Chapter 1120: Onward

VR 1119

"The Order of Nothing, huh?"

"Ah, Riley! Why did you just reveal our mission like that!?"

"But she is already part of the crew, Aurora."

"She hasn't even stepped into the ship yet!"

After a few hours of Riley completely terrorizing the people in the plaza, they were now just casually strolling across the dock like nothing happened at all. But of course, the streets around them were completely empty — the dock was now completely empty too. As soon as people realized that there was going to be a war between the two gangs, all of the people who were just visiting the First Island all returned to their ships.

And when they heard that someone was massacring both factions, they all just collectively decided to fly away. And so, right now, the first island seemed incredibly empty. But of course, Riley and the others hadn't really even explored a percent of the planet — but it did not matter now at all since they were already going to get what they wanted.

"We're not even sure if she's really going to give us a map," Aurora could really only pinch the bridge of her nose.

"Just give it up, Aura," Miss Pepondosovich just let out a sigh as she patted Aurora's leg, "The faster you lose your common sense around Riri, the better. It's fine, just let it go. Let it go."

"I think I get that, Miss Pepondosovich," Aurora also let out a small sigh while shaking her head; her irises that were shaped like stars, slightly flickering as she looked at Monkeh, "Aren't you… supposed to be the leader of a gang in this city? Why are you just coming with us?"

"I'm supposed to already be dead," Monkeh just shrugged, "And now I'm just going to follow the man who is supposed to have killed me — my life is no longer my own, the only thing that will free me from this is to reincarnate again into the next life. And also…

…I feel like it would be more fun going with the White Face."

"...And you really have a map with you?" Aurora squinted her eyes at Monkeh.

"Yes — let's just wait for my man," Monkeh shrugged before focusing on Riley again, who was just looking around the dock aimlessly, "But the Order of Nothing huh, those are the guys wearing those fancy uniforms of theirs. I don't really know how you expect to find them."

"We received intel that they might be in the deeper parts of the Grand Triangle," Aurora breathed out.

"Might be," Monkeh shrugged again, "But those guys are crafty and sneaky, no one actually knows how they even navigate through the Triangle, "Some say they have a secret pathway, but who knows."

"A… secret pathway," Aurora squinted her eyes, "Where did—"

"Monkeh!"

And before Aurora could begin inquiring more about the secret pathway, one of Monkeh's subordinates came rushing toward them while carrying some sort of metal orb. The man was about to hand it to Monkeh, but she gestured to give it to Aurora instead.

"Hm," Aurora just quickly accepted it before finally walking back to their ship.

"Are… you really leaving already, Monkeh?"

"Yes," Monkeh just let out a small chuckle; waving her hand while following Aurora to the ship.

"What… what about all the treasures you collected!?"

"I don't know, distribute it or whatever," Monkeh just groaned, seemingly annoyed, "Garboza won't be a problem to you anyway — as long as my staff… keeps him sealed."

"Then—"

"Goodbye," Monkeh did not even look back as she got onto the ship. As for Riley, he just glanced at the man, causing him to just take several steps back in fear.

"Do you not want to retrieve your staff, Monkeh?" Riley asked as he got onto the ship.

"I can do without it," Monkeh's tail just flailed around as she started looking around and touching some things in the ship, "I'll keep it there for several years so that Garboza could reflect on some things. So, this is your ship, huh?"

"It is not my ship," Riley shook his head as the two of them walked to the bridge, where Aurora and Miss Pepondosovich were already waiting, "It is Aurora's."

"Oh, you weren't the captain?" Monkeh could not help but just blink a couple of times as she looked at Aurora. She then started walking around the bridge before just sitting on one of the pilot seats; putting her arms behind her head and just relaxing with her feet up on the consoles, "Does that mean Weird Eyes here is strong?"

"...I'm not," Aurora just let out a small sigh before shaking her head, "And no, I'm not the captain. He is — he practically stole the position from me a few days ago."

"Huh, seems like it was a fun night," Monkeh then stood up from the chair she just sat on, "I guess it's sort of awkward that you do not know me yet, so let me introduce myself again. I am Monkeh, and I do not know how many times I have reincarnated — last time I was a male, but don't let that bother you."

"Welcome… to the crew, I guess?" Aurora just lightly clapped her hands, "But… you seem to have a lot of influence in the First Island, but I didn't recall knowing about you last time I was here."

"Oh, you've been to the Grand Triangle before?" Monkeh's eyebrows rose up.

"...Only the First Island."

"Huh," Monkeh shrugged, "Well, I mostly spend my time in Camrose — the 6th Island. But I rode the Celestial Whale for fun when it passed by near Camrose and just decided to spend my time here on the First Island."

"The Celestial Whale?" Miss Pepondosovich, who was just quietly doing her own thing on the side, could not help but raise her ears as she heard that, "Is that the large whale we saw earlier when we entered this colorful place?"

"Oh, no… pft," Monkeh started chuckling while her tail flailed, "That's just a baby — the Celestial Whale is about 50 times larger than that, it's practically a living star."

"...This place just keeps getting better and better, Riri!" Miss Pepondosovich tapped Riley's leg as she rushed toward him, causing Riley to take several steps back from the sheer force, "We should find that thing too while we're at it."

"If you can find it," Monkeh let out a small sigh as she started shaking her head, "There's really only one reason why the Celestial Whale would be flying so close to the islands like that…

…it's running away from something."

"Ho…?" Miss Pepondosovich smiled, "From what?"

"Most probably from the Pink Colossus," Monkeh let out a high-pitched groan while shaking her head, "I have really only seen it once, but it is a very terrifying existence that I do not want to have the pleasure of meeting again."

And as soon as Riley heard that, he quickly looked at Monkeh with a curious expression on his face,

"Pink Colossus?" Riley asked, "Is it Cherbi?"

"A what now?" Monkeh squinted her eyes.

"Cherbi is a small moon-sized pink ball of fluff, Monkeh."

"I have no idea what that is, but the Pink Colossus is definitely no pink ball of fluff, I could tell you that," Monkeh's fur stood up on their ends, "I still get shivers while remembering it — it almost melds with the rest of the Grand Triangle, and all you could really see is its shadows. Let's not talk about it anymore — I already introduced myself. What about you, Weird Eyes?"

"...My name's Aurora," Aurora sighed as she just opted to focus on the sphere in her hand, "And… I was the captain of this ship."

"I'm Miss Pepondosovich, and this is my first life," Miss Pepondsovich raised her hand before just grabbing the map from Aurora's hand, "So, what exactly does this do?"

"Try twisting it," Aurora said as she took a step back. And even when she did so, Miss Pepondosovich just shrugged and twisted it without any hesitation — and as soon as she did so, it quickly left her hand and just floated in front of her.

It then started disassembling itself, almost like a broken clock — and very soon, the pieces formed themselves into some sort of arrow that pointed toward a certain direction.

"...So, it's not a map," Miss Pepondosovich looked at Aurora and Monkeh with a blank expression on her face, "It's a compass."

"Not exactly," Aurora shook her head, "It doesn't really point in a single direction, but rather the best path to take to the next island planet."

"Well, it won't actually be the best path for long," Monkeh then just shrugged as she just once again let herself fall on the chair, "It will start to lose its effectiveness soon, so if I were you — we should scram."

"...And you're only telling us that now!?"

"What are we waiting for then?" Miss Pepondosovich then pointed to the outside, "To the Celestial Whale!"

"...Did you already forget why we're here?"
