon Chancellor to march into the void to make it pay for what it did to this child.

But as creatures that are known for their wisdom, they can’t be reckless about this. There’s only so much of them around; yes, all of them are powerful, but they also have to ensure that the clan will live on.

That’s why they’re entering the pre-war state right now. They’re making sufficient preparations and planning ahead just in case.

Besides, this war isn’t just for the sake of their revenge. It concerns the entirety of the Primeval Scarlet Dust Realm as a whole.

It is in this part that Cedric’s name, his alias ’Dawnbringer,’ became known to a lot of people.

They all learned of him due to his ability to innately understand the language of the void. While others might need days, weeks, months, or even years to decode the language of the void, Cedric could translate it right then and there. His level of ’All Speak’ was unprecedented, making him a unique existence in the alliance.

Of course, his abilities aren’t exposed in the public just yet. In fact, his profile was highly secured by the Border Patrol Guardians and the Divine Council as well. If someone were to investigate him, they would only see information that was allowed to be seen by the public eye. All sensitive information about him was locked away, and only a handful of people can view it.

Cedric had no idea of this. Actually, even if he knew, he wouldn’t have cared too much since it’s beyond him, and their actions were understandable, after all.

Right now, his focus was to improve his strength, but this will also take some time.

During these past few weeks, Cedric could only be found in two places: one is the Occult Decoding Team’s building, and two, on his temporary residence here. He had no time to go anywhere else because he was pressed for time, and there was a lot of work to do.

Well, technically, he’s not forced to come to the building unless he’s required to. This was because whenever Cedric works, he finishes up at least a month’s worth of workload in a single day, sometimes even more. This was because of him taking advantage of his ’All Speak.’.

In order to let others catch up and verify his works, he’s not required to report to work unless he was called by Chief Blackwood himself. Which is also the same as asking him to take it easy on others.

Cedric wasn’t socially inept. He understood what they meant, but he ignored it anyway. He still comes once a week, finishes several weeks or months worth of work (depending on his mood), and returns to his practice.

He’s not doing this to be mean or to pile up work for them because he hates them. He’s simply doing his responsibilities. Besides, working like this allows him to increase his understanding of the Void Language even more, which in turn allows him to understand and use his ’All Speak’ better.

Cedric felt that this innate divine ability of his had an untapped potential waiting for him to excavate. There’s power in not only understanding all sorts of language but also speaking them fluently.

So far, Cedric had no real control over this ability. His translations happen subconsciously, which bypasses his authority over himself somehow. Cedric wants to be in control of this ability so that he could use it to its full potential.

It is for this reason that not only was he chewing through the records collected by the Occult Decoding Team. He’s also learning other languages on the side, studying them at the same time while improving his execution of the Cosmic Furnace Spell.

Speaking of the Cosmic Furnace Spell...he’s close, very close to mastering it.

He already mastered the five fundamental element refinements as well as the space, time, and lightning refinements. Only the Life and Death refinements were left for him to master, and he could begin his breakthrough soon.

It should come a little faster now since he’s been getting lessons as well, some directly coming from Paragons, which are cosmic-level experts of the camp.

He’s hoping to experience his 1st Transition before the war comes.

Of course, he didn’t forget to check in with his family from time to time through the Virtual Universe.

Fortunately, they are all doing well. His wives were having fun exploring the prosperity and abundance of the Scarlet Dust Alliance. They’re even starting to make a name for themselves.

His children were the same. They’ve outgrown Prime Earth and are now exploring the alliance in their own leisure either.

Cedric’s attention was mostly focused on Godwyn, though not because he’s his favorite, but because Godwyn inherited his position as Solaris Prime’s Governor.

So far, Godwyn’s proving his decision right. The child had taken up the role like a fish in the sea. He has exceeded his expectations, making the growth of Solaris Prime enter a faster pace since he began his reign.

Godwyn has made friends and had close connections in the alliance. It wasn’t a gigantic network, but it’s decent enough to support him. Hell, he’s working closely with other governors like him.

These connections allowed him to learn more from their experience and apply it to his work as the governor. He enlisted the help of some terraforming companies in the alliance to help with the development of Solaris Prime, something that Cedric never even considered during his reign.

Because of this, almost all of the passable planets and realms in the Solaris Prime had been terraformed and are now ready for further development.

Godwyn then started sending out people to populate these worlds, connecting them to Prime Earth using the Sacred Celestial Tree and building a tight network as the frame for the better future of humanity.

Additionally, he began introducing the Virtual Universe to a few chosen people. While humans were still considered a reclusive race for now, they’re not really banned from interacting with other species.

But of course, those who will establish contact should be smart ones. They have to follow the rules set by Godwyn because humanity isn’t ready to step into the limelight just yet.

Their focus is still in development, so until their expected goal is achieved, humanity will continue to be a reclusive race.

But of course, in the end, personal strength was still more convincing. And to this extent, his children were not faring too badly, already reaching the mid-stages of the Planetary Realm in Life Evolution. This level of strength is still rare to humanity, especially for someone as young as they are, so really, everything was going well.

It’s because of this that Cedric was able to leave them with a peace of mind. If things were to continue this way, it shouldn’t take too long before humanity could step into the limelight.

Of course, that’s under the assumption that everything continues to be this peaceful.
