Destroying My Own World

Chapter 347 Desire.

Chapter 347 Desire.

Everyone looked at Mykel and they didn't know he was going to join them, in fact, they had no idea he was with them all along.

"Damned soul? You mean demons?" Duncan looked at Mykel standing in the front.

"No, they were humans. They're being tortured right now," Mykel answered and could see the souls were being burned from the inside. "This is quite interesting," he added as he approached a woman who was sitting on the bench, staring at the night sky.

Everyone was watching Mykel standing in front of the woman who looked normal and didn't attack him. They were shocked when the woman suddenly clung to him and grabbed his crotch with her flirtatious smile. It didn't stop there because more and more women surrounded him and rubbed his back, cheeks, shoulders, and butt.

They were envious and tried to approach the women they liked, and it surprised them that those women were doing the same thing to them. They didn't even think twice and started putting their hands on the women's breasts. They felt real and the moan those women made aroused them that they wanted to do more than that.

At first, the women on the raid team were disgusted at those men until they were approached by handsome, manly, or even pretty men. They were offered to touch the men's muscles and bodies, making them succumb to their lust and couldn't resist it.

Only Victoria and Sophia didn't care about those men because Victoria never had an interest in men while Sophia couldn't see how handsome those men were. They both decided to look around the city because they wanted to know what kind of place they were in.

"You're coming with me," Victoria grabbed Javelin's shoulder who was busy talking with a man, and dragged her away. "We are here not to have fun," she pointed out.

At first, Victoria thought that Javelin was charmed or affected by something, but she was still normal. She didn't show any resistance when Victoria dragged her away from the man. In fact, some were only curious about those men and women and didn't do anything else.

"What's this place? Are we supposed to kill these people since Mykel said these people are damned souls?" Javelin asked and found a few handsome men that she liked.

"That's why we are here to find out..." Victoria answered and looked at the men who were waving and smiling at her. "These people, I mean souls. They didn't do anything suspicious at all toward us. They were... normal..." She squinted her eyes and kept walking.

They walked around the city and found a gate on the other side that led to the outside world. When Victoria tried to get out, a barrier stopped her from leaving and that was when the three of them noticed something was fishy about the place. Even so, the people were still acting normally after they saw Victoria trying to leave.

"You can't leave, not yet," A man with a soothing voice said.

The three of them turned around and saw a tall and skinny handsome man with long white hair. His eyes and smile were gentle, and he didn't have a threatening aura around him.

"What do you mean?" Victoria asked and found the man quite charming.

"You see, we are all trapped here, and you're not the first to try and leave this place," The man answered. "My name is Andrew, and you can say that I'm one of the first few people that came to this place," he introduced himself and offered his hand for a handshake.

Victoria, Sophia, and Javelin introduced themselves to Andrew because of his friendly and fragile aura.

"Now, would you like to listen to what happened here? It's going to be a long story, so let's sit down near the fountain over there," Andrew pointed at the fountain not far from them.

They agreed and followed Andrew then sat near the fountain where it felt so comforting and peaceful.

Andrew told them straight to the point that he was already dead, and a wandering soul that had lost its way. He told them that they were in a spirit world and that it would be impossible to leave the place for one reason.

"Wait. You're telling us that your soul is trapped here because of your desire?" Sophia scoffed.

"Yes. As long as I have a desire, I'm unable to leave. It's not just lust, but all kinds of worldly desires that you have will trap you here. For me, it's lust and the fact I'm here with hundreds of beautiful women, I won't be able to leave," Andrew answered. "It can be anything, even a desire to have a delicious food or cold beverage can trap you here," he added.

"Worldly desire..." Victoria mumbled as she looked at the gate and how bad the situation was. "We are living beings, it's impossible," she said and looked at Andrew.

"It will get worse," Andrew smiled gently. "The longer you stay here, it intensifies your desires, but the worst part is that you will never be able to satisfy your desires, especially for you and your friends. The desire to go back to your world will only trap you here," he added.

After hearing that, they realized it was indeed as Andrew said that they would stay in that world forever. The desire to leave that will turn to desperation and make them want to die. But when they died, they would be in that place, unable to leave.

They understood what Mykel said when those souls were damned and were tortured. Those souls were tortured by their own desires, cursed by them, and became damned souls.

Javelin was anxious and her mind went wild, but then she saw Mykel come out of the corner. She noticed that he was walking toward the gate, so she stood up and hurriedly walked toward him to tell him it was impossible to leave. At that moment, she was petrified and in disbelief when Mykel could easily walk past the gate.

"He... just left..." Javelin's pupils were shaking as she saw Mykel standing outside the gate.

Victoria, Sophia, Andrew, and those souls who saw Mykel leave the city were shocked. They hurriedly walked to the gate, but when they tried to leave, the barrier stopped them from leaving.

"Mykel?! How did you get out?!" Victoria glared at Mykel in disbelief.

"Am I not supposed to?" Mykel asked back and saw everyone get blocked by an invisible barrier.

Javelin explained the situation and told Mykel about the reason why they couldn't leave the city. They were asking him how and what kind of power that allowed him to leave.

"Are you perhaps don't have any desire?" Andrew asked.

"No, I don't," Mykel answered casually. Read new chapters at My Virtual Library Empire

"Impossible... there's no such a human being that has no desire. If you have no desire, what's your reason to live in the first place?" Javelin looked at Mykel with a troubled expression.

"Because those reasons have gone now. I won't be able to see them again," Mykel answered as he walked toward Javelin. "What's your desire that prevents you from walking past this gate?" he stood right in front of Javelin.

"I want to leave..." Javelin answered as she looked down.

Before Javelin knew about the truth, she had no desire at all because she was still in a blank state from using divine power. She was in fact able to leave the city before, but now that she knew she couldn't leave and had a desire to leave her unable to walk past the gate.

"That's not completely a desire, that's fear," Mykel looked at Javelin. "Why bother thinking about it when it never bothered you before?" he asked.

Javelin lifted her head and looked Mykel in the eye which made her feel better for some reason. She took a deep breath as she closed her eyes to shut her mind and heart. She then took a step forward and noticed she hut something, but it felt different this time. When she opened her eyes, she realized she was hitting Mykel's body rather than a barrier.

"See? Everything is fine," Mykel smiled gently.

Victoria was in disbelief and never thought Javelin could leave which only made it even more unbelievable. She tried to do the same, but the barrier kept blocking her no matter how she tried to keep her head clear.

"It seems your desire is quite rotten that you can't even suppress it," Mykel coldly stared at Victoria.

Victoria was pissed, but she hid her expression so nobody could tell what kind of desire she had in mind. She gave up and decided to leave because it was impossible for her to leave the city. She knew that it would be fine knowing Mykel could clear the rift and that would free her from the situation she was in.

"I know you're exhausted, so you can just watch. I'll take care of the rest from here," Mykel said as he looked at Javelin. "I hope this time I can get a proper fight," he added as he put a cigarette in his mouth.

"Okay..." Javelin looked at Mykel and realized perhaps Mykel wasn't really that evil and had a reason why he acted that way. "But what about the others?" she asked as she looked back at the gate where everyone was staring at them.

"They're going to be fine unless they're stuck there forever until they can get rid of their desire," Mykel answered.
