Chapter 1123: Enel's True Abilities

"Ack, I want to eat Father's cooking!"

It wasn't only Aurora and Monkeh witnessing Riley cooking in the expanse of space — Lucy, Renna, and Riley's other children could not help but just stare at their screens as Riley started cooking the colossal octopus with a giant pan.

All of them, just idling in the living room of Riley's penthouse while they fit each other on the camera.

"My dear sister, please find a way to go there and get us some!" Lucy quickly pushed Renna away. And surprisingly, Renna did not respond violently at all.

"I am trying," Renna sighed while shaking her head, "But there is something preventing me from creating a portal near Father — I have also tried creating a portal outside the Grand Triangle, but I couldn't."

"But you were able to do it when they were in that Everywhere place!" Lucy clicked his tongue in disappointment before just focusing on the screen again, "...Are you sure you just don't want to solo Father?"

"Stop being such a child, Lucifer," Renna just looked blankly at Lucy before looking at Arthas, "You should be more like Arthas. Look at him, he is very well-behaved."

"Do not mistake his fear for demure behavior, my dear sister," Lucy once again clicked his tongue; this time waving his finger at the same time as he shook his head, "Arthas is scared of you."

"Why would he be scared of me?"

"Because you, my dear sister, are a psycho," Lucy then just started twirling his finger around his ear. Arthas, who just wanted to watch Riley cook, could not help but just let out a sigh as Renna and Lucy just started arguing again.

"...Those guys know they can actually just let go of the phone and sit farther away so they could all fit in the screen, right?" The only ones among Riley's children who weren't watching him cook were Karina and Talia, who were just casually having coffee at the counter.

"Just let them do whatever they want," Talia just chuckled as she watched her younger adoptive siblings have fun, "Why don't you join them?"

"Excuse me?" Karina raised an eyebrow as she looked at Talia.

"Well, since you didn't really have any normal childhood," Talia shrugged.

"And you did?"

"More than 600 years worth and then some," Talia just shrugged.

"...Right," Karina could really only let out a sigh before shaking her head, "There's nothing to join in — Arthas and the others aren't even children any more. The only child there is Enel."

"Enel…?"

"Yes, Enel."

"No. I mean… where's Enel?" Talia just stood up from the stool as she started looking across the living room for Enel.

"Huh…?" Karina also blinked a couple of times before searching for Enel, "Wasn't he just with the others?"

"Enel?" Renna, who was arguing with Lucy, quickly just pushed him away as soon as she heard Karina and Talia, "Wait, where is Enel?"

"Oh, you people did not see?" Lucy just shrugged as he started fixing his clothes, "The little babe snuck away earlier and went to his room."

"He does not have a room anymore, Lucifer! We sealed it and made it an entire laboratory to observe and examine the portal that suddenly appeared in his cabinet!" Renna screamed at Lucy's face.

"Really…? Since when?"

"What do you mean 'since when'!?" Renna's eyes just seethed with anger as she walked away, "You've entered it several times!"

And with those words, the group just finally ended the call and rushed toward Enel's previous room… only to find his body already halfway through the portal.

"Enel, no!" Renna screamed as all of them practically rushed toward Enel at the speed of light — but alas, it was already too late and the only thing they caught was each other's hands. Lucifer tried entering the portal, but his body just went through it.

"Oh no," Lucy clasped his hair, "He's gone."

"We were supposed to be watching over him while Grandmother and the others are gone!"

"Why are you only shouting at me!" Lucy then pointed at Karina and Talia, "Go blame the adults!"

"We didn't even notice he was gone," Karina could really only close her eyes, "Did you?"

"No," Talia quickly shook her head, "Are we sure the youngest doesn't have powers? How can he just sneak past all of us? Arthas, you're the one with the most powerful senses amongst the whiteheads, right? Did you notice him sneaking past you?"

"...No," Arthas just meekly whispered as he looked down, "...And he was clinging to me too and climbing on my back. It would have been impossible for me not to feel he was gone or climbing down. Honestly…

…it felt like I've completely forgotten about him, and only remembered him when you mentioned him, Talia."

"Come to think of it…" Karina could not help but blink a couple of times as she quickly looked at Talia, "...He's right — I didn't think about Enel at all during that time… and not in a sense that I just forgot about him. It was like…

…he didn't exist at all. Like he was… nothing."

"Are you still going on about that?" Talia raised an eyebrow as she returned Karina's stare.

"I didn't mean it like that!" Karina shook her head, "Lucy, Renna — what about you two?"

"That's…" Renna just looked away; her eyes filled with a sort of frustration she couldn't explain. Out of everyone here, she and Lucy should have been watching Enel since they were the ones who had been with him the most, and also she did not want to admit it —

"...He also completely disappeared from my mind."

"This is crazy," Lucy shared the same sentiment as he once again clasped his head, "I mean, it does very much make a lot of sense too — Enel is the son of the two strongest beings in existence, Zombie Esme and Father. It would actually be impossible for him not to have any powers, no?"

"...And Talia was also the first to notice he was gone too," Renna placed her hand on her chin as she looked at Talia, "Your ability is literally to adapt to everything, and perhaps that is why you noticed he was gone because you somehow bypassed whatever it is that is happening. So, that means… that without you…

…we wouldn't even know he was missing."

"That…" Everyone just turned to look at Renna as she said that.

"How many times…" Karina then blinked a couple of times as she looked at the portal, "...How many times have we actually forgotten about Enel without us knowing? Because I am sure this isn't the first time."

"..."

"...I suppose it doesn't matter for now," Karina let out a small but very deep sigh, "It was a good thing you were here, Talia."

"...Is it?" Talia squinted her eyes as she stared at the portal, "Because I am actually feeling a little scared right now. Whatever is on the other side of that portal…

…it's not good at all."

"Can you feel what's inside?" Renna quickly asked, "Hera said she couldn't feel anything."

"Exactly," Talia placed her hand on the portal, "And that is what's scary — our ability ensures that we always feel about something. The only time we don't is when something happens that we shouldn't feel…

…and I feel absolutely nothing with this portal."

"Then what—"

"Boo!"

"Fuck!" Karina almost obliterated everything around her as Enel just suddenly popped out from the portal without any warning.

"Enel!?"

"Hehe…" Enel then just carefully emerged from the portal like he was going down a flight of stairs, "...I scared all of you!"

"Enel…" Renna quickly hugged Enel before checking if he had any wounds or bruises, "...We told you not to go into the portal anymore!"

"Hehe… Enel is sorry," Enel just scratched the back of his head before pointing at Talia, "But someone told me to say something to big sister Tata!"

"Tata…?" Talia blinked a couple of times as she pointed at herself, "...You mean me?"

"Hmn, hmn," Enel just started nodding his head several times, "Yes, yes."

"...What is it?" Talia then looked at Karina and the others before crouching down so that Enel could talk to her properly, "...You talked to someone from the other side in the portal?"

"Hmn," Enel then very slowly turned his finger at Arthas, "She told me that you should not marry big brother Arthas!"

"Huh…?" Talia raised an eyebrow as she once again looked at Karina and the others, quietly asking if they heard what she just heard, "What… are you saying? Why would I marry Arthas?"

"Me…?" Arthas could really only awkwardly look to the side, only to see Lucy very slowly smiling at him.

"Who?" Lucy then tapped Enel a couple of times as the smile on his face grew wider, "Who told you that?"

"Her." And then, once again… Enel's fingers very slowly turned to someone in the room…

…back to Talia.

"Big sister Tata told me."
