Chapter 1125: Seeing Red

"Why not try now?"

"...You mean fight?"

Miss Pepondosovich's ears started standing on their ends… as she actually somewhat welcomed the idea. She turned to look at Riley, who just shrugged his shoulders in response while just casually taking off the astronaut suit.

"...That might actually be a good idea," Miss Pepondosovich's eyes then squinted , "Riri has been getting on my nerves lately."

And as soon as Riley heard that, his eyes quickly blinked a couple of times; his hands pausing from taking the astronaut suit off,

"I did not know you feel that way, Miss Pepondosovich," Riley tilted his head to the side, "May I know why?"

"Why…?" Miss Pepondosovich's mouth started to widen as a laughing breath escaped her lips. She then took several steps back before just leaping onto a chair, almost as if she was bracing herself with what she was about to say,

"...Riri — I'm the one who took care of your kids."

"That is not true, Miss Pepondosovich," Riley shook his head, "I have been present in their life and—"

"And I felt like I had to raise you at the same time too!" Miss Pepondosovich did not let Riley finish his words at all as she pulled down her bunny ears in frustration, "And what do you mean it isn't true!? Did you really think that providing financial support, and then just showing yourself once a week is raising your children!?"

"...Hm," Riley could really only squint his eyes at Miss Pepondosovich's words.

"Did you know that when they were 6 or 7, they called you 'Sir'?" Miss Pepondosovich shook her head several times, "I don't even think they knew you were their father then! The only reason they were approaching you is because you look like them! Wait, no…

…they truly did not know you were their father! Do you know that one time, when the kids were young — they asked me who you are when we ate at your restaurant! And Liza and Katrina actually had to tell them that you are their father!"

"I did not know about that, Miss Pepondosovich."

"Of course, you don't!" Miss Pepondosovich crossed her arms, "And now, you're even multiple galaxies away from them and escaping your responsibility again all because you think it is what's best for them!"

"Well, that is true," Riley shrugged.

"And you know what's worse…?" Miss Pepondosovich stood up on the chair and pointed her finger at Riley, "Renna and Lucy actually think it is normal for their father to just leave them so casually! You did not even say goodbye to them or have some sort of farewell party! You just unceremoniously left! What is up with that!?"

"Well—"

"And Enel…" Miss Pepondosovicha raised her arms almost as if she was strangling something, "...It wasn't enough that you impregnated two women, you just had to add another one — and from Esme!? Esme, out of all people!"

"She requested that I give her a child, Miss Pepondosovich."

"For someone who said that he did not want to 'burden' another soul from having you as a father, you sure like impregnating people!" Miss Pepondosovich gritted her teeth, "When will you actually be a responsible person, Riri!?"

"That—"

"And secondly…"

"That was only the first?"

"And secondly…"

And while Miss Pepondosovich was pouring all of her frustrations out, Monkeh and Aurora could really only stand there staring at them.

"Well, you got what you wanted," Aurora whispered.

"...When I said they should fight, I didn't mean it like this," Monkeh blinked a couple of times as she just looked back and forth between the two; mostly Miss Pepondosovich since she was the one talking the most.

Unfortunately for them, Miss Pepondosovich's nagging lasted until they finally arrived on the second island planet.

"Let me get this straight, then — this is the first time the three of you will be visiting this city?" Monkeh then faced Aurora, Riley, and Miss Pepondosovich.

"Yes," Aurora was the only one who answered; nodding as she stared at the approaching island planet. And although they were still calling it an island planet, it looked neither of the two.

"That is a pyramid, Monkeh," Riley blinked a couple of times as the large floating gold pyramid reflected in his clear eyes, "Interesting."

The golden… was almost the same size as Earth's moon — smaller because it was a triangle, obviously.

"There are things you need to know about this planet before we dock," Monkeh cleared her throat as she stepped to the side and also looked at the pyramid, "This planet, Pyramid of Set, unlike most of the island planets in the Grand Triangle, has certain set of rules to be followed. But do not mistake it to be safer, I could actually consider it to be the most dangerous in certain aspects."

"Pyramid of Set?" Riley blinked a couple of times as he heard that, "Very interesting."

"Yes," Monkeh nodded several times, "There is no killing in broad daylight — but the number of people dying here every day is actually higher than the First Island."

"...How is that even possible?" Aurora could not help but just focus on Monkeh's face to see if she was lying.

"Because people result to killing in the shadows instead," Monkeh closed her eyes, "No one kills in broad daylight, but the Pyramid of Set is filled with assassins that lurk in the dark — some who just kill for the sake of killing and adding their deaths to their collection. And trust me, they would know that this is your first time here…

…and they would target you."

"What…?" Aurora breathed out.

"Of course, the three of us would have no trouble at all. But you…" Monkeh turned to look at Aurora, "...If you are hiding some hidden power, I suggest you hide it no longer because you are going to die here."

"Hidden… power?" Aurora blinked a couple of times; her eyes that were shaped like stars, slightly flickering as she became nervous, "I… don't have anything like that. But you don't have to worry about me… I can take care of myself."

"Sounds intense," Miss Pepondosovich shrugged as they slowly floated closer and closer to the pyramid. After a few seconds, however, her eyebrows started to lower; her bunny ears once again standing up on their ends, "Wait, Riri…"

"Hm?" Riley blinked a couple of times as he saw Miss Pepondosovich gesturing to him to come closer, "What is it, Miss Pepondosovich?"

"I sense someone on that planet," Miss Pepondosovich muttered with a weak tone, "I think it is someone from the Domain of the Gods."

"Very, very interesting," Riley placed his hand on his chin, "Is it possible that you are sensing One?"

"...No," Miss Pepondonsovich squinted her eyes even further as she focused on the planet, "But it is possible that it is actually one of the Higher Gods too — normal gods don't feel like this. And also, the fact that we can sense whoever this is…

…means that it also knows that we're here."

"...What's a Higher God?" Monkeh squinted her eyes as she listened in on Miss Pepondosovich and Riley's conversation, "...And Domain of the Gods?"

"You'll find out soon," Miss Pepondosovich just casually waved her hand.

"A Higher God, hm…" Riley placed his hand on his chin again, "...Are you aware of the God of Deception, Miss Pepondosovich?"

"God of what now?"

"Set," Riley then turned to look at the pyramid, "It could very well be that we are about to face a god known to Earth, Miss Pepondosovich."

"I have no idea what you two are talking about… and I don't want to find out," Aurora rolled her lips while shaking her head, "Let's just get a hold of the map and get out as fast as possible — no more fights or whatever."

"But that's the fun part," Monkeh sighed.

"You just told me to worry and be careful!" Aurora raised her voice as she looked at Monkeh.

"Eh, I'm sure nothing would happen," Monkeh just placed her hands behind her head before turning around and walking as they soon landed on the pyramid. As for Aurora, she stayed inside for a few seconds before heading out and following the rest of the group.

And unlike the First Island, no one really bothered to even welcome them or block their path in the Pyramid of Set—no. In fact, everyone was just covering their eyes; all of them kneeling on the ground.

"What's… happening here?" Aurora instinctively grabbed her sidearm as she noticed the people crying — and not only that, there was red everywhere; almost as if a massacre just happened,

"...You said people do not kill in broad daylight here, Monkeh."

"...They don't," Monkeh squinted her eyes as she also started looking around, "It's best if we should stick together, I think something happened here. We should—"

"Grah!" And before Monkeh could even finish her words, one of the people kneeling suddenly let out an excruciating roar — and there…

…they saw how red their eyes were.
