Chapter 1153: To Camrose
"It's… gone."
"Gone? Like the entire planet?"
"I don't know… but it's gone from the map!"
Everyone was now gathered around Aurora; their eyes, reflecting the holographic map in front of her. Even Riley was there, his head tilted to the side as he wondered what he was actually seeing… since this was the first time he even bothered looking at it.
But even with his cluelessness, however, Riley was the one to first let out a sigh as if he actually had the answer.
"Congratulations, Aurora." Riley nodded several times; his face, filled with satisfaction, "I do believe you might have erased the planet using the Cosmic Compressor Gun. Good job, I am very proud of you."
"W…what!?" Aurora's breath instantly hitched upon hearing Riley's words. Her eyes were about to redden, but Miss Pepondosovich hopped and gave Riley a little kick on the arm, causing him to slightly tumble back.
"Don't listen to this Riri!" Miss Pepondosovich shook her head and scoffed. "He's just trying to tease you."
Everyone turned their heads at Riley at the same time, and based on the blank expression on his face… it didn't seem like he was teasing anyone at all.
"Did I really… destroy the planet?" Aurora's voice started to tremble as she looked back at the holographic map; she didn't actually know where to look, she was just desperate to find anything, really.
She wanted to cry, she truly wanted to cry… but she was trained to be calm in all and any situations.
"I… I didn't mean—"
"Ugh… no need to be so dramatic, little girl." And before Aurora's remorse and self-loathing could actually explode, Heli's groan started to whisper in the air as she placed her hand on the hologram and started zooming and panning it herself. "I've seen what the weapon you used earlier could do, and hm, if Archon was truly hit by that, then there wouldn't be any trace of it left—but look at this."
"Hm…?" Everyone once again huddled up as they looked to where Heli was pointing, only to see something scattered in the colorful expanse of the Grand Triangle.
"That's Archon…" Heli's voice hummed as a small smile crawled on her face, "...and while it is true that it's destroyed—you can feel relief that it wasn't you who has done it. I can feel it, their deaths did not happen recently at all. They have been dead long before you even set foot on Aegard."
"So… it really isn't me?"
"Hmn… do you want it to be?" Heli giggled as she looked Aurora in the eyes. "The gun you used earlier would certainly be capable of that."
"No!" Aurora raised her voice, "Of course, not! I… I… no!"
"Aurora, calm down…." V let out a small sigh as she placed her hand on Aurora's shoulder.
Aurora seemed to want to say something and was even on the verge of swatting V's hand away, but she couldn't do so when she saw the expression on V's face—it was… empathetic, very much so.
"What's important is that you didn't do anything, okay?" V smiled at her, "Riley… I know how much his mind games take a toll on someone. I've… been a victim of it before. And even if what you thought happened really did happen, just know that it wasn't your fault, okay?"
"...Hm." Aurora closed her eyes and took in a deep breath; releasing all of her worries with the next one as she returned V's gaze. "Thank you. That… means a lot."
"Okay, then!" Monkeh clapped her hands, quickly breaking the somberness before it could linger inside the ship. "Now that everyone's done reflecting whatever, we still need to focus on the situation that's in front of us right now…
…the destroyed Archon."
"You said you rode that colossal whale something, right?" Miss Pepondosovich squinted her eyes as she stared at the hologram, "Did you happen to see the planet while on the way?"
"Sure did," Monkeh shrugged, "And it was pretty much still intact with no problems at all."
"...Do you guys think it might be the Order of Nothing?" Aurora's voice turned cold.
"Hm… well…" Heli also shrugged as she pointed out the window, "...Whoever did it, it would seem that they were really, really angry."
And once again, everyone turned to where Heli was pointing to—and finally, Archon was within view… or at least whatever remained of it.
"What… could have done this?" Aurora's eyes turned wide; her steps slow as she made her way in front of the window. Everything… was in smithereens. The colorful expanse of the Grand Triangle almost could not be seen as the ship started to go through all the chunks and debris of what they could really only assume to be parts of Archon.
The planet wasn't just destroyed, it was torn apart. It didn't explode, not at all… as the chunks flying around felt like they were ripped off or shaved apart.
"Whatever it was… it's big." Monkeh whispered.
"...What made you think that?" Aurora's eyes narrowed.
"That." Monkeh then pointed at one of the debris floating—or more specifically, at the tooth that was sticking to it…much larger than their ship itself. "Judging from the base of the tooth, that's not even the entire thing."
"Woah…" V's eyes widened as she stared at the tooth, "...Which creature do you think that is?"
"There's many to choose from…" Heli placed her hand on her chin; licking her teeth as she started to think, "...But there's nothing I could think of that would do something like this. Attack and destroy an entire planet? That… has never happened before—even before my father's time—the creatures of this place have never attacked us actively and directly… and that is why we leave them alone too. That's why I told you that whatever did this… is truly, very angry."
"Uhh…" Aurora took in a small gulp as she looked at everyone before ultimately setting her eyes on Riley, "...Since there's nothing here, can I suggest we just move on to Monkeh's planet? I don't want to be here when whatever did this comes back."
"Very well." Riley just shrugged before turning away, "Let us move on to Monkeh's planet—I will prepare clothing that is appropriate for all of us."
Aurora did not wait even a single second before maneuvering out of the planet's territory. And fortunately for them, nothing actually happened—no colossal beast blocked their path or threatened to eat them.
But at this point, Aurora was actually starting to wonder if anything could actually be a threat to them. Still, it was best to always be on the safer side.
And very soon, their journey continued.
"So… what exactly can you tell us about your planet, Momo?" Miss Pepondosovich asked as they neared Camrose.
"It's… different. It—"
"Allow me to explain, fufu…" Heli placed a finger on Monkeh's lips before she could finish her words, "...Camrose is a very beautiful place. Although, once we are there, we would all need to find each other as it's a very different planet… I wouldn't even call it a planet."
"Not… a planet?"
"Yes… It's a different dimension entirely."
