Chapter 1124: Try It
"...What do you mean I told you?"
Talia asked — but almost everyone in that room already knew the implications of Enel's words. None of them were ready to speak it, however, as they were all afraid of what it would actually mean for all of them there. But Enel did not care at all about what they were feeling at all as he just casually turned around and then just once again casually walked toward the portal.
"Wait! I will go to Big Sister Tata!"
And this time, no one really tried to stop him as he just tip-toed and then leaned his head inside the portal; slightly struggling to lift himself up. Very soon, however, they all saw Enel's legs just wagging cutely in the air — almost as if someone was tickling him on the other side.
And after a few seconds, he just pulled away from the portal; wheezing and giggling like mad. And this time, he was holding a slice of pizza with him.
"Yes," Enel then nodded several times as he took a bite of the pizza while looking at Talia, "She told me to tell you that she told you that you should know what it means! Brppp… Tongue twister!"
Enel then started chewing violently; devouring the pizza almost immediately as he was afraid that Lucy was going to take it as he noticed him approaching.
"So, my dear little brother…" Lucy, however, was not approaching him at all, but rather the portal as he once again tried sticking his head in, only for it to just pass through, "...Are you saying this portal is connected to the future? As in… future future?"
"Hmndunno," Enel just shrugged as he once again started climbing on Arthas, "I like it there, they give me food."
"It's impossible," Renna shook her head, "Time travel is impossible — this is probably just another manifestation of Paige Pearson's abilities."
"Well, if you start thinking like that again — then what's stopping you from thinking that everything here is Paige's manifestations?" Lucy clicked his tongue several times as he wagged his finger in front of Renna's face, "Then everything might as well be Paige's manifestations, and we are just living in it…
…wouldn't that mean that it doesn't matter either way?"
"Hm…" Renna did not really say anything else to Lucy or contradict him at all as she just looked up at Enel, "...What else did you see there, Enel?"
"W—"
"Wait, don't tell us!" Karina quickly stopped Enel from saying something. Her eyes, just looking at everyone back and forth. But after a couple of seconds of doing so, she just clicked her tongue and nodded before just once again focusing on Enel, "Okay, tell us…
…they must have told you something more important than Talia and Arthas getting married… which is so, so weird by the way."
"..." Both Arthas and Talia looked at each other at the same time, only for them to quickly look away as their eyes met. None of them really thought anything about each other — well, that was now changing ever since they heard Enel said that… and they would forever be conscious of it.
"Uhmm…" Enel just placed his hand on his chin, almost replicating the way Riley does it as he even tilted his head to the side, "...The other lady told me it would happen soon."
"...The other lady?" Karina squinted her eyes, "Do you… recognize her?"
"Hmn… no," Enel just shook his head, "But she told me that we all need to be ready since Father will be fighting her soon — and that everything will start there. Everyone here will be affected."
"What will start…?" Lucy asked as he started scratching his temple, "...And who is fighting Father? And why will we even be affected? Father's like billions of lightyears away."
"Hmndunno," Enel just shrugged, "The Big Eyes are asking too."
"The big eyes again," Lucy sighed and shook his head, "Focus, my dear little brother — what did that lady look like?"
"Hmn… white hair?"
"...That's it?" Lucy looked around, and the only one who did not have white hair in the room was Talia.
"This is why I do not like talks about the future or anything remotely close to that," Renna scoffed, "It's always so vague."
"Ack! We should just call Father again," Lucy then grabbed the phone and tried calling Riley again, but he was no longer answering; even after 3 tries.
"He's… not answering!"
"Probably busy cooking," Karina sighed.
"Cooking… Ack!" Lucy clasped his stomach, "...I want to taste Father's cooking again."
And while his children were currently facing a dilemma and panicking on the other side of the universe, Riley just continued to cook the colossal octopus — and out of nowhere, he brought out other ingredients that were the size of Aurora's entire ship from his pocket… particularly a bell pepper, and it wasn't done growing in size.
Riley then grabbed the colossal knife, just chopping it into strips — he then brought out garlic, butter, and all other red chilis and just started sauteing them along with the octopus. He then poured a little soy sauce on the pat; almost caramelizing the sweetness of the onion he had previously put.
And very soon, the smell of the butter frying and mixing with all the other seasonings and herbs started to whisper into the colorful expanse of the Grand Triangle.
The spiciness that oozed out from the pan just caused one to instinctively salivate without control. Its sweet, but fiery scent even seeps inside the ship and just causing Miss Pepondosovich, Aurora, and even Monkeh to feel it in their teeth.
The sizzle it made in the pan as Riley finished it, also whispering across the Grand Triangle.
"Nakji-bokkeum," Riley then said as he presented the dish in front of Aurora and the others — and they watched him do all of this while wearing a bulky astronaut suit.
Of course, none of the three really cared about it anymore as they all just started eating; with Riley even pulling out plates out of nowhere.
"This…" Aurora's toes almost curled as the burst of flavor just exploded in her mouth; the soft texture of the caramelized peppers, onions, and garlic served as a welcoming contrast to the somewhat chewy texture of the octopus — and very soon, the mix of flavors just started hitting her tongue.
The savoriness just sticks before being veiled by the spiciness, adding a violent kick that forces one to take a bite of the dish again.
"I…" Monkeh just started eating more and more; her stomach almost tripling in size as she just devoured the colorful red dish in front of her; her fur, almost dripping with the color, "...I've never tasted something like this before!"
"Hm," Miss Pepondosovich just smirked; a certain arrogance in her breaths as she had already eaten Riley's meal almost every day for the past 16, 17 years.
And very soon, everyone had their fill…
…but there was still a mountain of the nakji-bokkeum left.
"What… do we do with the rest?" Aurora took in a small gulp as she almost drowned with the sauce just by looking at it.
"We let the rest of the Grand Triangle taste it, of course."
"Wh—"
And before Aurora could even wonder what Riley meant, he suddenly snapped his fingers — causing the remaining spicy octopus dish to just fly in all directions across the Grand Triangle.
"You…" Aurora's eyes widened, "...You should have at least left something for us!"
"There will be more, Aurora," Riley just shook his head as he gestured to Aurora that they should start moving again.
"...I think I saw a giant chicken with rainbow feathers somewhere near the 3rd Island," Monkeh squinted her eyes. And as soon as Aurora heard that, she quickly piloted the ship again — and this time moving faster than before.
"How many abilities do you have, Riley Ross?" Monkeh then asked as she stood beside him, "I have seen god before, but I believe you would have a chance to defeat him if you wished."
"Heh…" Miss Pepondosovich let out a loud breath as she leaped toward the captain's deck and sat on the rails, "...I suggest you and Aura steel yourselves — because if the leader of the Order of Nothing truly is who I think it is… Once the two of them fight…
…then the Grand Triangle would be in for a very rude awakening."
"...What about you?" Monkeh then looked up at Miss Pepondosovich, "I can feel it — you are abnormally strong too, but not in the same sense as Riley Ross. Are you as strong as him?"
"Physically, Ruru is no match for me at all," Miss Pepondosovich said without any hesitation, "But other than brute strength, he is stronger than me in almost all the other aspects and it is not even close."
"So… you would lose against him?" Monkeh raised an eyebrow.
"Hmm… well," Miss Pepondosovich squinted her eyes as she looked at Riley; her bunny ears, just standing on their ends as she seemed to be deep in thought, "Riri and I haven't really fought each other seriously before, but…
…I would win."
"...What makes you so sure?"
"Because of who I am and the nature of my existence," Miss Pepondosovich just shrugged.
"Then…" Monkeh then turned to look at Riley,
"...Why don't the two of you try now?"
