Chapter 1555 Calling For Help
Now, time to catch up with that other wandering cultivator before the mark I left on him with my divine sense fades.
Turning his attention away from the main sect quest, Xuan Hao focused his attention on the mark he had left on the second wandering cultivator. Soon enough finding a general direction to follow.
Although not entirely accurate due to interference from the ancient ruins themselves, it at least gave him a direction to follow and with his strength, he didn't feel like it would be difficult for him to find the second wandering cultivator with this information alone. At most it would take him a few more minutes to lock onto his exact location.
"Hm? Someone is contacting me?"
However, just as he was about to start looking for the second wandering cultivator, he felt his communication talisman starting to glow. Indicating that someone had sent him a message. Suggesting that something urgent had come up. Inevitably causing his thoughts to drift towards potential problems with the wandering cultivators showing up to join the sect or maybe even problems from the Zhang Clan he had decided to integrate into the sect to help manage the external situation of the sect.
"Not Elder Song or Feng Chen, but Chu Yang?" Picking up the communication talisman to listen to the message that had been sent, Xuan Hao was a bit taken aback upon realizing that the one contacting him was one of his disciples before his expression became far more serious.
For Chu Yang to contact him, it had to be something urgent, as he understood full well that this second disciple of his wouldn't contact unless necessary. Even faced with a life and death situation, he might try to handle it on his own before contacting him for help.
The only thing that made him somewhat calm was the fact that the last defensive measure placed on this little disciple of his was still intact. Meaning that his situation shouldn't have escalated to a point where he was seconds away from death.
"Master-"
"Qing Yi!?"
However, the second he heard the voice coming through the communication talisman, he couldn't help showing an even more shocked expression on his face. Not that it stopped the voice coming out of the communication talisman, as Qing Yi explained the situation that she, Chu Yang and Chun Hua currently found themselves in.
A situation that could be described in a single word, deadly.
Without his help, there was close to no chance of his three disciples getting out of their current predicament on their own. Especially so considering that he had also learnt about the current half dead state of his second disciple.
As for the reason the safety mechanism hadn't been activated? It had to do with the simple fact that his life wasn't in danger and his current state mostly had to do with him exhausting himself to the point of collapse while accumulating countless smaller injuries in the process.
The loss of his leg, while something life defining to a mortal, wasn't really a serious loss to someone in the Nascent Soul Realm or above.
Although recovery would take time, it was doable and the recovery, so to speak, mostly had to do with the strength of the lost limb returning to its previous state.
"Looks like I will have to give up on looking for that second Dao Seed Realm cultivator…" Muttering this to himself as he glanced into the depths of the ancient ruins, Xuan Hao shook his head. Understanding that he didn't have time to convince another wandering cultivator in the Dao Seed Realm to join the Star Shattering Sect, as he would have to save his three disciples before they ended up getting themselves killed.
And given his clear lack of time with how desperate the situation for his disciples seemed to be, he didn't bother wasting any time on meaninglessly concealing his strength. Directly utilizing his full strength to execute the Illusory Light Steps-
WHOOOSH-!
Turning into a bright ball of light that illuminated the mostly dark ruins as he travelled from the inner region to the outer region and out of the ancient ruins in less than half a minute.
"Wha-what is that!?"
"Huh? There is a sun rising inside the ancient ruins?"
"Why is there a sun now? Could it be some treasure is being born in the depths of the ruins?"
In the end, the wandering cultivators currently in the process of exploring the ancient ruins were left in a shocked state, as they all stared towards what looked like a small sun rising from one end of the ancient ruins before it disappeared behind them.
By the time that they realized that the small sun had disappeared, the demon beasts that were normally everywhere inside the ancient ruins had disappeared. All of them having already hidden away in fear throughout countless small crevices and other corners they could squeeze themselves inside to avoid the terrifying light.
After all, they could clearly sense the terrifying presence that was hidden inside the sphere of light moving through the ancient ruins, something that the wandering cultivators had yet to sense due to most of them being left in a state of confusion following the sudden sun that seemed to have appeared inside of the ancient ruins.
"A-a-a-a demon beast! A Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast has emerged from the core region!"
Of course, there were still a few who managed to sense the terrifying presence hidden beneath the layer of light, though they just believed it to be a demon beast. Not a cultivator…
RUUUUUMBLE-!
Stepping out of the ancient ruins, Xuan Hao didn't have much time to react before he felt the formation in place around the core of the free city where the entrance to the ancient ruins were located started to activate due to his overwhelming presence triggering some kind of safety mechanism.
"No time to deal with this." Muttering this to himself as he felt the terrifying power of a Saint Realm Formation coming to life around, he didn't bother wasting any time lingering around, as he directly utilized the Dao of Space to twist the space around him and forcibly leave the spatial restrictions created by the formation to prevent his escape through the Dao of Space.
Although a Saint Realm Formation was impressive, it was far from enough to restrict his movement without being fully activated. Allowing him to smoothly leave the range of the formation and use a long-distance teleportation to start moving back in the direction of his three disciples before the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator from the Explorer Union even had the time to react to his presence.
Whoosh-!
Whoosh-!
Whoosh-!
Only a few second after his disappearance, a group of people appeared at the entrance to the ancient ruins, a staunch old man standing at the forefront of the group with a clear frown present on his wrinkled face.
"S-Senior, what just happened…?"
Seeing this troubled expression on the old man's face, one of the people following behind him could not help stepping forward cautiously asking the question that was on everyone's mind.
"I'm not sure, but… It seems like someone emerged from the ancient ruins, causing the formation to activate. However, before that person could be restrained by the formation, they directly broke through the spatial restrictions and left. Damaging the internal structure of the formation and directly shattering the section governing the spatial aspects of the formation in the process…" Frowning as he said this, it was clear that the old man wasn't happy with what had just happened, though, at the same time he didn't dare to voice out any complaints against the one responsible.
"Senior… To shatter the spatial restrictions of a Saint Realm Formation and just leave like nothing happened. How… How strong is that person…?"
Sensing their senior's unease and unwillingness to voice any complaints about what had just happened, a second person could not help asking. Feeling curious about just how strong the person just now had been to do what he had done.
"How strong… I don't know, but if I'm not wrong, it should be a senior in the Late or Peak Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm to have such a high comprehension of the Dao of Space…" Thinking for a brief moment before answering, the old man soon shook his head with some lingering fear as he turned around and made his way back in the direction of the Explorer Union branch to inform the rest of the Explorer Union about the situation and have them send someone over to fix the damage that had been done to the formation.
Deep inside, he could not help thinking about the current situation of the continent and how the situation with the demonic cultivators was becoming worse with each passing year. Wondering if the appearance of this powerful senior was related to the increasingly chaotic situation of the continent.
