Chapter 1150: Mimics

Chapter 1150: Mimics

Chapter 1150: Mimics

[Who's… that?]

Everyone's eyes were on Aurora—all of them seemingly having a look of expectation in their eyes. As for Aurora, well… she just wanted to sink into any random hole she could find. But alas, their ship was airtight even on the inside to prevent normal intruders from sneaking into the ship.

"Riley… I'm not really—"

"She is the one who is meant to destroy all of you."

Aurora was gesturing to Riley to stop it, motioning and waving on her neck to cut it out.

"And now she is gesturing to me that she will cut off your head, Grand Puppeteer," Riley let out a small but very deep sigh while shaking his head, "I have to admit, even I am a little surprised that she is this aggressive when it comes to your organization."

[Oh? She said she would cut my head off?] The Grand Puppeteer's voice hummed.

"N—"

"Yes," Riley raised his voice, "I am only telling you this as a warning, Grand Puppeteer—Aurora was born for this. She has trained her entire life, and her sole existence is to end the Order of Nothing—even though I am the captain and promised to also end all of you for marking my daughter, in truth, all of us here are just tagging along with Aurora."

[That sounds very amusing indeed.] The Grand Puppeteer's laughter whispered through the entire ship, [But as much as I would like to be amused, Lord One is currently busy right now and I would not really appreciate it if you disturbed Him. And seeing as you and your group are capable of killing and defeating the rulers and overlords of the previous planets with ease—I do believe you would be able to bother Lord One, even if just by a little tiny bit of nuisance…

…but a little tiny bit of nuisance is something that I can not make Lord One feel. And so, my new friends, I am afraid that your journey will end here.]

And with those words, the comms cut off. And almost at the same time it did, the Grand Puppeteer's gray and lifeless ship disappeared. And then the dozens—no, the hundreds of ships that were surrounding Aurora's ship all started to growl.

…Growl?

"Wait…" Aurora then pulled up another screen which zoomed in on the ships that surrounded them—no. "...Those aren't ships."

Everyone turned to look at the projection that Aurora just pulled out, only to see that the ships, were in fact, not ships. Instead, they seemed to be alive—creatures, blocky creatures. But as Aurora zoomed in even further, their teeth and tongue started to reveal themselves—sharp, large, primal.

"Mimics…" Monkeh's eyes started to narrow as she looked out the window to see all the so-called Mimics approaching their ship, "...They're usually solitary creatures, so why are there so many gathered here?"

"Ugh, ugly creatures. My husband still remains to be the most beautiful creature in this world," Heli embraced Monkeh from behind, causing Monkeh to immediately swat her arms and move away.

"Grand Puppeteer," V narrowed her eyes; trickles of lightning slightly flickering around them, "I suppose he received that title by being able to control these creatures. I've heard of the Order of Nothing before and their goal to wipe out almost all life since they think the Immortality Event messed everything up…

…but to think their reach was actually to this point."

"...You don't know that much about them?" Miss Pepondosovich raised an eyebrow at V, "I thought you've been here for a couple hundred years?"

"I do know about them," V shook her head, "I even met their leader."

"W…what!?" Aurora's eyes widened as she looked at V, "When!?"

"When I thought their leader was Riley," V shrugged, "Order of Nothing, wanting to wipe out all life—that's Riley's M.O. But it turns out they have nothing to do with him."

"...You're more obsessed with Riley than I thought," Miss Pepondosovich squinted her eyes.

"How did you even get that from what I've said!?" V raised her voice.

"Hmn… all of us heard it," Heli grinned as she brushed her finger across V's neck, causing the trickles of lightning in her eyes to grow even more violent, "I know what it feels like to be obsessed, to be so… hyper-focused about someone—trust me, little girl—the path you are on now, it's not the right path. But still, we act on it, we live in it, because in the end…

…we want it."

"...I don't want to feel this way," V shook her head, "That's the reason why I'm here in the first place. And what would you know? You just got here!"

"Hm," Heli just shrugged.

"Uhh… guys?" Aurora, once again being the most normal of the group, could not help but raise her hands before pointing out the window, "Those mimics are getting closer and closer to us."

"Well, since someone pointed out that I am new…" Heli then let out a small giggle, "...Let me handle this, then."

Heli then walked forward; her body just passing through the control terminals as well as the large window shield as she completely floated out of the ship.

"She's not the only one that's new," Miss Pepondosovich smiled at V and Monkeh, "Come to think of it, neither of you have actually done anything since you got into the ship. Isn't that right, Aurora?"

"What…? Why are you asking me?" Aurora's eyes widened as her name was once again being called.

"You're the vice-captain."

"Then why not ask Riley!?" Aurora pointed at Riley, only to see him now just sitting on some sort of foldable outdoor chair while drinking what seemed to be a glass of milk and eating some snacks, "Wh—I'm not even going to ask where you pulled all of that out from."

"I guess that makes sense," Monkeh just let out a small yawn as she opened the window shield. She then stretched her arm to the side, summoning a staff—but it wasn't the same staff she used to fight Riley, no—that was still on the first planet, "I have to kill more than that woman."

"This is stupid," V shook her head and crossed her arms, "It's obvious that if I join, I'll just end up killing all of it."

"That might be true," Riley shrugged, "I have already fought her, and she is just slightly weaker than Odun."

"No…" V raised an eyebrow, "...I am stronger than him—I felt it when his lightning touched me."

"Hm…" Riley just once again shrugged.

"What do you mean 'Hm'!?" V then pointed at Riley as she started stepping out of the ship, "You think I'm not stronger than him!? Then watch…

…watch how I kill these things!"

And with that, V flew out of the ship.

"Wow…" Miss Pepondosovich blinked a couple of times, "...She's so easy to manipulate—no wonder she's so mad at you, Riri."

"What are you doing, Miss Pepondosovich?" Riley also blinked a couple of times as he looked at Miss Pepondosovich.

"Huh...? What do you mean?"

"You should join in too," Riley gestured to Miss Pepondosovich to follow V, "I do believe it would be more fun...

...and you too, Aurora."

"You... want me to die?"
